Whew, glad I saw the reviews this morning so I canceled my pre-order and moved it to Skyrim. Not that I was going to pay for these games as I got $50 free from gamestop from the Deus Ex fiasco. Oh well... perhaps if/when they fix the bugs, I'll pick it up when steam has it on sale.

Well I like the idea of taking good ol ip's and making new versions of them. Obviously the success of Deus Ex: HR probably lead to this. Now I'd like to see a System Shock 3, or a Privateer 3 please! And as always with EA: DON'T FUCK IT UP!

System Shock 3, it should be a no brainer!

Perhaps a Wind Commander game... as in Privateer 3, hint hint.

Ignore the fact that I despise EA 2nd only to Ubisoft, they did bring some good original games to the PC recently, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, BF3 looks promising, hopefully they allow Dice not to fuck it up. It would be cool to see a new Syndicate - on a side note those who have not yet played Frozen Synapse and call yourself Syndicate fans, should ASAP try Frozen Synapse!

Hmm sounds like ubisoft wants their own call of duty game.

They did have a big selling shooter game (Rainbow Six) too bad they fucked it up.

I enjoyed Invisible War for the same reason.

I too as well. If one excludes the oringal Deus Ex (greatest game of all time) there really isn't anything that surpasses Invisible War for RPG/shooters, sadly, except maybe System Shock, System Shock 2 and Knight of the Old Republic, and knights wasn't even a shooter.

Yes!!! If 50% as good as the original game, should be automatically up for game of year consideration. I agree with Creston, a possible great or even average deus ex game is better then no deus ex game. Anyways, at least it's not Ubisoft creating it, thank god!

Yea you and me Both. I spent way too much timing online with Rainbow Six 1, 2 and Raven Shield. Those were the days. Ubisoft really screwed up Rainbow Six games, what a shame. Perhaps one day we'll see a good one, I don't expect that will be anytime soon. But hey looks like we're getting a pretty good Deux Ex so anything may happen.

Err, what? Tactical shooters? Where? The last tactical shooter I recall was SWAT4. 99% of shooters since then have been linear, highly-scripted, pseudorealistic military shooters.

God how I miss Rainbow Six and Swat. WTF, where have all the good tactical shooters gone? Cod is an action 1st person shooter, just with a military theme. Totally agree Jerykk, though there may be hope... keep an eye on Ground Branch, one of the devs from the original Rainbow Six is working on it! Once these baboon corporations get their head out of their asses, because sooner or later, everyone will get sick and tired of the action shooter. Perhaps one day we'll see another elite tactical shooters. Didn't the Rainbow Six and Swat franchise make tons of $$$$???

$20 probably for the first episode, I read somewhere that the next ones would be less? So its its $20 + 10 + 10... only comes out to $100 for 9 episodes! lol Well I pre-ordered it for $18, see how it is, if I like it I'll buy more. Don't think I get more then 3 or 4, by then new games will be coming out. Unless the game is extremely excellant. Well they cant really make this game suck now can they? If it does who'll buy episode 2?

I think Milestone is the company who made the EA Superbike, Superbike 2000 games, if so this is great news! Those titles were some of the best sport bike racing titles ever made. Kinda like the GPL, ICR2 of motorcycles. The physics were awesome for the time, excellant AI too, looking forward to this. I guess EA stopped making the games cuz it didn't sell very well?... But next to the F1 games (ISI) this was the racing sim to own. A time when EA actually made good racing sims..haha

omg did I just open a can of worms (again) f it... ps I dont work for starforce btw. Personally I rather install the game and never put in the cd in the drive ever. But there are too many who pirate the games... if no one pirated games then this would not be a problem...and if no one bought the games then well there would be no games to buy/play...
...one publisher release a game without starforce, wow! good for them...did you buy there game?
DRM is gonna be/is everywhere, music, movies, HD, games... I dont like it but thats the way it is. You dont like it, fine. Stop buying all pc games. And when all pc games have copy protection will you no longer be a pc gamer? btw referring to your comment reguarding egosoft starforce cd drive issues... drive where starforce doesnt work were most likely very old cdrom drivers anyways...if someone's got a 5 years old cd drive they probably dont have a video card that can run X3 anyways lol

whatever... X3 is an excellent space shooter. If you take the time and learn how to play the game I think it is more enjoyable then Freelancer and Privateer!!! Also all the little bitches who complain about starforce...well its the time we live in. A lot of small publishers would be out of business if they didn't use some kind of copy protection. I've bought many games that use starforce, and guess what, I've never had a system problem . Hell I havent reinstalled windows xp in 1.5+ years. Device manager lists several versions of starforce in there too!!! Either you guys don't know how to setup a computer and blaim starforce or you were going to pirate the game anyway and now its more difficult. Check the egosoft forums, there are a lot of fans (150,000+) of the X3 games that dont seem to have any starforce problems. God if I see one more little fuck complaining bout starforce....

Tested on other system w/ X-fi and the game ran smooth as silk. Though the hardware is slightly faster I went back to try a few things w/ other system.

mouse lag update: after trying setting 28 it wasnt so bad, but I did notice mouse lag when set to 67. I dont care for slow moving mouse settings so I always bump up the speed. Once set back to default the mouse felt better but slow. Maybe something to look into w/ higher mouse speed settings. This is usually the first thing I do to any new game is bump up the default slow speed of the mouse.

2 crashes on DDL (Dolby Digital Live/Cmedia 8768+) system (blue screen, and then reboot, note this was the first 2 times this system has crashed EVER!), 0 crashes on X-fi system.

Still choppy w/ first system and unstable. Set video to default and helped but wasn't nearly as smooth as it should be.

comments on the mouse: it feels like there is some auto mouse smoothing goning on. When I stop moving the mouse keeps moving slightly until it stops. I use a Logitech G5 w/ latest drivers/firmware and no other game does this.

framerate: if I spin around it feels like I'm getting 60fps+ but if I move further in the level I get pausing. Though I'm using a Cmedia 8768+ DDL setup w/ latest drivers I'll try on my other systems X-Fi. Current system: 6800GT 81.98, AA off, AF off, med/high detail, F.E.A.R., BF2, etc. ran perfect @ 1024x768 vsync off. (EAX is off)

ps that fire gun is pretty cool

Usually w/ driver optimizations, you'll see quotes like 25% increase in xxx game. Yea for say one specific setting, 2xAA and 4x AF, because that was broken originally in their older driver for that one game. Don't expect huge increases, both ATI and Nvidia drivers are pretty stable and make slight changes between versions. You might be 1% in say in BF2, but unless you benchmark each driver version, you usually won't notice 1% in game. Now my 3DMark05 score does inprove about 20-50 marks w/ each new driver version
