It's easy to get an F from the BBB, though. People whine to the BBB about frivolous bullshit, the company does nothing (and doesn't even try to get accredited) and just gets an F. Big deal. BBB is just where consumers go when *they* fuck up because they didn't read the terms of sale and just have an ax to grind against the company, so they'll go wherever they can to try to stick it to them, either for "moral" reasons or to get something for free. Or both.

The fact that Kotaku - part of the shitball Gawker network - is the one to shine a giant spotlight on it is no surprise. Continued sensationalist journalism at its finest, complete with the usual misleading story headline.

I'll give that an 8/10. Decent effort, but trying a little too hard.

Not even trolling.

I'm not sure when it happened, but Star Citizen went from "the more I hear about it, the more I wish I had thrown money at it" to "the more I hear about it, the more I'm GLAD I kept my money".

I resubbed and bought the new expansion. I have so many good memories of the game, some of the best were from the release of TBC. I didn't play LK at the start, but started again after they released the Argent Tournament and didn't stop through most of Cata.

Not sure how I will do with this expansion because it's the first time I'm not playing with my brother, who was always better with people in these games than I am.

I watched somebody play for the first hour and it looked bad. Slow as hell (mission: get dressed), bunch of pointless quicktime events (seriously? mashing X repeatedly three times in a row to pull a lever?), and the thing I'm most sick of in gaming, a bunch of fucking writing all over every wall. As if people have nothing better to do in a crisis than spraypaint cryptic messages left and right.

Do you have a link to the video?

It's a survival horror game like Amnesia. These games, no matter their successes, seem to still be... niche. This, however, is a big title, so it will be handled by reviewers who don't really know what the fuck they really got their hands on.

From what I've SEEN (which is so much more reliable than reading shit) this game looks pretty solid and scary as hell.

I've said it before: Fuck reviews. They are a dying breed; a thing of the past. Stop reading, start watching. The gameplay vids look good.

I agree. I only buy games that I get a chance to watch in action, usually on Twitch.tv. I don't think I've preordered a game in years now.

If I was going to crank out a "me too" open world space game, I would be nervous before announcing a backer program for it.

If it had been 24 hours and it had attracted less than 1% of its goal, I would re-evaluate my abilities and vision as a game developer.

After playing the original Ludum Dare version, I'm excited to see what they can do with a full game. And spellcheck.

How many MOBAs can be sustained by those unhappy with LoL or DOTA2? Crytek might be too late to the party on this one.

In an age where I'd rather watch someone play a single player game on Twitch.tv than waste my time playing it, watching someone play this game has actually made me want to buy it. I probably won't though, at least not until it drops to $20-30 on a Steam sale, but the desire is there.

G2A has it for $38 if you want to put up with their bullshit. https://www.g2a.com/wolfenstein-the-new-order-steam-preorder.html

Why all the complaints about the writing? All of the game's predecessors weren't exactly Hemingway either.

That said, I bought D3 since it was $20. I encountered none of the problems I had heard about, so I purchased the expansion. I'm not far into it (highest is a 44 WH I think), but I'm enjoying it.

Anyone else wondering why a picture of a (rather impressive) schlong would be on a hard drive in a newsroom control room?

It was on Twitter - they must have looked at the first account that they could find the picture on, expected more, but found something a little different instead.

Of the three free to play games I have played, I would only say one of them you *really* need to open your wallet to compete - and that's Planetside 2. However, you can still *theoretically* earn everything by playing for free. World of Tanks isn't as bad - you just make less money and XP, and you can't get premium tanks which are only comparable to other tanks of the same tier, not superior. Mechwarrior Online isn't as bad about pay to win, since you never really *lose* money unless you're selling things.

The main thing you get for paying money for ALL of these games is that you save time - less grinding, more money/XP/certs earned. Even though the money I have invested in these games is *significantly* more than a $60 game, the amount of time per dollar spent is significantly better.

Of the three, the only game I felt like I didn't really get my money's worth was Mechwarrior Online, and that's only because the game's mechanics are very shallow, the community is very small, and the game simply doesn't have a bright future.

As a subscriber since release, I don't think this is a bad change. However, I do think the game is circling the drain. In game changes come at a glacial pace. Nothing new or significant has been added in months. MLG just isn't happening. Even though MLG is taking forever to get off the ground, SOE refuses to support the community that has supported the game since the first Planetside. It's a sad end to a great game.
