Exit polls suck.

early 2000 exit polls showed Gore +3 in Florida; showed Gore-Bush even in CO (Bush won by 9), 2000 exits showed Gore +4 in AZ (Bush won by 6)

I may not agree with Zathrus on everything, but it's nice to see constructive debate once in a while.

Bush got the CIA to lie to the American public

Or maybe the CIA had no clue. Even Russia believed there were WMDs in Iraq. All the debate in the U.N. at the time was centered around how to enforce their Iraq's lack of compliance. I'm sure the inspectors would still be looking for them today. But no, that's the idea of a stupid American, right?

Halsy, you're the one who seems to be disregarding valid points and responding with "because I said so" remarks.

You could pile in another 100,000 troops and you still won't stop every car bomb. In fact, you'll probably create more targets.

It's funny how even Bin Laden gets it when the Bushies don't.

You agree with him? I'm sure he'll be pleased.

And no, simply shifting troops and training Iraqis won't prevent it.

Your opinion. Maybe you should explain why shifting troops and training Iraqis won't prevent it. How many more troops do you think the U.S. needs there anyways?

"No, your security is in your own hands. And every state that doesn't play with our security, has automatically guaranteed its own security."

Someone tell him that New York State voted overwhelmingly for Gore in 2000.

"Compromises" with our allies France and Germany will not result in any troop support from them, no matter what the election results are. Please tell me who who will be sending troops if Kerry is elected. We've already begun moving troops from Europe, where they're no longer needed. Let the EU pay for their own defense.

We'll also reduce the number of troops in South Korea and hopefully that will make the protesters there happy. Having thousands of troops across the border from a nuclear power simply isn't very effective. Too bad all those "compromises" we made in the 90's didn't stop the North from developing nuclear weapons. Soon that will be the same scenerio with Iran.

A draft is not likely at all with repositioning of existing troops, an Iraqi army, and Iraqi elections/reconstruction.

If you look around, you will find legislation and plans for a new draft board.

Who is behind this legislation? Can you say, Charlie Rangel? Now why would a liberal Democrat try to reinstate the draft? Pure political trolling.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/01/07/rangel.draft/

I still don't understand why liberals need to make up issues to bash Bush on. There are plenty of real issues out there to take a stand on, but no one bothers to discuss them.

Wow, not a sigle mention of the currently ongoing WoW stress test yet. Looks like Fileplanet did it again and bought themselves the stress test.. and is currently getting hammered by all the traffic. So much for a paid service (yes you need to pay for the FP sub to get into the stress test). But, there's still the Open Beta in a week.

Cheese, fix your post. It's widening the thread.

Anyone who would decide to play GW (aka Diablo 3) instad of a MMORPG probably wasn't going to pay $15 a month for a MMORPG anyways. GW is a game that you'd play in addition to a MMORPG, not instead of.

BTW: the kind of hissy fix your throwing now is very much like what I saw in 'virtual battle net' chat channel 73 of GW. If you really like GW, you're doing a crappy job of promoting it.

I'm trying one of the missions solo.

I'm a tank/mage (warrior/elementalist) and I have a monk henchman (healer). LOL, the battles are definately different than what I've experienced before. The toughest battles so far have been a stalemate. The mob takes at most 1/4 health from me and the monk just heals, but my regular attacks also only hurt the mob at most 1/4 health, before he heals himself. I can go eat for an hour and come back to see nothing changed. The key (and I suppose this is where "tactics" come in) is to use a combo of moves (AoE, Staggering blow, Mighty blow, Counter blow, inferno) in the right order to finally kill the mob. IMO some mobs are regenerating/healing HP way too fast, including myself.

Played through the fist part of what looks like a tutorial. It's about what I expected, the next step in the evolution of Diablo type games (Diablo->Diablo 2->Dungeon Siege->Guild Wars).

The graphics are great and the controls are intuitive for this type of game. The pathing is much in the same for this type of game as well: linear, cliffs are "safe" as you cannot fall off. There is lots of phat lewt with various names and stats. Dialog is short and to the point.

It looks solid, but the Dungeon Siege expansion is still fairly fresh in my mind, so I don't know how long I'd play it. I might still give it a try if the reviews after release are good.

EDIT: Heh, just entered the initial multi-player part of it. Yup, it's a virtual "battlenet" chat channel that my character can roam in, as expected. I see in the upper left "Lion's Arch (District 23). You can bet that means there are probably at least 23 other "chat channels" that you can be in. It's nice to be able to buy/sell/trade here.

I'm glad I asked. It had done a bunch of downloading and when the login screen finally came up I thought it might be done.

There will probably be people like me that blow through the install without reading any intructions beforehand... except they'll be doing all their downloading this weekend
