In like a year you should repost that image as a leaked screenshot from HL3.

Call of Duty 3 isn't going to be set 20 years in the future? Didn't they get the memo?

I loved Call of Duty, probably the only single player FPS I played through completely since Quake2. That being said, CoD2 was a huge disappointment, I had to force myself to beat it. I kept thinking it was going to get better, and it really didn't. So consoles can keep it, and the press releases promising a return to its gameplay roots.

Yeah, this is a good thing, for Brad's bank account. I think MS is ready to dump this like all the other MMOs they've gotten involved with.

Initial screens of the forests were impressive, but it's been downhill from there. It looks way too much like EQ2 now and initial reports from the beta say the game is a slideshow on normal computers. Having high system requirements seems like the worst move you can make to me, Blizzard was smart enough to see that and it paid off huge.

Sigil wants to recapture the 'hardcore' EQ audience but it just isn't going to happen. Everyone I know who was heavy into EQ is sick of that type of gaming and the next generation of MMO player is used to WoW style gameplay.

Skill plays quite a role in PVP... well, in American MMOs. True you don't have to aim, but you do have to keep constant awareness of everything going on around you, keep your cool when you get attacked and learn the most efficient way to fight every class of enemies.

On topic though, how do you develop an MMO so fast? Well for one, have ZERO CONTENT. People are not going to want to pay a monthly fee for this. Even if the PVP is fun, I don't think it will be $15/month fun with absolutely nothing to do and no open world, just arenas. They don't say anything about subscriptions though that I see, so maybe it isn't pay to play.

I'm looking forward to the Witcher, I have no idea why but I get the feeling it's going to be good. Usually I am pretty down on foreign (non-english) RPGs, since the only good one I can remember playing is Gothic.

My failed projects are old news. They are also everyones fault but my own. Now, let me tell you how awesome my new project is going to be!

Yes, I'm sure Carmack was heart broken, good thing he has all that money to dry his tears.

I like how him predicting something and turning out to be right is just a result of him being jealous of HL2. Physics are mostly a forgettable gimmick, it's not hard to see why they would have skipped them for Doom3. Sure the gravity gun is neat, but it doesn't make or break the game and neither does stacking crates.

I think by the time physics cards matter, if they ever do, they'll be included on graphics cards anyway. Maybe AGEIA can wait 10 years and start the patent suits.

Demand being 'high' for a beta doesn't mean much, so many people will sign up for anything that's free. I just can't believe these games so blatantly rip off each others graphics, probably a result of the korean MMO sweatshop that must exist.

Those guys are pretty balsy, actually.

I don't think he was being sarcastic. Anyway, this does sound boring. They should make a game based on living in the airforces space station! You know, the one they show the girl floating in on TV, tracking storms.

I doubt they know, or care, if the texture existed in the original game files. They are just covering their asses because they have a popular game with female characters in it, which these days is a magnet for politicians and lawyers. Isn't it funny that games today have to pretend sex doesn't exist, while on the TV ads Lara is seductively telling you shes waiting?

In most RPGs sex is used to add character and humor to the game, and even though they never have anything explicit on screen, nobody will dare put those kinds of things in games anymore. Think of Baldurs Gate 2 with no relationship paths, Fallout without a pornstar trait... but, blowing someones brains all over the wall, perfectly OK!

First, this game will suck no matter what genre it is. Second...

The MMOG subscriber base is growing at a rate that the current quality of products cannot keep up with.

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!?

Please take my money SOE! If you don't, I'll probably just try to eat it or stick it up my nose.

The most pathetic thing is a lot of EQ2 players think they are superior beings for not playing that "kiddie" game like everyone else.

So playing a console called Wii would make you an idiot? Doesn't take much, hmm?

Shouldn't people be more worried about the actual games and not the name? Are you afraid chicks won't be as impressed by your consoles if they don't have cool names?

I actually think they had trouble getting the trademark for Revolution, so they decided to make up a word and get even more free press than the remote did.

I really hope people give it a try, as I think they will be pleasantly surprised.

The hell? Shouldn't that say 'We know everyone on the planet is eagerly awaiting a chance to sample this genre-smashing masterpiece, and on May 10th we will allow human beings to taste heaven for the first time with our highly anticipated interactive demo of TITAN QUEST, the first in what will surely be one of the most successful new franchises of the millenium.'

I'm not a fan of DDO, but I don't think a trial means the game is failing. The game hasn't been out long enough to decide it's 'failed' yet. I think they just decided the initial wave of people who will buy without playing (since I can hardly believe anyone who played the beta paid for this) is over and now they need to get the people who want to try it first.

Only giving 7 days is pretty smart, since then most people will only get a few chances to play they might not realize how tedious the game gets.

Where is this WoW Trial? I've never seen it on this site. Unless you mean the friend pass that came with the CE, a beta event, or a subscriber only fileplanet thing.

ANet wants people to clear out their inventories to promote trade, rather than keeping 'cool' items to themselves.

Instead of seeing it as a cheap way to exploit their existing customers for yet more cash, they are merely trying to improve the game! Unless of course you pay them, then they don't give a damn what you do with your items.

With the planned release schedule for the expansions (at full game prices), the lack of a monthly fee is not even a valid argument anymore.

How long until we pay for patches?
