Colton White? Coudln't they have come up with a better name?

Maybe adding Injun Redd to the game would help.
The irony is that Colton _is_ the son of an Indian as he finds out at the end of the game.

I would love to catch Carmack's speech, but neither the GGL site nor the Quakecon site lists when the keynote is, or where the streaming links are (going to be).

I have a little mouse toy on a bungie cord for my kitten that gives out an electronic beeping sound and they seem to have found just the right balance between amusing the cat and not driving me crazy. Yet.

It's also helpful for finding him anywhere in the apartment. Just beep it a few times and kitty comes running...

I have it on authority that the game will still have a public master server.

#5, The ping prolem was definitely _not_ GameSpy Arcade's fault. The servers mainly slowed down because the game itself was not properly disconnecting players in the UnrealScript that was handling the connection of new players. This server slowdown produced ping times that were off, both in the server list and when connecting and playing on servers. This was resolved by the developer in their first patch and the game has since performed much better in GameSpy Arcade.

Please don't make posts based on misinformation if you weren't involved in the debugging of this problem between the developer and GameSpy.

FYI, this is one of the 2 problems that caused the initial America's Army: Operations server problems.

#8,

Not true. You will still need to redownload it, or the in-game server browser will not know how to request a server list.

I didn't like Tram too much. Way too big. I'm more of a Beach or Trench Toast kind of guy.

You haven't even SEEN the game yet. You're discarding a game because you didn't like a block of text in a press release?

And before that it was Natural Resistance

Likely Simon & Schuster wanted to brand it with a name that they can copyright, so they refrained from using the old name.

I don't understand... These are free demos! I'm sure most of you have spiffy fast broadband connections and can download this in minutes (or let it run while you're watching TV, eating, walking the dog etc).

You would rather take some person's opinion from a message board that you never met than spend about 15 minutes to try it out?

Sure some people are on dialup or pay for internet access by traffic, but how lazy can you get!

The master server info changed already. The leaked demo probably won't let you find servers.

Carbon 6 (American McGee's company) is involved with this title. Notice the reference to Abuse and How Dave Taylor (developer behind Abuse) is also a part of Carbon 6?

Maybe they have the rights to the textures?

Secret Level actually did the Dreamcast port of UT (using GameSpy tech to power matchmaking no less ).
