Tombs? I'm blanking...where's that @?

Go to Glints and look for a portal. Its the 8v8 team arena.

LA is definately the most extensive makeover.. I love the pirate ship.

By the way, I'm a south side cub fan. I'm happy one team won it here finally but Sox fans are usually more obsessed with the cubs losing than their team winning.

Having lived in Chicago (on the south side) for a couple of years I have to say that I really enjoyed the Cubs/Sox rivalry. You need to be either brave or very quiet to be a Cubs fan on the south side. But the whole Sox fans caring more about the Cubs losing than their own team winning goes both ways. I know many Cubs fans that watch Sox games solely for the joy they feel when they see the Sox lose.

If it ever happens that the White Sox and the Cubs both reach the World Series, I swear that there will be war on the streets.

I just dont understand who keeps on giving this guy money to make movies. These arent small budget films.. dividing Dungeon Siege in two is going to be costly. Who is footing the bill for such absolute crap? And when the first movie comes out, you can bet that it will be bad enough to stop anyone from considering seeing the second.

Looking at buyer comments, the seller of the box claims that the guy didnt pay. Well, would you pay $202.50 for a psp box? I mean, I wouldnt have bid that for a box in the first place, but all the same..

In playing the Hitman games I always thought 47 was such a big guy, he always looks a little conspicious.

There are many worse people to have than Vin Diesel, but I do like that guy from Transporter/Italian Job.

The best news in the story is the fact that Uwe Boll isnt making the movie... it stands a chance.

Agreed. I want a charity boxing match between Derek and Jack.

How about we have the proceeds go to a charity of Paul Eibeler's choice?

Update: Jack Thompson's response to the barrage of complaints the FBA has received.

http://www.penny-arcade.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=17111405#17111405

From the forum post linked in the arstechnica article.

Oh, and this is great btw. Penny Arcade is nuts.

Edit: apparently the letter comes from a post made on joystiq.com from Jack Thompson himself. Its under the story, post 10.

Im looking forward to playing this on the "epic mode"....

This is where Civ shines, IMO, the massive millenia spanning conflicts that it provides. This is the only way I play Civ, on the biggest possible map and with as many turns as possible.

I'm hoping that Civ 4's epic mode lives up to its name, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will at most be as long as a full-length Civ 3 game, given the way that they sped up the pace of the game for multiplayer.

All this X3 talk has me wondering if I should give the series a second chance... they'll have to improve their interface significantly before I do, I think. It could happen..

Myself, with all the games coming out in the fall as they always do, I tend to pick one or two that I really really want to play and hold off purchases on everything else. I must admit that a large part of this is because I simply dont have the money to buy more than one or two games, but all the same it does leave some gaming goodness for the spring and sometimes summer.

I hate to say it but by your logic Daikatana (30 hours) was a great game! Might want to add something in there about the quality of those hours.

Something fundamentally flawed with an argument that says Daikatana was good.

note - 30 hours was taken from a Romero interview pre-release.. I have no idea how long the game actually ended up being.

Defamation of Character: A Jack Thompson Murder Simulator

Penny Arcade wrote about this today. Bascially, since Jack Thompson wont own up and donate $10,000 to charity like he claimed he would if somebody made his game ((http://gc.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=5883), PA made the donation for him. In his name.

I'm guessing you're not a hockey fan..

With new season and the actually enforced 'absolutely no obstruction' it seems like nobody has any idea what they can and cant get away with. Sometimes a ref will make a call when a player's stick even touches another player and other times you can get away with a blatant hook. I like the fact that team that skates harder and faster can use their abilities to win hockey games now, and I want to see the no obstruction policy stay in place, but there has to be consistency. Right now the worst job in the NHL is that of defenceman, because they have absolutely no idea what they can do against the guy parked in front of their goal.

And just because there is no obstruction doesnt mean you cant lay down a hard hit. Some of those guys seem afraid to crush somebody against the boards for fear of being called for holding. But I think that hitting will gradually get harder and harder as the teams start to remember why they dont like each other.

The constant fear of any farmer is that his spot is going to be nerfed in the next patch. This why whenever you see farming location forum posts on guildwarsguru or any of the other GW fan sites somebody inevitably comes on and says that A) "this spot is already known and has been nerfed" or B) "why did you let this out?!? now its going to be nerfed!!!"

So you can understand my hesitancy to let you know my new favourite spot. I will say this though, that going to the forums at GW fan sites such as guildwarsguru.com or gwonline.net can yield some good information about where/how ot farm. Or you can do whatever nin did to get his crazy uber drops

Edit: fixed various typos and missed words

I don't know, the arguments he made sounded quite reasonable.

That said, it still sucks when I go to my favourite farming spot and fail to get a single purple drop after fighting for an hour.

This isnt about whether or not Blizzard will do anything with information they have the ability to collect, but that Blizzard has the ability to collect said information.

I simply don't trust Blizzard, or any company for that matter, with access to such information regardless of an EULA.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad to be WoW-free

Agreed. Stopped playing WoW, got life back.

This is cool, all the fun of combat mission as well as the ability to string battles together in a meaningful way. I was impressed by the quick start scenario generator for CM, which I'm betting Campaigns will be using to generate the battles.

I skipped getting CMBB in favour of getting CM Afrika Korps.. but now it looks like I'll need to fill in the gaps.

I hope they extend the idea to their Middle East game with the new engine. My only gripe with CM (and its minor) are the dated graphics.

How would you like having an Aunt/Uncle the same age as you?

I went to school with someone in that situation, his uncle was in the same class. At that point there really isnt any point in calling him Uncle John (or whatever) because the saying is 'respect your elders' and his uncle was actually younger than him.

(How do I save all hostages on a level when we kill all the enemies before I even get to the freaking hostages???)

I believe I had the same problem with CZ, my solution was to take some really crappy bots as teammates, so they wouldn't destroy the other team. Its still hard, and the fact that you cant count on support makes it harder, but it is doable.

the Combat Mission games are excellent. Its a strictly military sim, I would expect no penalties for dismantling a city building by building.
