I had something like this on one of my flights. It was hilarious and a good way to lighten the mood before a long trip.

It is just being officially discontinued and replaced by Farmville 2 and the upcoming Farmville 3. With the mobile launch of 3, I wonder if they are trying to distance themselves from Facebook.

the first half was actually great, the second half - you find out none of your choices matter, you find out some magic kid orchestrated it all, and then you find out the different endings only resuilt in different colored explosions. Yeah, they did some weak add on to do a "after the end" conclusion.

It is a legitimate criticism that the ending was mediocre and your choices didn't make a huge difference (though they still affect some things). However, dismissing the entire game (or series) on its concluding chapter is silly to me. It is more about the journey than the final destination (which also wasn't that terrible, especially with the later update).

I've been eyeing No Man's Sky and its improvements for a while now, but haven't been quite motivated to purchase it yet. I know one of the last major complaints was that all the worlds feel pretty much the same. This seems to change that and it might be soon worth playing now.

As someone who checks his wishlist/follow news on a regular basis, I like the new condensed view. I just wish I could bring the official Steam news into it as well (rather than being in a separate section).

I liked the first game, but it did run out of steam for me by the end (although I did finish it). I haven't been compelled to play the sequel, which only seemed to have a lukewarm reception (especially with later episodes). Any opinions about it?

heh. I wonder if they're gonna announce EGS is going to give it away after all.

It could the case since Sept 10th is a Thursday (the day of Epic freebies). I am going to guess this: A major new update, along with the free release to Epic. The countdown would be over-dramatic and anti-climatic for it to only be an Epic freebie (since we pretty much already know about it). I am also going to guess it is for the following week (Sept 17th), since next week's freebies are already announced (and are fairly decent).

Edit: The countdown is also announced on their Steam page. I don't think they would do that if it was purely the Epic freebie.

This came from the devs of Satellite Reign, another game that didn't quite mesh and was left in a broken state with numerous unresolved bugs. They then stonewalled the community when the community asked to be allowed to fix those bugs.

I did not notice that it was made by the same devs. I actually liked Satellite Reign, though it got repetitive after a while. I don't remember it being overly buggy. However, I played it quite a while after it was released and maybe they fixed the bigger issues.

It does look interesting, but the reviews are negative. It seems as though the various mechanics don't come together in a very compelling or seamless way.

I have to admit, I do not remember this series at all.....and I played alot of games during those years .

Despite also being on the NES and SNES (my childhood consoles), I don't remember seeing this game either. Maybe it wasn't as popular in North America and/or on those systems.

Whatever the case, a fast paced futuristic shoot-em up Metroidvania could be interesting (the original seems to an early version of that). I would be less interested in a straightforward platformer though.

I've been considering getting a VR headset in the near future, but this is definitely one mark against Oculus. This is despite the fact that I actually have a Facebook account (for Messenger). I don't see why I need my Facebook account to use a VR headset.

I was a big fan of G.I. Joe as a kid, but the trailer didn't invoke much nostalgia or interest. It looks like a colourful action game with little depth. Never-the-less, I might check it out if the reviews are decent. I am already skeptical though.

I played this many years ago, but never quite finished it. I wouldn't be against revisiting it with an updated version. That being said, I've already got a bunch of indie games to play and I am not sure I would spend much on an update of the same basic game. Hopefully, it is heavily discounted (or even free) for previous owners.

I really like the GOG Galaxy Platform. I don't connect it to Steam, but I've been using it to bring together all the free games I've grabbed from the other various storefronts.

I certainly don't agree with the Christian, but has the world gotten so soft and sensitive that people can't just snicker at, debate with, and/or simply ignore a religious fundamentalist?

You are right, it'd be nice if people all around de-escalated. Please inform the police to stop treating the people they ostensibly exist to protect as the enemy, killing and assaulting them at will.

However you, and TenNapel, are making the same prejudiced mistake that seems to be occurring quite often, sometimes deliberately: confusing the actions of some statistically insignifcant portion of violent rioters with what has been an overwhelmingly non-violent (on the protestor side) movement.

I know, it's human to have a hard time to separate individuals from a group, mentally, but it's something everyone has to work on, so you don't end up judging many by the actions of a few. It's easy to get confused by this last bit, as right wing media loves to focus on an individual bad actor and claim all the millions of protestors across the country are the same way.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you and I welcome some clarification. However, it seems to me that in the first part of your post you are doing the very thing you are criticizing in the latter part of your post. That is, you are assuming all police are bad rather than a smaller subsection (which definitely exists and is a problem).

I was looking at the list of games and I don't see a single game I want to try (that I don't already own). Unlike others, I am not against using another service. However, it is not a good sign when you can't even get me to sign up for the free week.

Wow, I forgot about Solitaire 3D. It has actually been around for many years, but I guess this is the first release to Steam. Also, it is solitaire with 3D graphics. It doesn't have any unique 3D gameplay (which was the impression I initially got from the news writeup). Anyway, I remember it being a decent solitaire package with over 100 variants of the card game.
