I guess he's talking about steam causing problems with places that you can go to play video games on PCs, game centers. I'm not really familiar with them and am surprised such places exist in great numbers (other than the l33t places for competitions). Then again, I must be one of the 1% that doesn't need to wait years to play HL2, because I buy my own PCs and games. You'd think the people interested in that market would just spend a couple hundred bucks, go console, and rent games from blockbuster.

We'll soon see how well Steam is accepted. If Steam is as useful as some say it is, then it will be widely accepted with the HL2 release. If Steam causes more problems than it solves, then people will simply find ways around it.

From the number of people on bit torrent, I don't think Activision avoided choice #1. Plus, there are legit people that are using CD spoofing with Doom 3, just to avoid CD swapping, so I guess it's not covering all the virtual CD packages out there.

No. I've played Doom. I've played Doom 2. I know id. I've even paid attention to the Blues News peep reviews. Some games, even these days, are obviously going to be good. Good games deserve to be supported to keep everyone from becoming a console developer.
Besides, 50 bucks is nothing to people who drop $2000 for a gaming rig.

It's true. What'd ya expect.. this is DOOM we're talking about guys, not exactly Oscar material. Simple plot.. and who the heck even remembers what the plot WAS anyways? Big guy shooting everything that moves. Pretty freeeakin simple.
