Dude, their new CP scheme is kick ass. Lets see...you can login online (like every MMO or multiplayer shooter out there), OR you can keep the DVD in the drive. Your choice. How is that bad?!?

Because it's expensive to run a beta and Fileplanet runs it for free and markets it for free for an exclusivity period. Pull up you diapers.

Looks like an expansion pack for Starcraft. Completely underwhelmed. Now I have to set my hopes on DoW 2.

From reading the god awful blog, it doesn't say anything about it being a sequel. I'm guessing expansion pack. What I really want to see is Relic do a modern warfare RTS, much like what they are doing with Call of Duty 4 (FPS).

How much money do you donate as a percentage of your income? Carmack has been known to donate upwards of 50% of his income to various charities, police organizations, and other causes. Have you even given a dollar? When you go to McDonalds for dinner and spend $5, how insane is that compared to the $.12 of rice that someone who is starving needs? It's all relative.

Wasn't thrilled at the start of beta, but they really polished this up since then. Pre-ordered on Sunday as well.

Just tried to figure it out for the last 30 minutes...still have no idea what the hell I am doing. Graphics are mediocre at best.

[I am a WoW fan...just wanted to preface with that] I got the beta, installed, launched, created one character, entered the world, threw up in my mouth a little bit and then uninstalled. This game is a big steamer...

I've seen the tank thing before, but I've learned to manage the location of the tank first, then the target. As for MG squads and mortars, I have never seen what you are describing. I would suggest though that with an MG squad, building are the best spots for them, otherwise instead of right clicking on an enemy, just set up the mg squad and they will take care of the rest. If you right click, then they will try and follow a retreating enemy. I think it's less the AI, and more the PI.

The best single player campaign in an RTS since Starcraft. In fact, it may even beat it! The game is absolutely incredible. The SP game actually made me feel for my soldiers...I'm not shitting you. It sounds corny, but I was pissed whenever any of them died. The soundscape is amazing, the chatter is dead on, and actually means something. There were a couple places in SP where I got big time chills. One of the maps wasn't great, but the rest rocked big time. The in game cut scenes are movie like in cinematograpy and direction.

This is a definite buy.

Apparently this demo is optimized where the pcgamer one was not. Also read this one has skirmish mode where the other did not.

Wrong game...you're thinking of Warhammer, not Warhammer 40K. Confusing I know, but just look at it this way. 40K game rocks, non-40K game (mark of chaos) stinks big time.

Not a big hero fan here at all. It's what killed WC3 for me. As for this game, I am still blown away by it constantly. Was pissed at the high specs of the demo until I actually read a forum post from Relic saying they are release a fully optimized version the first week of september. The beach mission was cool and all, but the defend carentan one rocked. I've played it about 12 times now and finally kept the krauts from crossing any of the three bridges. it was pretty awesome setting up the killzone traps.

On the MP side, the game is incredible. Hopefully they fix their online server issues by the time the game is out. It's been getting better, but still not quite their.
