I just played Core Keeper with the Free Weekend. While it took me an hour or so to warm up to it, I ended up playing it quite a bit over the weekend. I will probably pick it up when I have more time and my current Game Pass sub expires. It is basically a top-down version of Minecraft or Terraria.

EDIT: I just noticed it was also released to Game Pass. That being said, I can see myself spending many hours in the game and it is probably worth the $20 purchase.

"Olden Era" doesn't roll off the tongue very smoothly, but I am not against a new Heroes of Might and Magic game. Hopefully they are a bit more compelling than the more recent sequels.

I loved the first one and look forward to trying this one once I get through some other games on my playlist.

I like these demo changes and I like the return of demos. I've recently played a few demos that I ended up liking and buying (or wishlisting for later).

This seems to be a response to Dragon Age 2. The problem wasn't the reuse of assets, it was using the exact same room multiple times in different areas without rearranging anything. At least move some chairs or whatever around so it looks like a unique location.

It is a fact that I am the only one who has ever purchased a game from the Epic Game Store and installed a free game and played it.
I guarantee it.

You are not the only one, but it seems we are a rare breed. Epic gave away a few games that had been lingering on my wishlist and they became some of my favorites: Kingdom Come, Subnautica, Shadow Tactics, and Death Stranding. It also saved me from buying a few games that ultimately didn't click with me. Lastly, I used their bonus sale coupon to get a couple of games for really cheap (coupon+sale).

The Atari 2600 was my first console and I've been eyeing this anniversary collection. However, I am not one to play these old simplistic games too much. I believe it also doesn't have any Activision games, which were some of the best games for the system. I've been waiting for a decent sale, but it hasn't quite dropped low enough yet for me.

I enjoyed the first Hellblade to a small extent. It has great visuals and atmosphere. The combat is simple but flashy and I didn't mind it myself. That being said, it is bordering on a walking simulator and that only goes so far for me. I prefer more gameplay.

I probably would have waited a year or more for a heavy sale on Hellblade 2, but I am on GamePass and decided to give it a try. I just finished the opening hour a few minutes ago. So far it feels like more of the same, though definitely next level on the visuals.

I plan to continue playing, but I do hope it expands the gameplay as things progress.

what did you think of the finale? after much thought, i think it would've been better had it been 2 hrs long with a build up to the battle of sekigahara. it was well written as is and fit the tone of the show as a character drama, but the neanderthal in me really craved the bloody justice of a hard fought battlefield victory.

While I did enjoy Shogun, I was also somewhat let down by the finale. It basically tells you the ending rather than play it out. While that may be how the book does it as well, TV is a different medium and I think it should have followed are more "show don't tell" philosophy in this case.

My friends have twins and they were quite strict in having them not use phones or tablets as kids (and limited their tv use a fair bit). While this is anecdotal, they are smarter and better off than many other kids that I know.

I already have Legend of Grimrock which was a spiritual remake of Dungeon Master. This has to be overwhelmingly better to dethrone my love for that game and inspire a purchase.

I love Legend of Grimrock as well, but keep in mind this is a remaster of the first Wizardry game from 1980 with modern graphics and user interface. It is a forefather of Dungeon Master which came out in 1988.

Wow. I am a fan of the classic Wizardry series, but I somehow missed this remaster until now. It looks well done and the reviews are great.

Wow. I've never gone from excited to completely uninterested so quickly. I don't see how this has anything to do with the classic Yars Revenge.

It looks to be also coming out as a Day One release on Game Pass as well. That being said, I played the first game on Game Pass and I liked it so much that I eventually bought on Steam (during a good sale).

I was a big fan of Hexen and Heretic as a kid. I played the demo of Graven a couple of years ago and it was okay at best. I was hoping it might improve through Early Access, but the reviews are appear mixed. I think I will pass for now.

I enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn when I played it earlier this year, though it did wear thin by the end. Is the sequel fresh enough to warrant a play through or is it just more of the same?

You can definitely hold off and pick this one up later if you just played Zero Dawn recently, unless you're heavily invested in the story and world, which Forbidden West does a good job expanding on.

In terms of gameplay it does have some improvements, but not enough to keep it fresh if Zero Dawn was wearing thin by the end. Also some parts were a regression as you have to do some machine farming to unlock overriding for the more powerful machines when you complete their cauldron which felt a bit tedious.

I finished it recently and at some point in my playthrough just decided to push the main story to complete it. I haven't played the DLC so I might pick this up on PC at some point in the future to play that.

Thanks for the reply. I did enjoy the first one and its world. I will probably give it a go once it has a better sale price. Hopefully the break between playthroughs will help freshen it up a bit
