1. You say they don’t pay taxes due to Trump. I didn’t know he’s been in office for decades! Amazon is just like ANY other business, taking advantage of tax benefits (write offs such as depreciations that each of us have access to if running a business) and loop holes put in place by BOTH parties.

2. They DO pay taxes, both income and B&O taxes at state and federal levels. Why don’t you do some damn research instead of drinking the kewl-aid!

3. USPS authorities said they ACTUALLY DO make money off Amazon, unlike other companies they deliver for (junk mail senders for example). So to raise money on a company they make money from already when there are others they don’t, makes you sound like you live in Seattle and are one of the Socialist Sawant followers.

These parents are idiots. Reading through everything since it first came out, it's quite clear they felt that the motion sensor should of triggered. I know all the alarm systems I've had, the motion sensors are NEVER active when I'm home in stay or instant mode. Only the window an door contacts.

Otherwise, the motion sensor would trigger the alarm everytime you moved.

When I had my alarm system from Comcast installed, they took over the ADT sensors and ASKED me if I wanted sensors installed elsewhere as well. ADT would not do my garage (detached),which had been broken into twice. Comcast put a door sensor out there, as well as glass breakage for the basement and two window sensors.

It's not the installers responsibility to make sure your home is secure, it's the homeowners. And this is one the of the biggest things that pisses me off about society today, no one wants to take responsibility for their own selves. IT's everyone elses job.

Not entirely true. I skip through ads on the onDemand all the time. Just have to have your remote programmed for 30 second skip. While the fast forward will not work, the skip has never failed me.

I almost didn't respond because that was pretty idiotic. That was nto what the article was saying. As someone that lives in Seattle and has seen what is going on, what you say is far from the truth. If anything, Amazon is actually bringing people in from other countries on work visa's. But with the explosive growth they've brought to the downtown area, rents and housing are fast becoming unaffordable. The work environment is very caustic from reports of friends.

The people having to pay the price for this are those of lower incomes. There have been multiple instances of fixed income apartment buildings being sold and remodeled. This forces ALL the tenants out and of course are told they can have their apt back, for three times the rent they were paying.

When it says free install, the installation of the equipment and that first outlet is usually covered by that. But when it comes to additional outlets or wanting work done a certain way, such as fishing the line through a wall, there are charges that come into play there.

Installing a modem and setting up the first PC is usually covered in the install if its free, want additional computers/laptops/tablets added, that's going to be extra if you want the technician to do it.

I work as a technician, there are many times I go out and the customer should have the initial part free and if it is not, I can get that fixed by calling dispatch. Any additional work though that is NOT on the order, or is, costs. We are given units per job. Adding more units is only done by adding other services to be installed. And that is the case most times. They don't tell the CSR they have 3 TV's, the expect those two to be free as well. And I hear it quite often when I explain the charges that they think the additional boxes are supposed to be free "that's what they told me on the phone." Never never never. There is always going to be fees, and all calls are recorded so they can go and review that conversation.

But I can tell you this, she has earned herself a do not service mark. While cable companies must provide service to people within the footprint, if something like this happens, they get blackballed.

It is true it does NOT eat into your bandwidth. The bandwidth has been increased quite a bit in cities over the last few years, for example, in the city I live in, we now have 16 channels for broadband. As for the hacking into your home-network, I love how the media has misconstrued this. It is a second, entirely different provisioned network. It is segmented and there for not seen by the other network. It's just like the routers you can install that have a guest network. If you're connected to it, you cannot see the private comps on the other network.

How many of the polled were actually not customers of either? How many of them were dish or directv customers in the footprint of Comcast or TW?

Also, I personally think it may be a good thing. People scream about how it will drive prices up, I think the opposite might actually happen. Or maybe a status quo. Reason I say this is with that much of a bargaining power, they could get the media content providers to reel in THEIR price gouging when it came time for carrier fee negotiations. AMC for example has been seeking double digit increases every time they renegotiate a contract with a cable/sat company.

If Comcast were to pull AMC off the network due to negotiation break down, and was merged with TWC, yeah.... AMC would see a HUGE hit in revenue from it. Far more than what happens now.

The way it works is the routers themselves (dorys) will have two provisioned states. One is your private network and the other is the public wifi. Each is segmented from each other, will not see each other, and provide different IPs.

Each provisioned state has it's own bandwidth. It will NOT impact the subscribers data usage, bandwidth, etc.

To use teh public wifi, you must login with your comcast.net email address. If you have a valid account, it's free. if you do not have an active internet account, you can pay by the hour.

Oh, and the reason sandbox games cost so much money is because they are HUGE companies.

• They have a lot of waste.
• Those 100's of millions include the salaries for everyone, from the bottom, to the top that is involved.
• HUGE Marketing campaigns
• They're developing for PC, PS3, PS4, 360, XBone, Wii

Now you look at Cloud Imperium, it's an independent studio, so ar the one's they're working with. He has ABSOLUTE creative control over the game, he does not have to answer to the bean counters or suits that have no idea but think it would be cool to do *insert here*. This allows him to do a lot with a lot less.

He did not even start the programming of the game, hiring people, etc until he had the funding. He would of had a lot of unhappy people if he had hired people, started programming, and then had to shut down if the funding failed.

Just on kickstarter alone they had 34,300 donations. At the same time, they had their RSI crowdsourcing event going on their website. No idea how many, they don't have to be transparent about it.

But lets take EVE Online. Over 500k subscribers. So lets just say only 250k have donated to RSI, and we'll use the average of $62 (avg of kickstarter), that comes out to $15.5million.

So it is very possible on what they're getting JUST from normal gamers like ourselves. I used the average, but there are upgrades many people (including myself) have bought.

Now this has just been a year. They have put out a lot of screen grabs, videos, and the interactive ship bay. I don't know of a game developer that puts out everything they're doing as they do it.

I don't know of a game company that says 'We are getting all this money from here and here and here' unless they're a publicly traded company, because that is required by law. But they are not required, nor should they, spill all the beans on the game.

I also don't know of a game company that gives the very in depth bullet point of what is what and how they're doing it. They give out more details as they get closer to the launch, but they DO have to protect their IP as well. Why would you spell out everything you're doing? That would only give others the opportunity to get a game like it as well.

We know Bungie is doing Destiny, but we have only seen a few video's and screenshots. So what's to say that isn't a scam that they're running on their stock holders and investors?

A few other things you may not know about that though is that Cloud Imperium Games does have stock holders. While it may not be a publicly traded company (could be wrong, but don't think so), they are getting investments from that end as well, which I don't know goes against the "We won't take outside investment or developer funding if we pass $23mil".

He was quoted this past week saying

"We don’t care about making profits for public shareholders. We just care about making the Best Damn Space Sim Ever and you generous support has already allowed us to go way beyond what we thought would be possible upon initial release!"

So without those constraints of actual investors and public shareholders and having to worry about making them money on their investments, they are able to do more with less money. They don't have corporate bigwigs making millions of dollars with multimillion dollar bonuses and such to worry about.

They are also partnered with Origin, the original company he made Wing Commander for.

Also, people for some reason seem to mistake crowdsourcing (which is a donation of sorts) to investing, as if they've bought into the company and expect to make a return on their investment. It never has, nor will it be like that. The only return we expect to get is a game, and hopefully a good one at that!
