His one-sentence argument was far more coherent and valid than your failed analogy which introduces so many irrelevant side issues that, well, it fails. No need to get upset over that.

My argument wasn't based on an analogy that you may think is failed, it was based on the fact that as a paying customer, he should be able to voice his opinion without some snyde remark.

And how was his argument valid? The OP brought up valid points regarding the game and he responded with telling him to quit.

If you think Paladins are given any other duty than healing end-game, give me a break. We are NOT used as tanks but just priests in plate. And Shaman used to dominate PvP (not sure if that changed, haven't PvPed in a while). Their frost shock was overpowered and they had more abilities than god.

I did not tell him to quit (and he already did, if you ould read down). I stated that he has the option of leaving if he is so truely dissatisified with the state of the game. It can be infered from his comment that the quality of the game has not improved over quite some time after multiple patches and that he is fed up with it and feels he has exhausted all options.

He is perfectly free to leave the game without incurring any negative consequences. It's obvious he wasn't having fun as is, so he's obviously not losing out on the chance to have fun.

As a citizen, leaving a country (as in, renouncing citizenship) has numerous consequences and repurcussions. Not in any way comparable to not paying to play a game anymore. Sorry. Just doesn't fit. Your strawman is up in smoke.

If you leave a country, the consequences of leaving are no longer being able to partake in what made that country what it is. If you quit the game, you are no longer able to play that game. It is practically the same thing.

And it was hardly a straw man, considering your one-sentence argument was "No one is forcing you to play."

If you don't like something, do you just sit there and complain about it even though it doesn't change? Seems like a rather stupid way to go through life

Have you LOOKED at politics at all in your lifetime?

I stopped playing, but only because the developers dont know what the fuck to do with the Shaman class (my main).
There I am, standing in SSC.. healing.. but I am a DPS hybrid..
I healed from MC-Naxx.. but i'm supposed to be the DPS hybrid.

Welcome to the world of Paladins... we've been dealing with this since launch.

Er, no. Not comparable at all.

As a citizen of a democratic republic you are afforded certain rights (voting, for example, with a handful of exceptions) that let you put in your say as to how the country is run.

As a paying customer of World of Warcraft you only have as much say as Blizzard is willing to listen to. You can vote with your dollar, and if they're nice, they'll listen to message board feedback. But really, if you don't like something you've volunteered to pay for. Um. Stop paying for it.

They are definitely comparable. You're right, Blizzard has the right to listen to his complaints or not (which is stupid of them not to), but YOU are not Blizzard. And by pretty much telling him to quit, you are essentially denying his right to complain about it. If he just quits without giving a reason, then nothing will ever change. If he complains about it and then quit, or doesn't quit at all, there's a much better chance something will change.

Last I checked, no one is forcing you to play.

That's as bad as the "If you don't like this country, LEAVE!" argument.

If he's a paying customer, he has a right to complain about the content being provided to him.

Looks interesting... but it also looks like they're not doing enough to change it. It will be interesting to see how it comes out... but if it has the feel of the original SC I'm sold.

And all I have to say about CVG magazine is.... Credibility, LOL

Theres a bit about it from those that got the axe here...

I read somewhere that they were keeping about 50 of Sigil's employees. I can't imagine Sigil to be too big, so that has to be a decent chunk of them, right? Does anyone have numbers?

I just don't know if SOE can resurrect this game.

You can't resurrect something that wasn't alive in the first place.

If they're teasing us this bad, and announcing a new game in KOREA, and it doesn't turn out to be StarCraft, then Blizzard is gonna have a Korean riot on their hands...

So my guess is they are releasing Warcraft 1 and 2 for free, or updated with Warcraft 3's engine *shrugs*

Or they're hinting that just as Warcraft II was a sequel to the original Warcraft, Starcraft II will be a sequel to Starcraft...

Well I was hoping it would be a Starcraft 2 announcement as most others. But, why would they show the other franchises as well if they were zeroing in on Starcraft 2? I'm thinking they are announcing a completely new franchise. They showing how their 3 franchises have evolved throughout the years, and now in 2007 they are ready for a new one. Who knows.

I see what you mean, but I see them going with the evolution of their games in a different way - for example, notice how they're mentioning games that have direct sequels to them (they could have mentioned Lost Vikings or Blackthorne, but didn't), and then they throw Starcraft in there, possibly hinting that its sequel might be next.

Only semi-modern MMO that has every come out would be Matrix Online, and that didn't exactly win people over.

Interesting logic. So you can only criticize a crappy game if you spend money on it? That's news to me. Last time I checked, you only needed to play the game.

How does that logic not work? It's like if you walked into a Sporting Goods store, stole a mountain bike, and then came back the next day and complained because the gears didn't work.

In case you want to know what the new game is.

That really doesn't show us anything on what the new game is, just a dude smoking a cigarette. Looks like part of an opening cinematic.

Some of us 'elitist gaming snobs' are tired of being sold dumbed-downed streamlined crap shoveled into out mouths like it's the second coming, when it's really mediocre crap that we already played over a decade ago dressed up in a new shiny set of clothes.

Dumb-assed uninformed, uneducated knee-jacked little pissants like you that are too young to know better telling us what a good game is doesn't go over too well.

But, if you enjoyed Oblivion because you don't know any better, or you just liked it because you thought it was fun, then that's fine. Some of us expect more. Maybe I'm old and you're just stupid, but I want more.

You might be willing to settle for kids bits because you don't know any better, but some of us don't and won't. That's why we bitch and you can't.

Holy crap... you're like the Comic Book Guy of computer games.

You may be older than him (and that's yet to be proven), but your immaturity makes him a lot better than you. You're the reason companies are going to consoles more than PCs, because if not, they get a shitload of people like you who think they're better than the average person because they've been playing games all their lives. Grow up, get a life, and get some sun...
