AlexSledge wrote on Dec 10, 2014, 14:59: I don't know why anyone brings up customer service. What are you doing that you need customer service from Steam or any other of these places? I've got over 10 years in Steam, and well over half a K of games in the library, and I've never once even considered the existence of customer service for Steam much less the need for it.
Good for you! Cool story bro! I've contacted them multiple times in my 11 years (and if we are comparing epeen, I have an under 15k steam id, and well over a whole K of steam games) from failings like not including a DLC in a complete package, not processing my payment correctly when their overloaded poorly designed servers are going nuts during a sale, not including promised pre sale bonuses, and other issues. Each time it was horrible. It tends to take over a week to respond, and it's a form response. Then the resolution is generally unsatisfactory. Taking a week to respond means for instance the sale item I'm trying to buy isn't on sale anymore. If valve would at least be able to reliably take the money I throw at them, I'd be much happier

There's a new Sierra logo too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzIoQLAmEs0
Looks like it's still owned by Activision, but they are farming out the brand to make a new KQ. Hope it turns out ok. I'd like to see the return of Sierra, even if it's under someone else.
Then again, with Activision, we are likely to see DLC! Ugh |

Blue, I don't believe this is anything to do with key resellers since key numbers are not steam tradable. The announcement also doesn't mention it. Here's text of announcement:
All new games purchased as a gift and placed in the purchaser's inventory will be untradable for 30 days. The gift may still be gifted at any time. The only change is to trading.
We've made this change to make trading gifts a better experience for those receiving the gifts. We're hoping this lowers the number of people who trade for a game only to have the game revoked later due to issues with the purchaser's payment method. |

Darks wrote on Nov 25, 2014, 11:14: Thats a bullshit policy change. Steam is getting to political. Seems reasonable to me. Should help keep people from getting ripped off so easily. If people are getting ripped off then there's a flaw in the way Steam is setup. Making people wait 30 days is not going to change how this works nor will it prevent people from getting ripped off. Steam needs to fix the problem and not put a band-aid on it. The flaw is that douchebags (criminals really) either steal credit cards or do xhrgebacks to get the money back after trading. Valve didn't plan for this to be exploited. They are essentially closing an exploit. Waiting 30 days to trade should reduce this issue. And someone can still gift them, so it doesn't stop gift buying.
It has nothing to do with key resellers. That Grey market is still there. You can't steam trade key numbers. |

Now you know where the parties stand.
Where do you stand on the issue?
The Prez words: "Ever since the Internet was created, it's been organized around basic principles of openness, fairness and freedom," Obama said in the video posted on the White House website.
"There are no gatekeepers deciding which sites you get to access. There are no toll roads on the information superhighway," he said. "Abandoning these principals would threaten to end the Internet as we know it." That all sounds well and good. But what's missing is how classifying the internet as a utility with far more regulations will get us thete |

I think the email update said something about how they don't want to add anything in new stretch that will change things up too much, but that every extra dollar will increase overall game quality.

the FPS module isn’t an aside… it’s a fully featured game in and of itself Great...? I know that when everyone was clamoring for more space games, what they all REALLY meant was "There aren't enough FPS games out there, we need them IN our space games too!"
No worries, it will be a fantastic FPS with an arcade game inside it that will be a space Sim. J/k Seriously, that's how I feel, that they are focusing on MMO aspects and things like micro transactions and kitchen sinks, rather than the fracking single player space game I backed for! |

Everyone Invisible Can see the weapon fire Stuff in the environment easily disturbed (has movement as you walk by)
No real need for "screen cheating"... just watch the environment / other's gun fire and take pot shots. If you hit they become bloody visible just before they die or explode or whatever. Problem with that is that everyone would camp... Well you could have to have it so shooting would be super obvious. Like if you shot it would send out a big ping on the map or some such. That way you'd have to move between shooting. |

Are these guys free to go on their way with sacks of cash regardless of how it was generated since it's now outside control of KS or does KS reserve some right to withhold that money and cancel the project, post-funding? After its funded it would be lawsuit time if they didn't deliver. So yes theoretically the could run with all the money about 2 or 3 weeks after it funds. |

In fact, looks like current greenlight titles have more than half no votes lol.
Valve doesn't really care, they just want to keep bringing new content without having to spend the time vetting it first. |
