No,it's more like:

(lvl40 Undead) Im here in the newbie zone to kill you Humans and destroy your homeland. Will you accept my offer to die?

(lvl 5 human newb) What? I'm just a newb, leave me alone.

* the newb is chased until he attacks (newb move) which then allows the undead to kill him *

That's how it was. I actualy waited in the newb zones to spank these griefers. It was actually quite fun. Hear attack reports near newb zones, spot some newb bait, wait behind a tree with a good vantage point for the newb killer, and ambush the sucker.

OK Batman, you're a smart shopper. That's great. I'm sure someone out there appreciates your advice.

"I can assure you that it’s going to ship on January 18"

Sounds very Gabe-ish to me...

I'm still trying to think of how this anouncement is going to lead to another let down again. The only possibility I can think of is Vivendi rejecting it... although I can't imagine that happening.

You know Batman, I'm confused as well. You yourself have made the decision to avoid purchasing anything online because of the potential of being ripped off or having someone steal your CC#. A decsion to purchase from, for example, gogamer.com instead of ebgames.com because they don't have the "click here to be charged $9 a month" link isn't too different than your own very reasoning. We choose to purchase only from online sites that we feel "more secure" with or less likely to be ripped off from.

Does that clear up some of your confusion? Or maybe I should be more clear: gogamer.com does not try to sell me magazines when I buy something or display what could be considered a deceptive link when I check out. I find that to be a plus.

It's not a hoax. If you do a little searching around the net you'll find plenty of places that mention reservation rewards/EBGames. Maybe you should have asked that EB rep if they've had a business relationship with reservation rewards.

http://cookedgamers.net/node/view/220

After you complete your order at EB, you will see a link on the confirmation page near your order total that says: "Your purchase is complete. Click here to claim your special reward for your purchase today. [Continue button]."

Its a 30 day trial for a service called Reservation Rewards, there are no charges associated with the trial as long as you cancel within 30 days! You get a $10 Gift voucher for EBgames after you enter your email addy on the signup page when a confirmation window pops up and you get an email with the voucher code.

So just go back to your account and cancel the order and reorder it with the $10 gift voucher!

Total cost: $39.99 - $10 Voucher - $20 Voucher (-$10 UT2k3 MIR) = $0

Be sure to cancel the reservation rewards within 30 days. Cancellation number is 1-888-688-5995. THERE IS ALSO A CANCELLATION PAGE ONLINE ON THE RESERVATION REWARDS WEBSITE... I JUST CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP AND GOT A CANCELLATION NUMBER, SO YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO CALL TO CANCEL, JUST USE THE WEBSITE."

OK. So if you were savvy enough to take advantage of that deal and cancel it, cool. If people want companies like EBGames to play games like that with you, then buy from them. If you'd prefer to avoid junk offer links like that, spend your money on competitors that don't do it.

Be smart consumers, show companies like EBGames that BS like this is unacceptable and maybe, just maybe next time you won't need to worry about them throwing something else in your shopping cart that you didn't want or request when you check out. Show it by buying the product from places that don't do this.

I haven't used EBGames as a source for awhile. This makes it permanent. I'll be looking at ordering from gogamer.com, outpost.com, a local gamestop.com, or even Walmart before I consider EBGames in the future.

See? Even Ken plays WoW. I like WoW too. It has a solid feel to it, as you'd expect from a Blizzard game. It should have a better launch than EQ or DAoC did.

Haven't tried T:V yet.

No HL2 thread is complete without the words "STEAMing pile".

I liked starting off with a single player PC vs. comp game in starcraft to get used to the game. Is there any AI in 40k or ability to go with human vs. AI lan games?

You can tell when other FPS games are about to ship. The last HL2 "we're almost ready" blurb was because D3 was about to ship. T:V is probably getting close to shipping now.

I wouldn't hold off on any other game purchases because of HL2, unless you don't care to play any new games for the next two months.

Well there it is. What we've already knew is now in blue and yellow. See ya Acclaim. To me, you've been gone for a while. But now it's final.

I've heard of people being able to recover lost games (lost their original CDs) because of steam, but what happens if someone else gets your steam account and password (either stolen, given to a friend, etc.)?

If this is a problem, I hope Gabe has a decent steam account password.

I'm not in Europe, but I think our European gaming friends would rather be a part of the next big Turbine game (at the same time we in the U.S. are), rather than be given access to the old ones. Hopefully, that will happen next time.

The jury is still out on Atlantis. Yeah, I'm not really fond of that lady in charge either. I preferred the woman they originally had cast for the spin off in SG-1.

I miss action Jack. Desk jockey Jack just isn't the same.

It's difficult to be creative for 7 years. It was a decent series that I looked forward to watching, but I liked B5 more. I remember losing my interest in B5 after season 4, but before that I was looking forward to finding out what the next piece of the "plot puzzle" was. I never did find out what happened to Bester.

I never did get into Farscape for some reason and found myself skipping the last season or two. I guess I wasn't captivated enough to be interested in getting answers to questions in the plot.
