DC: Derek... Derek, you've got Universal Combat: A World Apart, but you don't have me. You were going to kill me, Derek. You're gonna have to come down here. You're gonna have to come down here.

Derek: I've done far worse than kill you, Publisher. I've hurt you. And I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you as you left me, as you left all my games: marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet, buried alive. Buried alive.

I didn't play M59, but did play UO. How massive was M59 at its peak? I'm reading in the forums comments like.. "Oh yeah, there are people still playing on server 101! There were 40 people on last night!". Um, 40 people. Heck, that's the size of a WoW raid group.

You know there's buggy and there's ToEE buggy. I played BF1942 right after release and I can't recall being frustrated with any show stopping bugs. I was able to play for hours and hours on all the different MP maps with 32 players on each side. I played it until I got sick of it (the music that played while the maps were loading is still playing in my head), not because of bugs. I played ToEE after their first major patch and I can still remember the crashes with that thing.

What were the bugs that got in the way of gameplay for BF1942? Was it the framerates?

I like coop, but there are some games that just don't mesh well with coop. The BF series is one such example. Those that are looking for coop should be looking for the next NOLF2 type game. BF2 should be just what the "team oriented" gamers are looking for.

I don't know what's more surprising, the fact that M59 still exists or the fact that it's still pay to play. Those screenshots look horrid.

Zephalephelah, the sunrise discussion wasn't a serious one. If you're going to try to look smart in front of all of us and say:

"Your payscale increases- raises. Did you get that raise? I hope you get a raise soon. I asked for a raise.

You're stupid, uneducated, and lack basic social understanding. But hey, at least you play video games.."

Take a look at your own cut/paste at the British definition (#14).

14. Chiefly British. An increase in salary or wages; a raise.

Arrogance and ignorance, what a great combination!

Pre-ordered at ebgames with free overnight shipping (I see it's free 3 day now) and the free headset.

OMG I want to buy 5 copies!

OK.. ok.. maybe we're all a little too hyped up on this game. It's just been a while since there has been a good 64 player FPS type game. I think those of us who have been playing MMORPGs are ready to change over into the FPS gaming cycle for a while. Besides, it IS the next "big game".

Funny thing about turning the corner. If you're always taking a left turn, you'll eventually end up right back where you started. Never played a DS game, but this Forumcruiser 2005 demo looks entertaining.

We saw how many problems there were between DS and DC when Universal Combat was in the process of being kicked out to the curb for consumption. I guess I'm wondering how the heck they tolerated each other to get this one out after all that previous crap. Talk about another accident waiting to happen...

Post II is better. Sorry, but post I would have only been better in the original Knights of the Old Republic release thread.

Whew, I was afraid I wouldn't get a chance to use the words, "STEAMing pile" again. Just admit steam adds complexities to legitimate software ownership that previously never existed and be done with it.
