  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
In other words, future games will be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator of xbox.

No crashes with DooM, but my sound keeps cutting out every so often and I have to exit the game completely to get it back, which is annoying... I'm putting this down to my having an NForce board and using Soundstorm... Curious to hear if anyone else is having the same or similar problems?

Heres a few console commands that I just find handy to know.
(console is called with ctrl+alt+~)
s_restart restarts the sound system
bind binds a command to a key
(usage; bind k s_restart that should restart sound every time you hit k)

vid_restart restarts renderSystem (no more quiting
your ongoing game just because you tweaked your settings.)
And finaly for the boys that's running the self shadowmod
all you would have had to do was type,
G_showplayershadow 1.%) (Is that realy considered a Mod)

I just like knowing this stuff, and by the way id .pak
files can be opened and unpacked with winrar.:D

was'nt Beyond Good & evil a frenchie? (ubisoft to boot.) I loved that game.
but that must be one of the very select few.
Ubi totaly botched up on an number of ocassions, what with XIII antiparicy thing not liking certain cd-roms (thinking the where image drives, or something. and not so long ago, the whole charade of the farcry 1,2 patch (the one patch that might have made that game slightly more playable, gets recalled just a few hours after realese, come on you postponed that shit for months.

(Still Who cares, D3 is out and I'm loving the old school action remake.
They should have called it DOOM v2.0 instead of DOOM3, that might have helped some people from thinking it was system shock with shadows.)

I have a reserve on an ebgames store not far from my work.

but yesterday I couldn't help myself so downloaded the realoaded versio. and dare I say it runs Sweet:D at 1280*1024.

p4 3ghz
1024 ddr333
9800 xt 256
etc. etc.

Ps I think I might keep My legal copy nrfb, just for the hell of it.

Got same wave thingie going on ocasianly, what seems to happen is that the game puts your water quality into "custom", just try switching back to your original setting, (works for me.)

And this from the patch that recieved (more or as much as)hype (and failed deadlines) as most full games, like pop sot.

however this patch let me crank my b**ch up to 1280*1024 (4aa 1af:))
on my 9800xt.
for once this was nearly the patch that made the game fun.
this fiasco that is ubi (the o so familier copy protection dealie with XIII) chalking one more up for ubisoft.

I'm not even sure x800 or the 6000 line of cards have been imported yet either anways the stock would'nt be a tenth of what's to be found in the us.

I checked, and the cards are listed on kompletts website, but the date of in stock:) is listed as unconfirmed, basicaly that means, whenever. (kinda like the realease date of dnf or hl2.)

PS. (why can't I edit my post)

Since I am one of those geekboys that has actualy upgraded my system specs for this game (and Half life2) twice already He he..........:(
I feel slightly vindicated buy the system req's from
http://www.doom3portal.com/info/systemreq.php I was already considering adding som watercoolant and overclock.

(currently playing with a)
3ghz p4
abit IC7-g
1g corsair ddr333 ram
9800xt
and totaly 200gb storage.
this rig but me back about a grand $

Sorry I just needed to toot my own horn here, and spacecaptain you need som serius help and alpha (when the version number read 0.02 that should be a clue) very far from any finsihed product(probably wrong thread)
Looking forward to d3, hl2,ph33r etc,

And no I'm not loaded, I just forsake a few things, like food.
