I wonder if you combined all the Ass Creed versions, if PUBG would still be #1. Probably would.

It has been said that Republicans don't actually want Roe v Wade overturned. It has been such a conservative lightening rod, that were it to go away, so would all the funding they get from social conservatives.
I'm thinking that Star Citizen is in the same boat: if they ship the game, their funding goes away...

I've read that people are getting about 80-90 hours out of D2. Is that good bang for the buck for you?
I use https://howlongtobeat.com/ for game lengths.
Just don't add "your meat" to that url

US version? Green Man Gaming $54

https://www.dealzon.com/deals/destiny

wait for a sale.

Thank you. I knew I'd forgotten a site. I think I might actually wait, if just for a little while.

Have you checked out GoG? I see Dying Light, Darkest Dungeon, and Strafe for a total of $44.

Yeah, I suppose you have to have a real people personality for a gig like that. There's just no way I could do that night after night without snapping and killing someone.

Since you work in the service industry, and are always nice to people in person, I would have thought you wouldn't have a problem with something like that.

The Scott Kelly link is really interesting, just the effects on his bones alone is scary shit. They even took a lot of precautions and he still ended up in rough shape. I wonder what other health issues we will face eventually on planets like Mars. Just the potential for pathogens that we haven't seen before freaks me out.

Glad that will be a problem for someone else.

For space stations, artificial gravity via centripetal force will go a long way to mitigate the issues of microgravity exposure. As for Mars, I suspect that by the time we get there, we'll be genetically modified to handle that gravity. And any pathogens on Mars will have come from the Earth.

More broadly, I'm not sure what could work to solve "the drug problem". Especially since it is a least partially a social problem which are extremely hard to address. I've listened to all the arguments and suggestions over the years. I suspect there is no "right" answer, we need a little from this, a little from that, and a long period of time to work on it. It will never be eliminated. The only hope is to reduce it to a "manageable" level where at least ten of thousands aren't dying from it each year.
I agree that it's probably an impossible problem to solve. That being said, our current approach has been so damaging and expensive, that a radical departure a la Portugal should be tried and compared. They've had good success with their change, reducing both cost and usage.

A grand jury has approved the first set of charges in Mueller's Russia probe.

Charges remain sealed for the moment, so we may not know for a few days who is being charged and with what. Smart money is on Manafort or Flynn, but it could be just about anyone in Trump's orbit. We could see arrests as soon as Monday.

Don't worry though, Trumptards, I'm sure there will be a huge plot twist and it's actually Hillary Clinton who is getting arrested for running a pedophile conspiracy out of a pizza parlor!

I'd put my money on Manafort, sounds like he has been up to shady shit all over the world for a very long time. On the other hand Trump has surrounded himself with a throng of unscrupulous cohorts, so there's a big pool of potential criminals to pick from.
Odds are Manafort for sure, but it sure would be funny if it was Kushner. He's been caught in several disclosure omissions, and is definitely involved in some skeezy shit.

The "War on Drugs" has been an abject failure, costing billions and billions and resulting in so much collateral damage: innocent deaths from no-knock raids, illegal civil forfeiture, hundreds of thousands of non-violent offenders sent to prison, so much extra crime committed in order to make money to buy drugs, etc. all while the problem has grown worse. It's time to try something new.

1. People want drugs. We have a one trillion dollar pharmaceutical industry. Surely they could come up with something that gives people their jollies without being addictive or damaging.

2. Decriminalize all drugs, and release all non-violent offenders.

3. Make drugs available to addicts via a prescription at cost. This will eliminate the vast amounts of ancillary crime committed to pay for illegal drugs, the poverty of drug users, the gangs that sell them, and the stigma of using. The catch: drug supply is contingent on attending drug counseling and support weekly.

I'm sure there are other ways to mitigate drugs that I'm not coming up with off the top of my head.

As much as I want this to be a thing, reading those cultish, effusive comments on the RSI website sickens me.

Did I also mention that the crass commercialism also sickens me? Also?

Man I wish petitions did something.

On that note, even my conservative mother has now told me we need to "get Trump out of there." She doesn't like him treating Republicans like the opposition party apparently, and she's noticed that he never actually accomplishes anything. He makes some token effort, usually via executive order, declares it the greatest thing anyone has ever done, and then moves on.

She was never really a Trump supporter except that she thought he'd be a good puppet manipulated by the Republican mainstream. Now she's worried about the damage Trump is doing to the Republicans by not working with his own party.

We're better off with Trump than Pence.

Re: women lost at sea... wtf, they were on a sailboat. Don't sail out into the pacific if you aren't experienced with navigation and sailing, and apparently no sat-phone. They got extremely lucky to be finally rescued. Satellite phones rarely have 100% coverage, but it's better than relying on emergency radio frequencies that no longer have organized monitoring by any country or company, and have extremely limited range anyway. If you only have a radio, you're relying on random ships/planes passing by who are ALSO randomly listening to the correct frequency.
Nothing wrong with going out in a sailboat, they were prepared for most eventualities but an engine loss combined w/broken mast, yikes. At least they had a years worth of food. Should have had not just a sat phone but an emergency beacon which do almost have 100% coverage. wiki ACR GlobalFix Pro 406 2844 EPIRB Category II Rescue Beacon with Manual Release Bracket and Built-in GPS
