Why do you guys keep buying these games when it's the exact same game all the time with different window dressing. All you do is make Kodick laugh all the way to the bank. It's why most of you would never make it in the air force, because you need to aim higher! And nothing can stop the US Airforce, not even Kodick!

At least warez it or rent it instead, don't support the dark side of the force here.

Kotick is a dick yes, but warezing the game won't hurt him one bit. It will hurt the QA folk who are the first to get let go when the game doesn't reach sales expectations. It's the junior people on the team that get hurt by this, not the exec. Don't be a Kodick.

PLausible...in video games? Do you realize how silly that sounds? With aliens landing, and super jumping plumbers, invading Russians, police that forget about when they lose line of sight, etc., etc., you pick this to be implausible.

The idea that exclusivity online loses any sales is absolutely absurd. If it's in the brick and mortar retail world it makes sense, but does someones hand get too tired to type in a different URL? The idea that Direct2Drive has loyal customers is a joke.

Every PC game gets cracked. Every single one. There are only a couple ways around this...don't make PC games, or make it freaking annoying to crack over and over again (TF2).

You really think dedicated servers has anything to do with this? The PC version of the game accounted for less than 10% of the games sales, it's pretty much irrelevant.

Amen, Brad, now make it work reliably.

Small game developers really need a free, open multiplayer infrastructure like this. Rolling their own solution is too complicated and unreliable, Gamespy is too expensive, and Steam is too restrictive, selective, and excluding. If Stardock can pull this off without dropping the ball or restricting developers who use it, more power to it.
How is Steam restrictive at all? Also, what is Brad talking about exclusive? I just bought the new Dawn of War exp pack at Target, and it uses steamworks. The first one was for sale on Direct2drive as well.

After looking into this more, Steam has zero install limitations at all. GFWL has a 15 install "limit", but it just requires a single call to support to get it completely reset.

Piracy sucks. It's stealing, plain and simple. The excuses people use "I don't like their DRM!" are completely inane. First they wouldn't have DRM without piracy, and second, if you don't like something about the game, don't buy it and don't play it. Pirates, stop screwing PC gaming please.

BTW, I don't mind allowing discussions of piracy, as the pirates just make themselves look like idiots when they try and justify their theft.

What is truly idiotic is that these things should have been defaults already. We should be way beyond archaic server browsing at this point, and quick match not taking ping into account is simply foolish.

I thought DoW2 was awesome. It could have had less repititon in the SP game than it did, but loved it through and through. The fact that they then dropped last stand mode out for free just sealed the deal for me. After playing with the SC2 beta this weekend, it just fell flat for me. I've played this game for the last 12 years. I expect something a bit more dynamic and new from a game that took that long to make. Yes, of course I'll still buy it, but damnit I won't enjoy it!

For the guy that says Relics recent RTS's belong in a pale *sic*, I say you are high. Both CoH and DoW2 are by far my favorite RTS games of all time. CoH was recognized widely as such.

My problem with Supcom was that is devolved to pushing dots all the time. It was generally well executed, but dots, dots, and more dots.

100% Disagree. It's an expansion. We know what the graphics look like, I want to know what they are going after as far as the mood. BTW, these all look like in game, nothing pre-rendered.
