if there is one game they should remake that should play just like original it should either be Colonization or MAster of magic

asdfasdf do you people know what *note: im not defending blizzard* means?

:-P

Ray: yeah I know, im playing a warrior. The only usefull warrior is an arms/furry warrior that swiches from dual wield (for rage generation) to 2h execute/ms/whatever in my experience. The protection specced warrior is a joke when comparing it to a pally (pve it's decent in instances as main tank but pvp worthless, and even there some people would rather take a pally).

I've lost count on the number of broken talents the warrior has.

shamans are fine the way they are at lvl 60
However there is no match to a shaman 1v1 at lower levels. Couple that with ghost wolf and frost shock ====> best ganker/griefer class in wow.

Paladins are overpowered in pve and in duels but i don't think they are something special in group pvp. I mean hell ill a gimped warrior(not prot specced) any day on my side rather than a useless hard to kill paladin.

Ya and warrior talents are broken. 8(

oh ya and i forgot to add that releasing new gameplay patches would be a mistake untill they can at least control the current build of the game properly

Meaning that they patch the server software for the bugs like boat and quests and crap.

And yeah i know there are glaring issues so don't flame me.

I don't know if you would want it that automated Ray, just place the maximum if the item is that important to you (you need something to keep you busy you are allready almost 60 heh)

I have yet to see a huge battle that didn't crash the server I am at this point unsure if the server/netcode can support them. 100+ people in battle + some spawning guards = rip server.

Another issue would be battlegrounds. From what I am reading it does not sound so appealing. Fighting npc's is kinda suck. They should implement something along the lines of L2. Castles that guilds can capture, that have a persisstant place (not an instance) and a goal (0.1% off the trades done in that region). Something along the lines of every zone having a keep/castle that at first has uber npc's (meaning you have to have a guild with alot of lvl 55's to capture it) It would be preety cool to raid southshore and capture the keep instead of ganking helpless newbs :P. Also scrolls of teleport to keep should be implementet that take you to your keep.
Instanced battlegrounds are more along the lines of guild wars, and pvp loses focus in the actual world.

Pvp rewards like people randomly dropping stuff and or losing exp points when they die would be nice.

Guess we will wait and see what happens.
Wow's economy is almost nonexistant, in 6 month 100 gold will mean nothing but ill take that over adena farmers and people who buy gold/items on ebay any day.

I really hope Wow's pvp will be able to stand its own vs Daoc and lineage2.

And oh when I started playing wow 6 month ago the world seemed to huge. Now I really think its small 8(

Random thoughts~

*note*: not defending blizzard, I think they are doing a crappy job especially after all these problems were so obvious towards the end of beta

What boggles my mind is the amount of servers they have. 80 god damn servers. Imagine taking care of 80 servers.
Umm yeah we have this bug we need to investigate on server 65. Oh wait look the boat on server 30 is droppong players into the ocean. Hmmmm we took server 26 out of maintenence and now server 27 is overcrowding.

Must be heaven for the support team.

i really had a bad time playing it during the world preview

i would rather go play diablo 2 (at least in diablo2 you have 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999 items to combine with your stats points/skill tree etc )

the world preview was just boring

meh 8(

They should compete in the CBL (Cyberathlete blowjob league)

But seriousely what's this bullshit about girl only leagues/clans and such? Waste of prizemoney if you ask me. I doubt NiP would hesitate on taking a girl cs players if she was the best in the world. So far girls in clans or clans of girls are pure marketing. What this bs?
Girl gaming leagues = special olympics?

battle.net was praised from the cummunity, user interface, chat, random matchmaking service. etc.

in regards to cheaters I don't play diablo2 , however I do play war3 and starcraft. No complaints from me. For stacraft for instance if you want to play on a ladder (www.wgtour.com) you have to launch bwscanner (www.bwscanner.com). It's pretty good in filtering the trash. Also there is a huge difference between someone killing a whole team with a knife and someone maphacking.

