Wow you guys are cry babies...just get on battle.net and play, you don't care about achievement and stats? then ignore them! they only force you to connect on battle.net for multiplayer which is nothing new for online gaming. If you don't wanna buy the game just because you have to connect on battle.net to play, then stop logging on Steam, Xbox Live, PSN, any MMO, RA3/C&C3 and all other stuff of the kind where you're forced to logon to play online.

I really have an hard time understanding some the complains here, I understand the ones who want play in a real LAN centers but if all you were doing is bring your computer to a friend house so you can play "in person", you'll still be able to do it as long as there is a router (which most people have). The only differences this time is that everyone will need to buy the game (oh noes!) and everyone will have connect on Battle.net. In the end, it will be the same as before: playing in person with your friends.

I'm with what LMN8R said, people are overreacting again. It might be an issue for people with restricted internet but other than that, just log on Battle.net and play the game, it's not like there was a monthly fee.

One of the reasons for no LAN is the obvious piracy and also because hackers could use the LAN option to find flaws in the network just like they did with Diablo 2.

We all may love it, but not the ESRB etc.

IIRC Duke3d was 17+ with notice of violence and sex and no one gave a damn, the game still sold a lot.

As far as I noticed, the PS3 doesnt sell much because:

1. It's the most expensive console atm

2. Most console gamers just prefer to play their games on the 360, most games are available to both consoles but the 360 has lot more exclusivities than the PS3

3. Graphics and framerate are most of the time always better on the 360

4. Even tho PSN is free to play online, there is just a lot more people and a lot more games to play on Xbox Live.

5. While having a Blueray reader is interesting, gamers want to play games first and with all the advantages the 360 has, the Blueray option is not enough of a feature to get more sells.

I don't get the outrage.

I don't get it either, sure I'm disappointed but some people feel betrayed way too much if you ask me. This reminds me of the Hellgate/Bill Roper hatefest, some people are way too emotional.

Good luck playing a fighting game with a keyboard.

I do since 1994 on Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3 on PC and I still do today in Street Fighter Alpha 3, King of Fighters, Street Fighter 3 and other SNK/Capcom fighting games on arcade emulators, I'm actually better on keyboard than on a controller, your point?

Didn't they at one point say that only level 80's would be able to Dual Spec?

Yes they did when they first announced it.

The most interesting feature imo is the addition of skirmish with computer AI and being able to do it in multiplayer as well. The "high resolution" feature is nice but you can see how the game was not made for this resolution so there is some limitations. It's a really nice patch overall.

Id is not a leader anymore imo, Doom4 better return to what Doom was back in the day or it will be a failure again :\ I mean...Doom3 was "ok" but the old DOOM 1/2 and even Quake 2 and 3 were much better gameplay wise.

"Co-op was discussed, but in the end we determined that Wolfenstein is the story of B.J. Blazkowicz fighting against the Nazis and it didn’t make sense in terms of the story to have two of him running around."

sigh....we're in 2009 and we still have designer with that mentality? It's a freaking game, who cares if each players play the hero? people want to have fun. See, that's part of why there was a lot more fun games before, because the priority was fun, not realism.

It's called getting the torrented version. That's what I do and I haven't had a problem with Securom ever.

For offline games that's not a problem, but for online games where you need to buy the game to play online, cracks are useless.

@Beamer, hell yeah I remember, PC version of every NHL made for the PSX/N64 were much better. Now the console version (at least the 360 version) blow the crap out of the PC version :\

NHL95 PC was pretty hot back in the day, same with PC version of NHL98 and 99, imo.

Wow, this guy must think we're all clueless. Hey, what about showing patch links/news in-game or at the official page? What about giving an in-game error message when the server you connect see that you don't have the last version? It's not hard to advertise patches.

The fact that they release no demo sure doesnt help preventing piracy. Gamers usually wanna try their game before buying them, if there is no demo version of the game, what do you think happen? they download the game or ask a friend that has the game. I'm not saying everyone does that but it sure would help to have demos for each games.

Btw I bought the game and I like it, coop campaign ftw

I have a 20gb cap at 8$ for every 1gb over the cap and I'm sick of it so 250gb at 15$ for every 10gb over the cap is very generous imo. My connection doesn't throttle tho, yay.

People should seek information about other distributors before saying no steam no buy because if you look at Gamersgate for example, all you do is:

1. Buy the game on their site and receive a cd-key
1. Download and install their download manager
2. Download the retail game installer via their download manager
3. Install the game
4. Uninstall their download manager
5. Play the game
6. Burn the game installer on a CD or DVD.

You basically pay to download an ISO of a game that include online validations to prevent illegal uses, you won't even notice the online checkups and it doesnt use 3rd party programs to do it.
