We still talking about Doom?

The clunkyness occurs when in the larger districts. There is non in-doors. It's not too bad when reducing the resolution.. but it is still present.

As for the individual who said the loading screens should not be an issue. Well, they are. When you have to often go into buildings, different areas, districts etc the game pauses with a loading screen. It's not as if I have one every every now and then, but almost everywhere my character needs to go ends up with a whole slew of loading screens. Go into small house: load. Exit house: load. Go into alley: load. Go down stairs: load. Enter building: load. Go up the building: load. etc etc.

It's very annoying as my character is actually moving around these areas relatively fast, hence I always bump into a loading screen without much gameplay in between.

Is it a bad game? God no. It has a lot of high points and I would have to agree, hardcore RPG fans will adore this game. But the technical issues appear to dampen what could have an awesome game.

I've played it for about 3 hours. It could have been very good, but here is the problem: Loading screens. I know this may sound silly to some, but there are so many loading screens and they take quite some time to load (I'm on a high end computer, AMD 3200). So whenever you go anywhere, whether it is inside or outside a building, into a different district (each are small), you find yourself with 15-30 seconds of loading. It's constant.

The game also is kinda clunky of my computer and the graphics are okay, but nothing like HL2.

Is it a bad game? God no. It's really really deep and the voice acting is great. The story is progressing and it's quite good. The combat is decent and as said, the graphics are okay (actually quite good, but you'd expect more from a source engine based game).

If I had to compare to a game, I'd say it is similar to the original Deus Ex, but with less FPS and more RPG elements.

The doom 3 engine was good for interior environments, I think the HL2 engine will produce a wider range of titles.

I don't understand this, one the game's best features is its engine. The longer they wait, the more outdated it gets. Don't they want to make a 'splash'? Or has the ripple already been made and they are living off it?
