If anyone's still on the fence: I have nearly 150 hours in AC: Odyssey, and haven't even finished it yet. I just recently started the Legacy of the First Blades expansion, and haven't even begun the Atlantis expansion yet.

The Discovery Tour mode is truly stunning. I've probably spent hours just standing on the Acropolis in Athens watching the city below. The detail on the Parthenon alone demonstrates how much they cared about the setting. To be able to see the ancient Greek world recreated is a joy, and a perfect relaxed escape for Pandemic-era confinement.

All empathy to you, wife, and family, Blue.

This site and your work do a lot to help get us through dark days, and we only wish to reciprocate a tiny sliver of that comfort you always offer right back at you.

Thanks for all that you do, Blue. Hope you can find some peace (and maybe play some games!) during an undoubtedly stressful time.

Run a malware scan. malwarebytes.com

I have Malwarebytes, ran that and then CCleaner, nothing turned up indicating something malicious. I run Avira as my AV, I'll run a thorough scan tonight probably.

To be specific, I got the Facebook browser link when I clicked on this free game(Obduction) through Gog Galaxy version 1.2.56, at the time, I think that button on their page had at least some Twitter mini tag(and possibly a Facebook tag) embedded in the bottom, that seems to have been removed now that I've reloaded Galaxy a few hours later.

Rage... has subsided.

I had the same thing happen. Quit Galaxy and reloaded it, and it stopped.

Blue, I missed this news, but just wanted to offer my sincerest sympathies to you and Mrs. Blue. I lost my mom this Spring, and your website and your stories about your adventures with your canine family members (Hudson RIP) have done a lot to help through a very difficult time.

Many thanks for all the work you do, and may the Gunnar-man continue to live on with us via bluesnews.com.

Stellar doc, thanks. It's so completely representative of how culture and early PC technology were inseparable and shackled to business. Warhol painting Debbie Harry on an Amiga seems like the ultimate metaphor.

The Amiga was a sort of Holy Grail or Yeti in my area - sightings were rare and awe inspiring. I'll never forget seeing Cinemaware's It Came From the Desert running on an Amiga in a Software ETC store around 1990. It absolutely stunned me that computers were capable of that level of output.

Glad this did not switch to mobiles only yet

Instead they just patched CIV5 to include a near full-screen AD for this game on launch, with a new launcher, that you are now forced to look at EVERY TIME YOU LAUNCH CIV5

Super SUPER scummy behavior by 2K

A new advertisement motivated launcher that no one wanted, directed at the Civ 5 player base. Which is STILL bigger than 6. I wish Civ5 was on GoG.

Hopefully this 2nd DLC for Civ6 is the last, and they finally admit the game was just plain mediocre and move on (wishful thinking).

For those interested it's currently at an all time low according to isthereanydeal at $16.37 USD on GMG due to their summer sale.

The last "free weekend" for SoW was only a limited demo of the 1st chapter tutorial. But I guess any demo in 2018 is pretty rare regardless.

Thanks for the heads up. I was considering buying this but at $80 CDN they're on crack. $20 might just do it. Is it as grindy and repetitious as the first one though? If you I'll wait a while yet. Mebbe grab it in Rocktober.

Yeah, still waiting here too. If there's going to be a "Game of the Year" version with all the DLC, around the 1 year release anniversary in Oct sounds about right for it to come out.

FYI if you're thinking about downloading this:

1. the download is 106GB on Steam
2. apparently it's not a "free weekend" but just a limited demo of the first chapter tutorial.

Hope this saves you the 2 min I just wasted realizing this.

They are specifically addressing illicit uses, not a so-called "no-holds barred attack" in general or an "elimination." Even this FUD Reuters article states that "the choice to invest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be open to end users" in India. You can smell the fear from the traditional financial middlemen that this tech will serve to render redundant.

Increased regulation of this technology may have the opposite effect of destroying it: these statements by governments serve to legitimize the tech and it's power. Regulations on the market and the reduction of volatility will likely draw in more risk-averse investors, raising the market cap and subsequently their demand and value.

Regulations and normalization of this blockchain/token industry are inevitable, but due to its massive potential only the most backward governments will ever consider outright banning it. Welcome to the new future.

I don't know how this would actually translate to video game sales, but there are approximately 2.5 billion Cricket fans worldwide from Australia to South Asia to the Windies.

Compare this to American Football with something like ~500 million total.

Regardless, doubtful that this is going to compete with the Madden juggernaut.

They made this DLC free to their Kickstarter backers, at all tiers. Lots of goodwill for this small company, can't wait to see what they do for GD next.

Really excited for this game, in particular the ability to race your friends. But disappointed as usual in EA's exclusionary Origin-only policy. Give in to the the Steam hegemony!

The "We Know" with the hand at the end of the trailer alludes to the Dark Brotherhood, so hopefully if they have a new questline/guild for them that's at least one exciting addition.

GOG all the way... DRM free so no need for these unwanted proprietary gateways.

Now that they sell contemporary games as well, if actually given the choice I just buy it on there (i.e. Witcher 3, Wasteland 2, etc.).

I'm a Pens fan, they kind of imploded a couple of games ago and just never picked it up again. Just disappointing to watch another year of them hitting a wall and aside from a few players all but giving up.

I live in MN, though, and you kind of have to love the Wild here. I'm actually more depressed about them losing last night, but that was a hell of a game and one of the best playoff series I've seen...both of theirs have been, their series with the Avs was great, too.

Both of my favorite teams ending their seasons on the same night made for a pretty shitty night, though :p

I share your pain... it felt empty and hollow this morning with no motivation to check the hockey news, for the first time in many months. There's no doubt we have a bright future with the Wild though. And with perspective, our pain has nothing on Coyle playing the last two games with TWO separated shoulders.

Anyway - go Rangers now! Hoping for a NY-LA final.
