These keys are on a first come first serve basis and the current pool of keys have run out. You have been put on a waiting list.

Dear WoW,

You have been put on a waiting list until I have tried D&D online.

What ever happened to the SWG space expansion? I hardly hear anything about it.

Is it anything like the x-wing/tie fighter games of old?

I told ya Ray... bugs.

Check out their boards for new bugs related to Windows XP SP2.. one of them is a crash on exit. Also, make sure you're able to loot the dead mobs.

Tip: some of the NPCs you hire tend to take some of your phat lewt. Fill their inventories up with junk so they can't grab anymore They'll also sell items when you visit a merchant. I found out the hard way after letting a NPC hold onto one of my uber weapons. Later on I noticed it turned into a bunch of gold coins

I've got to wonder how many improvements console game developers can make.. for the same exact hardware platform: same processor, same video card, same sound, and same amount of memory. After 5 years, you'd think the devs couldn't make a much better madden, a better FPS, a better RPG, or whatever game genre you like. Unless of course their first stab at it was sub par. Sure, they can add some new features here and there, but there's no way you're going to make the jumps you see with the PC.

You didn't have problems scrolling around the dungeons, where it would "lock up" for a minute?

I knew it was pretty much a D&D "combat simulator", so that didn't bother me. Even when the game exited when doing certain quests (even some of the walk through docs include the expected crashes) that didn't bother me too much. Having to wait for a minute because I scrolled to the left (right, up, down) too much bugged the heck out of me.

It was Patch 2 and the Co8 fixes. If you've updated XP to SP2, you may want to hold off until they fixed some recently reported bugs.. such as not being able to loot. :x

And how many months has it been since it was released? More than 3 months. I had just recently bought it and applied the patch 'before' playing it at all.

You don't need 3 months of extra QA to see that cursoring to away from your party too far causes SEVERE "lag". How many months are you going to give them before you start blaming them?

It's amazing how much slack people give Troika. I played ToEE after patching it and it still crashes like an alpha version.

Heh, with the HL story printed right in front of me.. it looks.. oddly.. familiar....

If "a captivating story is a must for any great modern FPS game", I guess I haven't played any great modern FPS game... and neither have you (unless you think HL/D3 is a captivating story line).

For such a large majority of PC gamers who expect a First Person Shooter to have a detailed, immersive story.. there sure seems to be a lack of FPS games that have it.

I don't think FarCry (sucky ending and all) had any more of an interesting story line than Doom 3 did. Unreal 2 was worse. In fact, ever since HL I can't remember the last time I played a FPS that had a story which stood out.

No, "most" of us play console games like Madden 2005, as shown by any decent gaming market pie chart. Rich, captivating stories are a minority in games. So, cut the "most of us have moved beyond" crap and just say you personally prefer games with a story.

And Id DID make a story for D3, it's just the HL2 fanbois like to trash D3 before they even know what the hell their game is about. Here's an easy prediction, HL2 won't live up to the hype either.

I was worried that I wasn't going to have anything to play while waiting for HL2, after finishing D3.

I'm still worried

The loss of weapons in D3 to me was much less painful than in FarCry.

BTW: The meaningfulness of the pre-load isn't so much the content itself as it is the annoucing and the delaying.

Maybe they'll celebrate last year's HL2 delay with another one. It just goees to show Gabe did open his mouth during the D3 release just to get the "1 title purchase per quarter" people to wait for HL2... even though it's not ready yet.

Well, the CC stuff will be needed for online HL2 purchases.

In the future, they can potentially start charging for game updates via Steam as well. Especially, since they could be using "MMORPG" sized amounts of bandwidth to distribute/authorize/patch a game for a much larger audience and if they're the only access point for this data.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
