hmmm...
I was really hating this game. But that LOOKED really sweet. I'm still not sure I will buy it. I am really looking forward to FH2. I think BF map size is just better suited to slower moving vehicles a la WWII. In BF2, things are zooming all over the place. 2142 is going to be no different. But who knows, if they bring the price down, I might buy it, to mod what looks like a few changes.

I have been laughing for the last 3 weeks watching Season 1 and 2 on DVD. The episodes never get old.

A few of you kind of debated the biological versus the mechanical soldier. Joe Haldeman's - Forever Peace - where "rich" nations use Mechanical while the "poor" nations use the former, does a good job of looking into that scenario. If you read the book you'll understand my use of quotation marks too.

If you like sci-fi, check it out.

ET:QW will make this game look and feel as tired and rehashed as it truly is.

Lets hope so. I long for something new in the MP world.

man, if spores as good as it looks, i'd buy it if i had to mail a check to the klan.

I've never been a fan of Wright. But spores looks fantastic, and I hope with all the procedural technology being used it cuts down on Drive space needed.

I wonder if this is the response EA/DICE expected this PC Gamer sneak peak would get? I'm sure they have someone reading the larger news sites getting feedback, and potentially ideas for making the product successful.

Oh I'm pretty sure of it. Nothing strikes me more as a dumb game design choice. "Lets make a future war mod for our engine, and then 'leak' footage so that, all the fanboys and whinners speak up and tell us what they want on the forums. Then we'll give it to them." Then they release shitty product.

BF2 is a shitty product. I LOVE it, but it's shitty. A new map loads and the round is already over because it took me so long to load. Many bugs have never been taken care of, since first release.

The sad thing about the whole state of affairs is that the modders are making the great games. And they don't have access to all the necessary tools to really make their dreams a reality, so instead we get all these shitty corporate releases. EA boardmembers want more money, they get it by EA releasing more games.

Whatever. I was a huge fan of the BF series. '42 was great. Bf2 has been fun, but I was entertained by '42 longer. Looking forward to FH2 to be released.
Now about 2142. I don't think so. Quake Wars is actually looking really great and the Enemy Territory Team made a pretty fun mod awhile back. I hate id but I think I'll choose QWs over 2142, simply because 2142 is a mod for a current title that doesn't want to be steam rolled by an up and coming.
I agree it will be pushed back well into 2007.

I'm surprised that a superior engine, atleast by their comparisons chart, would allow themselves to be bought and merged. Tim Johnson must be one really big fan of Unreal.

Well. Thats bad news. But We should all take into account the recent events that took place in the Ukraine. I'm sure the whole switch to West style politics and scandals affected the dev company in some way.

But this game looked ready a long time ago...

I feel a tourettes outburst coming on...

going to press the button...

Hey, you know I just thought of something...wasn't DE working on some other game that was supposed to be some dark techno thriller or something? I can't remember the title, but I remember something like that and I don't think it was Pariah. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what happened to that?

Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 sucked both in their own way. Now stop flaming about this POS and let us prey so they are not going to fsck up S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

God I hope they don't screw STALKER up, or worse stalling it so that it ends up in limbo like Duke Nukem Forever.

As for the SP demo, is that the one that came with some gaming magazine? I heard it was not official or something and had bugs.. Might give it a try nevertheless.

I just copied the link from the Pariah Ships thread. I'm not sure if its official.

Bah i hate this D3 bashing, i really do.

D3's shortcomings in my opinion were that it was a schwarzenegger type game. Lots of shooting but without any depth to it. It looked great but had some poor gameplay mechanics. No lights on guns, and no ambient light in the maps (to keep it very dark always as crutch). Creatures spawning behind you and behind "sliding" walls. That might have been fine for the original Doom but I think those of us who've been playing FPS' for awhile now have grown up and would like really like something more then just run'n'gun.
HL2 scored higher in my books because of this. But it still had lots of holes.

As if pc gamers "one of the best games ever" title for doom 3 didnt prove this.

How does it prove that PC Gamer magazine is retarded? For me it sure beat the crap out of HL2, and i played and completed both. I really don't understand this Doom 3 bashing that's happening.

"Oh the doom 3 levels were really poorly designed and cramped" Well actually no, they were designed better and the same size if not bigger than HL2 maps. Not only that but at least in D3 it told you when it was going to load a new level, unlike HL2 where you'd cross an invisible barrier and be greated by "loading...". Anyone who claims that HL2 maps are bigger than D3 maps, you obviously havent created a map in HL2 or D3. HL2 uses "Sky boxes" to fool you into thinking th map is a lot larger than it really is.

But guess what, you people continue to buy it, so they'll keep putting it out. Who's fault is it? Stop buying shit console games and maybe they'll start to listen!

Cheers. Problem is that gamers sent their message loud and clear with Halo 2.

I fell for that one.
