But they do have the right to tell you what you can and can't do with THEIR game.

Anyone that condones cheating, particularly in online MP games needs to be banned, period.
Think you're missing the boundary between law and terms of service.

..it's probably more to do with the terrible reviews it's been getting. 58% from 1up? 68 from PCGUK? Piracy might've hurt the sales, but at least they won't be buying the game after downloading it.

Pretty much a quick distraction. Kind of Katamari sans substance. I was expecting more meat and story, but hey, it's free...for today.

Well, no. The auto-updates will insure [sic Valve, God] that everyone has the latest version...but can be turned off.

Willing to bet it'll be World of Diablo. No way in hell they'll step on Starcraft 2's toes with a World of Starcraft mmo.
It's going to take years to complete as they've started employing people for it now, so I very much doubt Starcraft 2 will still be being pushed by the time this MMO is released ;o

You guys are care bears. Whats the point in playing a game where there is nothing to lose? I wanna play a game which has danger in it unlike WOW where u feel like a spoon fed zombie and nothing interesting ever happens.
As for all this griefing stuff, that is good! players would form parties to hunt the evil pkers and this would add to the politics. Also check out how much depth and complexity there is in Ultima Online compared to modern MMORPG's its like they never evolved. UO is 10 years old and miles more advanced than all these other quest, combat games. Sad really as MMO's are where games are getting more interesting.
QFT. Yeah, UO has so much to give. It's a shame it's been ruined by the last bunch of expansions (elves, insurance, item propertie, etc). Undiluted UO has more depth, grab, player interaction, freedom and other stuff as well than any MMO since. Fact.

if noone can make a good, paid MMORPG, I wouldn't expect much from a free to play one.

"another new game coming to Steam not by Valve? We already heard of SiN2, I wonder what this could mean?"

bullshit. Lionel Hutz, attorney at law. I'd've thought, EVEN IN THE U.S. you'd have to have a clue before making ridiculous claims like this. Almost every word in his statements regarding The Sims are completely untrue. A "code" to turn it off, the fact that they have any sexual organs, etc. This guy should be deported to Iraq.

Also: "The blur can be disarmed. This is no different than what is in San Andreas, although worse". That quote again: "no different...although worse". Good logic, retard.

to be fair it's comparible to the Sims nude patches. The fact that this got media coverage at all in the States is a joke.
