I would have been happier if they just reskinned Ghost Recon Wildlands and put in the four Republic Commando guys.

I remember the good old days of GameTap. They had all the old console games available for online gaming. Some could be downloaded as well.

Loved that service. Was sad to see it go.

Wish someone could give me retro streaming games for something like $2.99 a month. I'd happily pay that for a big selection and nice interface.

lol, I had a 7800. All the kids in the neighborhood were getting NESs and my mom got me a 7800. Wasn't mad. Some of the games were okay. Really liked Ballblazer. But largely went unplayed.

Really miss the BF2 days. Worked on a mod team and it was some of the best, most challenging fun I've had with my PC.

Guys making amazing maps, amazing vehicles. I'm happy the mod scene is still alive but those days it was something else.

Good on the Dell employees. Corps need to learn to adapt or die. This isn't the 1950s where the factory floor model of management works any further.

Agreed.

I only returned to the office because me and the dogs were getting fat with all the snacking I was doing. I don't mind going in but that may change if gas prices rise and they are set to do in CA.

You liberals that think the gun manufacturers are to blame are fucking hilarious.

You'll find any reason to blame anyone but yourselves, your fucked up families, your schools, your faults in fucking up todays youth.

Guns have been around for decades in video game. Playing Doom did not make me want to go blast up a school. You people are a joke and need to take a hard look at the society you've created and say hey...maybe we fucked up our kids.

Plenty of gang bangers shooting up neighborhoods and no one ever says...hey, maybe Call of Duty that had an AR-15 made them do it.

I've been an AR shooter for more than a decade and I've never seen a single ad geared towards kids.

Great actor, and further reminder not to ever hike alone.
He looked familiar to me in his photo, but looking over his IMDB page I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is I am remembering him from...

I know him from Oceans Thirteen where he played the tech genius that Pacino's character brought in to do the AI computer stuff.

i'm getting a baaad feeling about this. ubisoft open world kinda hints it'll be assassins creed: star wars.

idk, GR: Wildlands was excellent. Breakpoint, not that much but to their credit, they listened to fan feedback and fixed a number of problems.

I just want a survey flight sim that has a quick mission generator and configurable flight models. lol, I basically want Janes Fighters Anthology with a fresh coat of paint.

In that case, you might want to look into DCS World's Flaming Cliffs 3 module. This is very old school at its core and also "sim light" like Jane's.
Flaming Cliffs 3 is pretty much a sequel of LOMAC. It has slightly dated graphics but it should be perfectly OK for most of us old geezers who grew up bombing square or triangular pixels in ye olde sims of yore.

Thanks! Will take a looksy.

I remember going to the local monthly computer show here in San Diego and seeing the San Diego Flight Sim group all LAN'd together playing Falcon. I was super impressed as I had only really played the Janes and F-19\117 up to that point. After seeing the manual and needing one of the CH flight sticks, I passed.

Jokes on me I guess. I thought this game was already out judging by some details I've read online.

I thought it was open world but from what I understand, that is not the case and it's entirely linear.

Oh well, back to play State of Decay again.

if you like Tom Clancy kind of stuff, I highly recommend you read Flight of the Old Dog. Takes place in the height of the cold war and sets up a whole world of about 15 books. It was a series way ahead of it's time and talks about things like stealth bombers about a decade before the B2 and F117. B.U.F.F.s forever.

Yup, really enjoyed the Flight of the Old Dog books when I was growing up. Read them as a teen. I think the last I read was Tin Man.

May need to go back and check them out again. Everything out now is Navy SEAL this or Navy SEAL that.

Can someone in the know - but able to overlook the 'this isn't what a Battlefield should be' pre-bias - let me know how the solo/co-op experience in Portal is, now. I'm aware you can't level past a certain point. I'm aware the game went out in a total state, initially, and still has some lingering bugs and performance issues.

But as someone who primarily plays Quake 3/Black Ops CoD/GR: Wildlands, I'm wondering if I can scrap a few dozens out of this with friends/alone, while enjoying the open maps and the scenery destruction - any informed insight would be appreciated.

I enjoy playing it solo against bots. I really like the Portal feature to setup and create my own game setups.

At 48, this was a classic from my early PC gaming days. Think it came free with a video card or something. Kinda wish they'd have given it a graphics overhaul though.
