News Comments > PayDay 2 Beta Access with Preorders
1. Re: PayDay 2 Beta Access with Preorders Jul 24, 2013, 12:37 maddog

I enjoyed the first Payday as it had AI bots for playing teammates in the levels.

I have not read if this version has ai for your teammates. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Does this mean that they removed training mode in which I could play against bots with my buddies?

What ever happened to Justin Chin?? I remember reading his interviews in the old computer mags from years ago. He was a great designer who always made me excited for the Jedi games

I don't mind a sequel as long as they are sure to include training mode again.

Being a working professional with a family, I really don't have the time I did in my 20's to devote to online play. I greatly welcomed the training mode in BLOPs in that it allowed me to just quickly play a couple maps and matches and be done with it.

And if they do include training mode, I hope it's for all modes as well.

YES, training mode was a great addition. Hope they do it again in BLOPS2

I admit I dislike CoD (though I occasionally play it) and what it's done to the average gamer, but Black Ops was at least pretty cool. Especially the bots. Bots are far too rare nowadays. I hope Blops 2 brings them back. Not that I would pay full price for it, but it was so wonderful being able to play against something other than raging 10-year-olds with mics.

I'm excited for this. Didn't play the first.

Could we have a new genre here?

Hope that the cryengine sniper game coming out is good to go as well. Wish that one had coop though.

I for one am really excited for this release. While I love the user generated content for GRAW and GRAW2, this seems to offer everything I am looking for in a 3rd person shooter. Played the heck out of R6 Vegas 1 and 2 so hope this carries on the tradition. (Wish there was a new terrorist takedown mode though)

4 player coop campaign and the guerrilla mode have me excited!

Haven't been this excited about a coop game since L4D.

The free to play games are frustrating. I'd gladly pay you $20,30,40 or even $50 for the ability of me to run my own server of your F2P game.

I want to host my own server, my rules, that me and some buddies can play and perhaps have some ai bots fill in the player spaces.

If I enjoy the game, I'd be happy to pay for additional levels and game modes, even guns etc.

Just give me the power to run my own server. Seems like the UT, CounterStrike, Quake games were the last to do this. (Yes, there are new ones as well that allow me to host my own servers)

Oh well.

I chuckle at everyone scoffing at another WW2 shooter. What would be more desirable...another modern war\asskrackistan\Iraq shooter. Yeah, that's original.

I find the potential of the engine to be the exciting part. I am running Crysis 2 with the hi res textures and with DX11 and it looks fricking amazing. Love the pseudo open world style of gameplay.

If they can do that with this new franchise, I'm in. Actually, I'd rather see a true Brother in Arms sequel with this engine.

Also agree. Really can't figure out why, or even how the cars work into it. Now if it was open world ala Red Faction:Guerilla, that would be cool and I could see the benefit of tricked out war machines.

I don't know why, but from what I've seen so far, nothing about this game entices me at all. It looks *very* vanilla.

Agreed. I don't even know if I'll grab it when it finally hits the bargain bin.

14. Re: Dead Island DLC Waits for Patches Sep 16, 2011, 00:54 maddog

I'm having a good time with it. People were complaining it's nothing but loot quests but I am enjoying the exploring and trying to find new weapons. I did change the FOV and modified the same file to improve sidestepping\lateral speed.

Just finished some "mission" where I had to turn off some electricity to get in a garage. Was not the simple throw lever but had to look around and see what was needed to get the job done.

The game freaks me out. Always finding myself looking behind me for a zombie.

Yup, picked up the UK version from a euro download site.

It's such a shame really. The game could be really good. Commanding AI troops is horrible and why can't a mil game in 2011 have a lean function??

Bleh, went back to GRAW2 and all the COOP maps made by the community.

The service always worked well for me, I just didn't think their game selection was the best for the platform.

Granted new releases are nice but what about more sports games or racing games?

And how about vintage titles. I still play on my Gametap account because they offer the old DOS games as well as Atari and Sega games in a browser. Those are the games I want to sit around and play on my TV. Not Just Cause2.

Give me Combat.

Yes, it's really that bad. Pick up the Ghost Recon complete edition pack from Steam and get TONS more fun tactical gameplay.

Fire up GRAW2 and download any of the downloadable maps and get your coop fix with some buddies.

It's easier to command troops in the 2008 GRAW2 than it is in this game. How does a tactical game in 2011 not have LEAN ??

MD

Yeah, is this game really that bad?

From what I can see it looks pretty good. This is coming from someone who loved the original OP:F

(PS. yes I know ARMA is the spiritual successor)