However I think your mind is set so i'll go back to playing Diablo 2.

I was not aware of that. I know cs is popular and thats the primary reasons there are so many cheaters. However it seems like there is no end to them (and no im not saying that because im paranoid im saying that in regards to blatant hacks like one guy with a knife+speekhack killing an entire team). Something is wrong with the system because if they would ban 10 000 cheaters every week people would be very reluctant to try cheats. The typical mentality is do it if you can get away with it crap.

Anyhow also in regards to steam they should fix the friends list once and for all. connecting to a diffrent friends list server if you are inside the game, or outside the game is plain dumb. Also they should add channels and such in a battle.net style. It brings the community together. Sure you might say that's what irc is for but I beg to differ.

Look at battle.net. It's pure art.

hl2 thru steam crap etc was a total failure imho
like wow gj on banning 30k accounts unless the person was dumb enough to use his exsiting steam acocunt it dosen't really matter does it? There are allready cracks that don't require an internet connection whatsoever.

They should spend time improving the anticheating crap and banning more hackers. For instance they should not instantly ban hacks, let people think its safe and ban batches of people every week or so after the hacks spread and people think they are safe to use.

Other than that editing hl2 requires steam as well another big complaint.

Steam rocks overall tho. Just some poor decisions on valve's part imho.

P.S. And yes I have seen computers that get 100fps in 1.5cs and 40fps after steam. Drivers/tweaks etc nothing works. Valve should look into that as well. 8(

nin so you agree with:
"I've gone on record to say that I'm proud of the PC version of Daikatana and I stand behind that. It was not meant to be a beginner's FPS but rather an expert FPS that required more than just the player hopping around and thinking only of themselves like most other FPS's - Daikatana required you to also help your sidekicks survive the ordeal alongside you. This new play mechanic threw many people off the game because it was too difficult."

I find the above quote a bit weird?

http://www.gamespot.com/features/btg-daikatana/
gamespots's history of daikatana's development

draw your own conclusions.

Alltho I agree with what you say NIN there are "fuck ups" and "fuck ups". This guy worked at iD on two games, and with the core iD at softdisk. He's not just a level designer who won the 30 million dollar lottery and was stumbling in the dark. Read the gamespot article its like drama after drama after drama.

It's like Final Destination: Freak accidents with john romero, from 99 people quitting to beeing too hot in the penthouse because they bought a floor on the last level and people forced to work with black sheets above their cubicles . Also starring a guy who told romero that all the team would quit if he keeps dating killcreak lol. Oh yeah let's not forget mike wilson who formed god after leaving ion storm and stole his core daikatana team to make KISS :CIRCUS whatever game.

I mean whoa

Anyway props to him for taking the bulls by the horns and following his dream like I said in my last post. But please mr Romero dont tell me Daikatana was great but misunderstood and that you are a good game designer ( I only require proof).

Also props for making Anachronx and Deus Ex happen.

Blah
All I can say is that instead of sucking it up like a man he is still trying to sound like the game was a masterpiece, and the press, some members of his team and Jesus was against him.

some quotes:
"politics and poison are everywhere. Dominion is released in June and is quickly killed in the press and market."

excuse me sir Domnion sucked balls

"extreme politics concludes with O'Flaherty and Porter leaving Ion Storm; a dark cloud is lifted"

lol?
-lots more but I cant copy paste
Instead of assuming responsability for his actions he just throws the blame around. Ok let's assume this guy is a bad leader and a great designer. Oh wait, I only see Daikatana sucking instead of Deus EX and Anachronox. *cough*

Really dude you cannot dodge the shit. You hired those evil people who worked on your game and played around with 30 million dollars.

Im sure John's a great guy and he loves games. However his special place in the industry as a bad example is well deserved. He still gets props tho for taking the bull by the horns and playing with the big boys.

Welcome to rl.

P.S. Will we see a 3d realms story soon? heh i hope so but broussard and 3drealms get a cookie because they made DN3D.
