You should. I love Subnautica. But as I recall, Subnautica was somewhat buggy out of the gate so I don't think you need to rush to start this one.

I already bought Below Zero during a sale, but I am also going to wait a short while to make sure any major bugs are worked out (as I do with most games these days). However, from what I've read, Below Zero is more of a Subnautica 1.5 than a full sequel. Hopefully all the fixes they added in the first game are already built into the new game. I haven't seen many complaints about any major bugs in the reviews, though I have been mostly skimming to the summary to avoid any potential spoilers.

For a moment I was excited for what I thought was the sequel to The Talos Principle.

Whatever the case, it could be an interesting retro 2D game. It reminds me a bit of Castlevania 2 or Faxanadu. I am not always a fan of story rich games though, I am more into gameplay than heavy reading.

I love the world.

Not my normal type of game but this looks interesting.

Same group made Sunless Sea and Fallen London. Fallen London is a free browser game and seems mostly text and art based. Sunless sea seems similar to Sunless Sky.

Anybody try any of these? Is the actual game-play halfway decent?

I enjoyed Sunless Seas, but it definitely isn't for everyone. It is a highly atmospheric survival and exploration game that requires some patience. It is also story-rich and reminds me of the old Choose Your Own Adventure Games (if you are old enough to remember those).

Sunless Seas certainly doesn't hold your hand. I had my own little sea journel to keep track of various ports for what they do and sell. I think the story and economic pacing could have been a been quicker. Part of the problem is that if you die, you restart the story with a new sailor, which was a major complaint.

I hear the Sunless Skies fixes a lot of the weaknesses of the first game. I own the sequel, but I've been waiting for the Sovereign Edition to actually play it (which was announced a long while ago).

I just recently played through Prey (2017) and it gave me similar feelings as the original Bioshock game. It is not quite open world, but I think Bioshock using the similar semi-open concept would be awesome.

Interesting. I was a fan of the original game. I also liked Desperados 3, though I preferred the samurai theme.

Yeah I came in to say the same thing. But since I'm here I'll say that I was surprised by how much I liked the first, considering that I'm about as far from a dreamy teenage girl in a hipster high school who likes indie music as you can get.

I enjoyed the first one as well and I am also not in that generation. Did you play the Life is Strange 2? I was waiting for the full game to get released, but the later episodes seem to have mixed reviews and so I've been hesitant.

I think the title was meant to say Life is Strange: True Colors and Life is Strange: Remastered Collection.

I recently played Doom Eternal on xBox Game Pass and I also didn't like it much (I enjoyed the previous one). With a 90% positive rating on Steam (and most of the negatives complaining about Denuvo), I thought I was the only one. It doesn't seem to be entirely the case if the comments on here are any indication.

I do like collectable card games, but I've never played this. Does it have any kind of single player aspect like Slay the Spire or some campaign mode? I looked on the official page, but it doesn't seem to mention much about gameplay options.

These 1980s arcade games should be in a "Ziggurat Game Pack" for $10, not individual games for $6-$7 each.

The French Court's preliminary decision is that Frogwares is in the wrong and that Nacon can continue selling the game. With all the drama, I don't think the game would still be on Steam by now if Nacon was selling the game illegally.

The video Frogwares published shows how Nacon is engaging in the illegal theft of Frogwares' IP. It made the point that the version of the game Nacon cracked/hacked and uploaded to Steam is the Deluxe edition of The Sinking City from an online store called Gamesplanet (Frogwares authorize this website to sell the game). That edition includes content outside the scope of the contract with Nacom. Further adding insult to injury, Nacon isn't paying Frogwares for Steam purchases.

Again, if this is the case, why did the court side with Nacon to continue publishing the game and why is the game still up on Steam?

Unless people have more details about the case that they can criticize, I don't see why they should side with Frogwares. I am willing to change my mind with more evidence. However, it seems to me that some people just think that all publishers are evil and therefore just assume that Nacon is the bad guy here.

I didn't realize this was still around. I tried it early on and the world design seemed kind of haphazard.

I'm not usually pro-big business and I am open to a different take, but I am not sure this is a positive direction for European gamers. If they have a single price for games, gamers in Eastern Europe with generally lower income will have to pay extreme prices for their games in comparison to their income. That is the reason for geoblocking, so people in lower income countries can afford games and people in higher income countries can't cheat and grab a game for cheaper.

For sure. I was such a big fan of their previous Enemy Territory and I thought it couldn't fail. I was planning on joining a clan and doing some league/tournament matches, but I only played it for about 10 hours in the end.
