I'm really excited about Clear Sky, I'm hoping for some real polish to a game that's a true diamond in the rough.

I notice lots of people claim this game isn't open ended, I beg to differ, while the role playing aspect is not as open ended as we'd like, the tactical part is open ended. Right from the very first mission you can choose how to proceed in rescuing the STALKER in the village. You can run and gun, try to sneak around the back, etc. Being able to do this is very cool and is more interesting than say Call of Duty 4 where you have very little choice as to what happens. I'm in no way saying what CoD4 does is bad, it isn't, it does what it does very well but to say that STALKER isn't open ended is a gross misrepresentation of the game.

Someone asked me what STALKER was like, I said it was like single player BF2 with some minor role playing elements thrown in. It's more shooter than RPG and when you look at it that way STALKER is very open ended.

In Soviet Russia you don't play The Club, The Club plays YOU!

The Club rocks. It's the Burnout of the First Person Shooters.

I just bought the game. For some reason it's manage to pull me away from Mass Effect. It's old school RPG goodness at it's best. If you like the old Ultimas you should definitely check it out.

I think Two Worlds is a diamond in the rough. The combonation of Diablo 2 style hack and slash with an oblivion style open world and character interaction is interesting.

Unfortunately, the game's engine, controls, and balance leave much to be desired. Hopefully these things will be fixed in the expansion.

Sounds like all the makings of a lazy console to PC port.

Apparently, some people don't understand the term old school.
This is a classic style computer rpg.

I haven't played this game yet but I'm gonna try it since I used to love these kind of games.

I now pronounce this "The next big thing."

It's in a very playable state right now, but there are some minor bugs to be fixed. Someone needs to give the devs a job now. The maps are amazing.

As far as the realism goes I'd put it somewhere between RO and DoD. One shot kills with many weapons but not all, depends on where you hit. No crosshairs, iron sights only. No life meter, it works like CoD2, you can hide and regen.

Anyways, if you like CS, DoD, RO or BF2 you should check this one out.

This game is a diamond in the rough. People expecting an RPG/Shooter a la System Shock 2 or Deus Ex will be disapointed. It's more like a single player BF2 with RPG elements. It's more of an open ended FPS. More please.

Man, how many patches is this game gonna get? Sounds to me like it was shipped broken. Ah, typical EA.

Could anything less be expected from an EA product?

I wonder how long it will be till musicians start complaining about sweatshop-like conditions over at EA.

Funny how when C&C is mentioned everyone forgets it's an EA game. C&C, Spore, or whatever else I'll never buy another EA product again. I'm tired of being bent over a barrel every time I buy a game from them.

Remember EA is waiting to SCREW YOU on this one too.

Interesting setting for the game. The screenshots look functional and the maps look open ended.

I'm interested to see how this turns out.

"This update continues to fine tune the game while addressing many issues."

I public beta testing of patches is a good thing IMNSHO as long as they are optional. BF2 players begged for it, and after much hemming and hawing EA finally listened...and it helped...some...

This game looks like utter shiite.

EDIT: Just so people don't think I'm just dismissing the game out of hand, heres a few pics:

Doesn't look any worse than Counter-Strike and people still play that.

If you thought Dungeons and Dragons Online has serious lack of content at launch wait till you get a load of PSU.
