The first gate in the stormreach harbor area is a big double one that leads to the market place.

Explain to me again how the market place is outside of the city? I didn't say the harbor I said the city, and of the months I was in beta I never saw anywhere that wasn't just an instance with a door you click to get in.

You should apply for a PR job if nonexistent content is just being "kept under wraps."

Damn I wish DDO was even half the game it could be!

They think codemasters has a good idea, so they are just going to buy crappy asian MMOs and localize them, which is relatively easy since these games have jack shit for actual content.

Making your own MMO is a huge investment of time and money, changing the text from an asian one into english and shoving it out the door is a lot cheaper. Since none of these games are actually the big hits they claim to be its cheap to buy them, too.

Skipping almost all development costs leave them only with having to make a profit over the server costs, which probably arent too bad when you buy in bulk. So unfortunately they stand a decent chance to profit off whoever is drawn in by their lineage2 clone graphics and free beta on fileplanet.

Why is WEBZEN signing a deal to create another MMOG when they already have SUN (which I believe is out overseas) and Huxley in the works?

Publisher, not developer...

There is no outside of the city, afaik.

I applaud your willingness to risk sounding like a completely unrelevant fanboy moron!

If you are going to be calling people morons, at least use words that exist.

I can't even begin to imagine how horrible these "games" are going to be.

I can't wait to see how much money they lose when nobody plays these retarded gimmick MMOs, from devs who dont give a damn about them.

If they really want to fuck it up they can have Gandalf sitting in some newbie town handing out quests to kill 10 rabbits. Then it's just like you're part of the movie!!

How could you!

It is lineage 2 as far as I'm concerned.

Korean games want to copy L2 just like Western games copied EQ and now will try to recreate their own 'better' version of WoW.

They were having serious gameplay and technical problems not even a month ago and now the game is going live, not a shock, I suppose. I don't think codemasters is really committed to the game and will probably drop it if the numbers don't do well enough, I certainly wouldn't buy it.

It's sad to see how seriously people take diversions like games. Too bad it's not confined to games, fortunately people playing MMOs aren't all in a central location where they can go flip over cars and set them on fire.

So much venom is created by stuff like this, and I just can't figure out why. I think we need to start an organization that goes around slapping people and screaming it's just a game/sport/whatever. It's so disappointing that people can get enraged and decide to take action against something happening online in a virtual world, but recent events such as the illegal wiretapping in the US people don't seem to give a damn about, and that's just the way the government wants it to be.

The truth is these people wouldn't care if Hitler was the next president, as long as they got to watch their football, gamble online, and play their MMOs.

Yeah so this is free now so I decided to try it out. The big "racial quest" for my character was to pick up trash (not kidding) then a short fedex quest.

But I pressed on and leveled mostly by quests to see what they were like, there's all kinds of quests for like 1-10, way, way more than anyone actually needs to get to 10. But after 10 they really start dropping off, which I'm sure is a trend in the game. Not that they were really good quests anyway, kill x of these, take this package to that guy.. just standard boring filler crap you have in any game without a central storyline which is unfortunately the norm in MMOs.

The graphics are not very good, and in any area with more than like 4 people the game runs really bad even on lowish settings. It's the only game I wished everyone had helmets on because the actual hair and faces of models look so stupid, they have some of the most ridiculous hairstyles and mustaches I've ever seen and the way the models draw a lot of NPCs look crosseyed unless you zoom way in. One thing I will give them is the animations are quite good, probably motion captured though, which is why they seem so much better than anything else in the game artwise.

Still I got to 20 and it wasn't all that bad, I suppose if you have a $4000 system and don't mind buying an expansion every 4 months you could enjoy the game. After seeing where EQ went with its expansions though they aren't going to rip me off again.

Oh and as near as I could tell, they removed the level 20 weapon quests from the game, only to add level 20 weapons in the expansion so you have to pay for them now basically. Typical SOE.

They may hold off until they see a significant reduction in subscribers before releasing it.

Damn, you really picked your name accurately. Yeah, they only have 5 million people waiting to spend 40 bucks on the expansion, but they will sit on it until they think its going to bring enough people back... okay.

And I hate when people blame games for their friends turning into addicted morons, you are doing the same shit as people blaming school shootings on Doom. But I bet you completely disagree there, don't you?

What a stupid, stupid world we live in, where people get lawyers to fight for "gay rights" in MMORPGs.

In case you didn't read that the first time, LAYWERS! She actually called a LAWYER because the admins of a COMPUTER GAME did not want her spamming public chat with gay and lesbian guild recruitment messages.

In Everquest my server had a "gay friendly" guild, they never had to advertise in-game but somehow found members... imagine that!

Now we are going to have the fundamentalist christians trying to get WoW shut down because they are allowing gay people to sit around all day trying to recruit for their gay-only guilds, except instead of calling lawyers they will have Pat Robertson praying for god to kill all Blizzard employees.

I get the feeling anyone trying to form a straight-only guild would still be in trouble. Personally I don't care, at all, who people online in video games are sleeping with... I think it's funny these "gay" guilds are probably populated with guys pretending to be lesbians with other guys.

I think she has a super hot face, but pretty standard body

What the hell is a "standard" body? If you mean average I need to know where you live so I can move there.
