Love this game!

Just wish they'd release some tools so the community could make maps.

Yup, picked up the UK version from a euro download site.

It's such a shame really. The game could be really good. Commanding AI troops is horrible and why can't a mil game in 2011 have a lean function??

Bleh, went back to GRAW2 and all the COOP maps made by the community.

The service always worked well for me, I just didn't think their game selection was the best for the platform.

Granted new releases are nice but what about more sports games or racing games?

And how about vintage titles. I still play on my Gametap account because they offer the old DOS games as well as Atari and Sega games in a browser. Those are the games I want to sit around and play on my TV. Not Just Cause2.

Give me Combat.

Yes, it's really that bad. Pick up the Ghost Recon complete edition pack from Steam and get TONS more fun tactical gameplay.

Fire up GRAW2 and download any of the downloadable maps and get your coop fix with some buddies.

It's easier to command troops in the 2008 GRAW2 than it is in this game. How does a tactical game in 2011 not have LEAN ??

Yeah, is this game really that bad?

From what I can see it looks pretty good. This is coming from someone who loved the original OP:F

(PS. yes I know ARMA is the spiritual successor)

Well, I did, sadly. Like I stated, looking for some 4 player coop mission based action. Fairly positive BF3 will be mostly MP matches with some small SP component. Probably not a lot of objective based gameplay there.

Left 4 Dead has ruined me.

who in their right mind would buy this piece of shit when BF3 is on the horizon, with beautiful gfx and higher levels of destruction..

Yup, I had such high hopes for this game. After picking up the UK version (not region locked), I can now say I'd rather play BF2 and Project Reality mod over this garbage.

Pity. I was really looking forward for some mission based, 4 player coop military game.

As opposed to what... middle east war shooters, fantasy rpgs, street racing, ww2 strategy games, post apocalyptic shooters. Sci-fi shooters.

About the only thing original is Portal and even valve barfs out a sequel.

Loving it here as well. Gameplay seems faster than the previous. I don't seem to be as lumbering. Much more agile.

Swarm mode was great fun. Bots play fairly well. Loving the deployables.

After buying the UK version of OFP:Red River and absolultely hating it, this was a breath of fresh air.

They nailed the price as well.

Seems to me everyone enjoyed Arkham Asylum which ran GFWL. Does that mean that all of you are going to skip that sequel as well?

I think we all want this but outside from joining the military, I think you will be perpetually let down. You are talking about a GAME. Even the "I" in the military needs to be micromanaged.

Shataan wrote on Mar 22, 2011, 16:24:
IIt has to look right, sound right, FEEL right, MOVE right in the 1st pov, and no more micromanaging A.I. ala ARMA 2.

While I can say that I never had any issues with GFWL while playing Red Faction Guerrilla online, I would have gladly rather this been a steam title.

But we just need to hope that MS stays true to their "commitment" to pc gaming and get the net code down as well as voice chat if they expect us to play this game coop over the net.

@Littleme- you are officially an idiot...

I've been a member here since 04. That text I "wrote" was copy and pasted from a Eurogamer preview.

Keep up the good work idiot.

3. Re: Operation Flashpoint: Red River Trailer Mar 8, 2011, 17:41 maddog

Thank you Red River for not being another COD\HomeFront\MOH clone.

This is the game that Homefront should have been...

Aside from the four-player campaign, the standalone multiplayer content sticks with co-operative rather than competitive modes. There's a quartet of distinct game types which will see you surviving waves of enemies, flushing out embedded AI, escorting convoys and performing search and rescue operations.

Playing the first mode (Last Stand, a kind of Flashpoint-styled Horde attack) perched on top of a windy hill as the Chinese move in, it's a shock how well Flashpoint handles on the Xbox 360 pad. Many will still prefer mouse and keyboard controls, but with stance on the left-stick and the new radial menu working well, it's far easier than expected to get into the move-and-shoot rhythm of the game.

Wouldn't be surprised if they backtrack on this...

"dedicated server browser executable, LAN support,"

Seems to me, I remember InfinityWard stating they would support mods and map making. Have yet to see either of those.

Can't believe Kaos will be gracious enough to give the few things PC gamers really love.

Agreed. I hate playing online with all the kids and cheaters. Give me bots and the ability to run my own LAN games at home with some buddies.

I still enjoy COD4 with the PezBot mod to allow for some LAN games with buds and bots.

Top down view appears to be the new mode de jure. Love the concept of this game but would have loved it better if it was third person over the shoulder or first person.

I'd love a Left4Dead MMO. Build fortresses, find food, fight zombies, find supplies, fight zombies, rinse repeat.

I really would love to be able to have a sit down with the EA exec who green-lighted this project. With the success of the COD series, wouldn't you do your best to give players everything that COD is not?
*Local dedicated servers
*Full game COOP
*Full editor
*Offline bots for those that like human vs bot modes to practice

This seems like they are not even on even footing with COD, and look to be certainly blow out of the water by Black Ops.

You'll never find "tier 1" operators wearing baseball caps on missions. Maybe around a FOB, but never on an active mission.

BRAVO!! I now have a reason to fire up my Onlive account to see if there is anything good added lately. Not sure why they don't buy Gametap and add their collection to the service. The wide variety of PC classics and arcade games would be great to play in front of a TV.
