It would be funny if they were put in charge of an in-between Battlefield game. The "curse" continues.

The more disconcerting rumor is that there's no anti-cheat protection on the PC.

Yeah, EA can't afford it.

I guess I'm glad they did WW2. That means Battlefield won't do WW2. I'd much prefer a BF game of Vietnam or Korea than a CoD game.

I have to say the whole explosion of sexual harassment charges in the news has me wondering a bit. Is it just me?

I read this stuff and it just doesn't fit into my life experience. I have neither witnessed nor heard personal accounts of these types of actions. And I'd like to think if I did witness it, I'd step in and say something. I don't think I've ignored it -- but it sounds so damn common I wonder if I have been blissfully ignorant?

I'll relate a couple of experiences.

I was working tech support at an insurance company, first job out of college. We got a new VP. She was mid 40s woman from Texas. She took a liking to me and would call support all the time for non-issues, requesting me specifically. Called me "boy toy" whenever I went up to her office, asked me out for drinks every time. Very annoying. I never went of course, and left that job shortly after (for unrelated reasons).

I had to go to the eye doctor 10 years ago for a blocked tear duct. The doctor was obviously gay, and in addition every description of every action he did to fix my issue was a not-so-subtle double entendre for 45 minutes straight. I was glad the nurse was there, although she was dead silent the entire time. Very unprofessional.

Talk about going from being high A list to trash in the space of one tweet.

Unfortunately he's got the money to hire a rentboy daily until he passes. He'll suffer nothing. What a waste. I've always appreciated his performances.

If someone is going to post snide comments about a game I like make sure to use actual facts and not hyperbolic, truthiness stats. Your point will go much further and have weight.
I was using the numbers metaphorically. It's a rhetorical flourish. Others got it. Interesting that you're taking exception.

You've been unusually nitpicky of late. Everything okay man?

The woman, who had been drinking,

Yeah, I think it's past time that airlines cut the booze entirely. If you can't survive a few hours without having a drink you've got serious issues.

The thing is, then you'll have people sneaking booze onto planes to drink, which makes it much more difficult to control, and turns the flight attendants into law enforcement.

Maybe, but there are already restrictions on what kind and how much alcohol you can carry on a plane. Considering the amount of rummaging the TSA already does, I don't think an alcohol ban would be hard to enforce. The real problem is after security check most airports have plenty of places to get wasted prior to getting on the plane. My guess is there's too much money involved for them to make airports 'dry' areas.
That's true. If you forced all alcohol into checked luggage, then had TSA prohibit it in carry-on, that would work.

As someone pointed out though, that's a big revenue stream.

...but do you hate that 1% who throws $10k at the game? Cause those people are bankrolling development for the rest of us. Not that our $60 doesn't count, but theirs counts a lot more.

Wouldn't you agree that if it's only cosmetic or convenience, then who really cares?

You do realize you're arguing about made up stats, right?

Of course the stats are made up. The accuracy of the numbers isn't the point. It's that there's a tiny fraction of whales, then there's the rest of us.

Seemed obvious you were exaggerating for a point.

Well, regardless of what started the feud, 5 broken ribs and some bruised lungs? That's a very good tackle.

I'm picturing good jog, breaking into a spring the last few steps, then shoulder down, right into the side. Clearly he followed Paul to the ground as well. Too bad it's two 50+ year old idiots in a gated community, otherwise there would be a Youtube Worldstar video of it, I'm sure.

What blows my mind : misdemeanor

In a world where :
- Farting in the presence of a cop gets you a felony assault charge
- Attaching a "vertical grip" to the accessory rail of a legally owned pistol gets you a felony with years in fed jail and hundreds of thousands of dollars penalty
...
Breaking 5 ribs is a misdemeanor?

wtf?

-scheherazade

Do you have links to the first two stories? I've never heard of either.
