Kudos, Blue, for pointing out the 2001 anniversary (one of my favorite films)! You're obviously a man of culture and good taste.

The Blu-ray on my HDTV (65" 1080p DLP) with the Digital Surround and all that, is just MIND BLOWING!!!

If it was first-person, my friends and I all would have all gotten this by now. In a shooter you need first-person. We await the next installment (if they ever do another) and hope they add it.

Oh, bots as well. Sometimes only a couple of us can jump in and play whatever game, and we like to have bots to at least fill up our matches when there's only a couple of us playing (just so there's more action and chaos and stuff). No bots? We don't buy (when it comes to shooters at least). We don't pub, only play private.

Bottom line is, if this is basically going to be like Left 4 Dead, but with dinosaurs and co-op and versus style game modes, then you can definitely count me in!!

All part of the master plan....one more DLC for L4D2 (possibly L4D1 as well, but don't hold your breath), along with the slow inevitable ports of Blood Harvest, Dead Air and Death Toll to L4D2;

I have a feeling those ports will be the next DLC for L4D2 (they'll call it "The Legacy" or something).

And from your lips to god's ears on an upcoming L4D3 announcement. I persoanlly can't wait for the next one!

Well technically, it's on YouTube (via Webhallen.com). Videosift is just embedding/linking to it.

I'm just waiting for the imminent Borderlands level balancing patch this month! That's all I care about right now from Gearbox. DNF? Bah. I honestly can't get excited for that anymore no matter how hard I try.

BTW, Borderlands is absolutely AWESOME fun--especially if you have three friends to co-op it with! That's key. I can still enjoy it OK single player (though some people hate it that way) but it's no where near as fun as co-op. Most of the people that make comments about not liking it played it by themselves most likely. I've not seen many who played it with friends (and for more than just one session) who didn't love it, warts and all. Great game.

Or, you could have gotten the base game for $10 and all the DLC (except the claptrap one) for another $10 on the steam sale recently.

Which is exactly what my friends and I did a couple weeks back. And we're having INSAAAANE fun with it! So, bargain of the century for us.

But yeah, this game rocks (especially when playing with three friends)!

My three friends and I just got in on the 4-pack Borderlands deal and played it Friday night. So far we're loving it! But I agree, it does stink slightly of console here and there (aim-assist as a menu option on the PC version? ...And it defaults to ON?!), but once we tweaked it a bit in the .ini's (per a sticky in the steam forum) we got it feeling a lot better and the gameplay is so fun and addicting (especially with 3 other people!) that we quickly overlooked some of the wonky menu/UI weirdness.

Main thing that helped us was turning OFF mouse smoothing--which you have to edit in an .ini because it also defaults to ON and there's no option whatsoever to turn it off in the game's menu! Not cool. Because at first we all thought the game felt kind of floaty and laggy when aiming and looking around (our rigs are fine), but then when we discovered that the game secretly has mouse smoothing going by default and that you can turn it off with a quick .ini edit, well then it felt much better and more like the PC FPSes we're all used to.

Been gaming for years every weekend with 5 or 6 close friends and we ONLY play private games with just us (no public servers with strangers--which we've tried and it always ends in frustration because most human beings are idiots). Which means (when it comes to most shooters like this) we usually only pick games that have bots to play with/against to round out our teams and add lots more action and chaos.

We'd all really like to play this but it has no bots (aside from its training mode), so we have to pass on it. Sometimes there's only 4 of us so I doubt matches with only 2 per side would be very exciting. Please add bots, Fatshark!!!

Concept art. Eh, at this point I'd much rather see actual in-game screenshots.

I mean, all the original GW1 concept arts are still incredibly beautiful to look at (as paintings and drawings go), but come on, when you're actually in the game, most locations do NOT look like their concept art (goes for most games). And understandably so, but still. This is why, at this point, seeing GW2 concept art just isn't exciting me very much (even though I can't wait for the game!).

Yep, for all the exact same reasons everyone else has already pointed out below me, I run (and have for years) an ad blocker...and I love it.

I don't mind at all TEXT ads and ad links, or even static image ads, but the very distracting animated flashy ones and the pop-ups that make it hard to close on purpose? No. Way. I can't abide those at all.

This article's funny, though, because there was just a different well publicised article a few weeks back making the rounds, about how Google says ad blockers are GOOD for the industry. Funny.

Upcoming. Ha. Previews and articles keep making it sound like it's actually imminent, when really, it's still like a couple years away. So stuff like this doesn't excite me much in the here and now.

Private servers costing = QL fail Dec 9, 2009, 17:29

Eh, I was really into the whole QL idea when it first opened and envisioned my regular gaming group getting into it and making it a regular part of our weekly gaming routine, but the few times we tested it early on, we had lots of trouble getting into an empty server with *just us*, and then being able to keep it just us, with no random strangers crashing our party and messing it all up.

But someone would be a few seconds late getting in or maybe lose connection for a minute (there were a lot of bugs back then, not sure if that's changed by now) and bam, Uber Lifers always jumped in and started ordering us around and owning everyone. Constantly having to kick people was a hassle, so in the end, it just all wasn't worth the effort. We split, planning to return when they added private, PW-protected servers (which they kept saying they were going to do "soon".

Nail in the coffin was when I heard they were finally about to add them--but that they'd be a "premium" option, for paying customers only. No thanks. We wrote QL off our list then and there. I understand they need to fund this some way, but early on they promised it would all be ad-based and that QL would always be FREE to play. In tough times like these, none of us are in any mood to pay cash money for something like this when we can all just reinstall Q3 if we ever really want to play this old game that bad.
