E3 awards are WORTHLESS. Where else do they equate rating ads to rating the product those ads are for?

You're assuming that they are talking to people that understand gaming.

They aren't, they are talking to investors and financiers. Awards, no matter how crap they really are, = better chance of future profits.

Rise of Hogger...

Seriously, it'll be an empire management game where you create a new garrison and eventually take over the entire new zone and become Donald Trump or some shit...

Okay, that wasn't really serious, but I think WoW has jumped the shark at this point.

If they just port the old board game to a workable game with scenarios and multiplay, sign me up, I'm sold.

I played MW:Tactics for a short time, but it was far too limited (web browser/unity game), and the publisher has taken the money and run after shutting down the website etc.

Kinda hoping it's not Dark Age though, I fell out of love with the books when they pulled the plug on IS/Clans and decided to jump forward when there was so much left to go over...

just play path of exile, it's a much better game.

Yes and no.

I love the customisation of the game, but currently, there are few builds that you can get away with on a shoestring budget in higher tier games. With the lack of an in game consignment system or AH for trading (and a lack of a standardised currency), you are often forced to sit for hours trying to trade, or forum hunt, to get what you need. End game maps are as repitative as rifts, and some of the mobs powers are difficult to overcome with certain builds (eg. corpse explosion types vs melee).

POE is definitely fun, but it can be ridiculously harsh at times.

Also, the POE servers still have issues with certain attacks breaking the netcode. I've lost 3 hardcore templars due to rubberbanding that moved me up to 3 screens pack to die to a mob I thought I'd safely escaped from. That's unacceptable when you could have invested hundreds of hours in to a character. DIII, for all it's flaws, has great netcode and Aus servers are fast and stable. If I'm playing hardcore, I only die because I screwed up, not because the game decided it was time to retire my guy.

I didn't think this game was that popular.

Maybe i'll pick it up at some point.

Between vanilla and modded, I sank about 400 hours in to MB:Warband. Great game if you enjoy open world medieval smashfuckery.

The combat system is simplistic and stupid.

Does it actually ruin the game? the answer is no.

Is the game still really good? yes.

Would the game benefit from a better skill based attack system? Yes.

Also, I don't dodge.. I roll. It works amazingly well on everything except for Fiends (which are in my opinion, the hardest creature in the game)

Dodge is finished quicker, usually leaving you in a place to counter attack quickly (great against charging monsters like drowners etc). Roll, I typically only use on the bigger monsters that have larger area swipe type attacks. Poh-tay-toe poh-tah-toe though, it's not like the combat is that hard.

I just finsihed the game on "Blood and Broken Bones" discovering all the ? and doing all the side quests, 140 hours later I have to say I absolutely HATE the combat and the movement, I button mashed my way through the last half of the game. I spent the first 50 hours trying to learn the subtleties and finer points to the combat system inside and out, and I'm sorry to say its just not there, spent the rest of the time just button mashing through the combat with better success. Mac from worth a buy is 100% right about it. Console trash combat.

Yeah, light attack mostly makes combat a breeze for most of the game.

Shields and polearms, don't attack while they are blocking.
Swords, spam away.
Monsters, double tap dodge and then 2-3 hits before getting out of range again.

Most of the second half of the game, apart from a few higher tier monsters (and even they were pretty easy) was boring because very little could actually threaten you. Not really tempted by NG+, I'm happy with how my story finished. Might go back and revisit the series at a later date but I'll doubt I'll make different choices.

Left 4 Skaven? =)

Whoever said that a while back is probably bang on.

not like that's a bad thing, this game could be quite a bit of fun if done properly.

I was also really looking forward to Hellraid, and had a lot of fun playing Dead Island co-op (despite DI itself being a fairly crappy game) purely because it's fun to play that sort of thing with friends.

Left 4 Skaven? =)

Looking forward to it, the group of guys I play with get the biggest bang for buck from co-op games, even when the game is a bit ordinary. An average co-op game is often more enjoyable than an excellent single player game purely because of the shared experience.

Here's hoping.

I've always wanted a game where you could seamlessly go from space to ground and get out of your ship. I'm very enthusiastic about this just because it proves the concept that you can do it. I guess we'll see how it turns out, but it does look fantastic.

Yup, instead of downloading a service pack, you get a couple of scented candles and a crystal in the mail...

Be a great way to get rid of those bugs hanging around SCCM for the last decade or so.

