Did you like it? I keep seeing it on the shelf and have nearly bought it a few times now...

I really enjoyed Psychonauts. Funny like I would expect from Tim Schafer. Found it kinda easy though, feels like its aimed at a younger audience. All the same I found myself digging through the whole game trying to find all of the out of the way little jokes.

I recommend it. It's an excellent change of pace game that will keep you laughing.

Ok, here's an easy one... which banned Blues News troll would have the following cartoon up on his website along with a 10,000 word essay on how it was not really a cartoon but a diagram from an enlightened medical journal?

Happeh aka Joe Blow.. he went by a few other tags too. He also had the forum with only one member - him. Disturbing, but funny.

edit: I went and found the forum again just because: 1 member, 1153 posts.

I'll be honest and say I picked up Diablo and started playing it again. It really just is plain and simple fun.

Really really want Diablo III now though.

Getting back to the model discussion...

I dont think that every model should be identical, but it is definately cool if you can choose between a variety of similar models. Think of a bunch of Ts where one has a beret, another a cigarette, something like that. Who gets what skin can be determined randomly, but I just think it looks better if not everyone is a clone.

"If George Lucas isn't the King of Hype by now I don't know WHO is."

Derek Smart

Also, I'm tired of so called Star Wars fans bashing the last two movies. Do you like star wars? do you like the universe? do you like the story? Do you like Sci Fi?

Then how the hell could you not like ANY of these movies? Im sick of these old ass curmudgeons who come in from their EWOK hayday and piss and moan about Attack of the Clones and Phantom Menace, and Blue doesnt help much by putting things like "alot of people were down on the first two" in his tag line.

Speaking of Derek Smart, you sounded quite a bit like him right there...

Just a thought.

I'm really tempted to get it. From all of the reviews and posts I've been reading I'm very tempted. But There's one thing standing in my way: MMORPG's turn into a real time sink for me

Ditto. I just recently kicked the WoW habit (amazing but true) and I dont want a repeat of that incident. Suffice it to say I got a 60 Mage in 2 1/2 months. Really really like the look of GW. If only I could get some self control..

I'm *this* close to going and buying Guild Wars. I'm very much a solo type player though, and one thing I've never had answered well is how much you can do solo. What has been your experience so far, and how far (what level) have you gotten?

I was a bit disappointed with the HGTTG movie too, but I have to say that casting was the major flaw. Some of the lines were just terrible. Zooey Deschanel as Trillian was the most glaring, and who thought that Mos Def as Ford Prefect would work?

Alot of the HGTTG jokes needed to be delivered perfectly and they were simply lost in the poor delivery.

The parts where the narrator quotes the guide directly and the animation adds flourish were well done though, I laughed pretty hard at quite a few.

I'm hoping that the Canadian politicians will demonstrate some independence and intelligence on this issue.

They won’t.

American money from the RIAA will exchange nicely into Canadian money.

Canada actually has stricter controls on the bribing donations for MPs. Donations can only be given during an election and the maximum amount anyone can give is relatively small. As well, the Commission of Ethics has power to monitor MPs, up to checking on their bank accounts. This doesnt stop the RIAA from paying persuasive lobbyists but it does limit the ways in which they can use their money make legislation. I think the sponsorship scandal is enough to remind any Canadian that our politicians are as capable of being corrupt as any.

That said, a lot of Canadians are still unhappy with the US and any wiff that our laws are being dictated to us from the south will not go over well. Canadian Prime Ministers have had an independent streak as of late, hope it continues.

U.S. Rejects Canadian Rejection of DMCA

It will be interesting to see how this one pans out. This is basically a case of those interested in IP (intellectual property) protection in the US trying to push Canada to pass laws similar to the US for the protection of copyright.

The Canadian legislation (as proposed, dont count on it getting passed soon) takes a much more moderate view on copyright protection, and according to the U.S. gov't fails to comply with international IP treaties (which is b.s., if I do say so myself).

The question is, will the Canadian politicians resist both pressure from the U.S. gov't and U.S. funded lobbyists and pass the law as it stands. The fact that Canada-U.S. relations have been a little strained as of late gives me hope that they might just go forward with it as it is...

I really wanted to know what that said on the Tuds page, ended up typing it all into Babelfish. (It's Portugese, btw)

Here is the (very rough) translation I got:
Aniversario of 15 years of the Paula

Tuds was to confer of close the wonderful party that the parents of Paula Oliveira perparam with much affection in the Marcio's Buffet

The "ballad", or better the "party-ballad" well was agitated to the sound of the resident Dj in the night!

The party was marked with much joy and much diversao. It notices 10 for buffet that it caprichou in the food and the drink that nao stopped one minute. It was well strong well legal.

The Tuds marked presenca and caprichou in plus this super aniversario. It confers galerinha that it passed for la.

Team TUDS desires tuds of good for voce Paula, is with God, much affection and much peace for voce and its family!

Doesnt answer the question of what that girl is on, but the comment about: "the drink that nao stopped one minute. It was well strong well legal" makes me wonder.

I've been half in the market for an mp3 player for a while now.

What I really want it is a small little player that I can simply put an mp3 on and it will play it - no extra software, nothing to complicate things. Thing is, all of the players I've seen come with proprietary software for doing something that should really just be a matter of dragging and dropping a file onto the player.

Anyone able to recommend a player for me? Something cheap enough that I'm not too worried about taking it running.

Call of Duty was an excellent game, one of the few that were able to give that "you are doing something epic" feeling. That said, I'd like to seem them innovate and get away from their MOHAA (everything is scripted) roots. What I read in the PC Gamer article was promising, as they were implying that they were leaning more towards a FarCry (we give you an objective, you find out how you want to do it) mentality. I've always wanted to have the gameplay of Call of Duty in a game where they stick a town in front of me, tell what objectives I need to acheive and let me and my squad go at it. A solid FPS where I'm not on a pre-determined path is a rarity, IMO.

re: "pixelated"

I've had my 15" LCD monitor for a bit more than a year now and I notice nothing of the like. I play a lot of fps games and dont experience ghosting, the viewing angle is quite good and the image is clear. My only complaint is that the max resolution is 1024x768, something I accepted going into the purchase given that it only cost about $250. Dont have the name of the monitor on me right now at work, could post it later if someone is curious. As I'm living in a dorm, the minimal amount of desk space that the monitor takes is great, wouldn't trade it for a 23" CRT - well, not till I've moved out of the dorm.