With the right story, Duke Nukem could still be viable. It would have to be a "Man out of his time" story similar to "Demolition Man" (the Stallone/Snipes movie). It could create an interesting dynamic.

Sure, but the property has been pretty tainted by now.

Shadow Warrior was a great example of a remake of an older game which was fun, the old "male only crowd" ethos was mellowed somewhat, not enough to ruin the chuckles at some of the more absurd one liners, but the game itself was a fairly solid, fun little jaunt.

DKF was fucking awful. It was like a second rate themepark ride through a history of computer gaming with lines that would make even a dyed in the wool woman hater blush (and I'm no political correctness stickler). Duke was cool in his time mostly because we didn't really have much to compare it to, and because the game was, for it's time, relatively advanced. Take the worst fucking game today and put it up against some of the stuff from the late 90's and it would probably do okay purely for lack of viable alternatives.

Dogfight ability has zero relevance to plane performance in a modern AWACS supported war.

And... F-35 in Dogfight.. would be a major fail of the command structure. Considering the US can get the IRIS-T, which is a "furball" missile. Meaning it can turn around and chase targets that are behind, below or above a plane without having to turn the plane in that direction....

If inability to dogfight were it's only issue, then you might have a point. But considering just what this aircraft is expected to do, it's another cross in a column that is already overloaded with them.

And if the rule "technology will always win the fight" applies, why are aviators still issued with hand guns when flying over hostile territory? The long and the short of it is that tech is great until it's not great anymore, then you fall back on more traditional methods. Having a latest gen jet fighter being unable to outclass a 40 year old design (F16) carrying underwing fuel tanks is, in short, atrocious.

eg. Replacing the ageing yet incredibly solid A-10 with F-35's, part of the reasoning to move that way was because the A-10 is relatively slow and unwieldy and wouldn't fare well against modern Chinese or Soviet jet fighters. However, in it's role as a ground attack aircraft, it is dreadfully good at it's job.

Now, the F-35 is revealed to be disadvantaged in a dogfight (probably less so than the A10, but at 10 times the cost per jet) and wouldn't do particularly well in a ground attack role. It certainly wouldn't be able to carry home it's pilots with the same level of damage some A-10's have managed.

The F-35 is a case of a solution looking for a problem. Instead of building a range of air craft that could fill specialist roles, the US went for a one size fits all approach and jammed it full of technological marvels, used a variety of contractors remote from each other to do so, and now wonders why it has an overly expensive, incredibly late, under performing piece of junk on it's hands... The F-35 is the very definition of "too big to fail", it has so much momentum to be rolled out now because to scrap it would be to admit to a colossal waste of time and money.

It makes me pretty cranky when I see that Australia is traipsing down the yellow brick road and wanting these jets in service. I imagine when these things finally get in to service and the body bags start rolling back, supporters of the program might suddenly have a change in heart over how good the thing is.

I always have the latest WHQL drivers installed. Zero crash issues here. You guys need to stop breaking shit!

The "game ready" drivers that came out for Witcher 3 caused many issues, not the least of which were problems with the Kepler core cards (which they released a hotfix for), problems with surround systems (which could be alleviated by plugging all displays in to one card if your card could support it) and CTD's/blue screens from things like browsers.

If you pulled your head out of your ass for five seconds, you'd see plenty of info on the problem on various forums including Nvidia, WSGF, major tech sites etc.

Just because you do not have a problem (well, this problem, you obviously have problems) doesn't mean a problem doesn't exist princess... ; )

First steam sale in... well, ever, where I haven't spent a single cent (the 3 cards I picked up to make 1 badge were paid for out of selling other duplicate cards).

Very weak sale imo, any of the titles I don't have and might have been tempted by weren't very discounted if at all.

And that click game... Who came up with that piece of shit. 35 seconds was enough to convince me all you had to do was log in, get cards, log out. I'm 40 and fight RSI already, I don't need that bullshit to add to it.

Anyone get ARK yet? Looks fun but most of the reviews lead me to believe it's still a hot mess atm.

Got it, mileage varies. Optimisation sucks ass, graphics and visuals are impressive but let down by the lag etc, gameplay is pretty fun and full on but there are some things that just need some more work.

That being said, I think it's loaded with potential. Haven't been very impressed with the Steam sale so far (and my dance card is full atm) but if you do enjoy co-op survival (or even single player, although it would be a staggering amount of work to try and run solo through the game), it might be worth a shot.

Have a look at the Worth a Buy vid review for a laugh and a pretty frank run down of where the game sits currently.
