Hopefully this came about not because that week is busy - but instead to sort out the damm bugs that were all over the demo a week ago!

But yeah - they DEFINATELY need to steer clear of the love stories. Nobody wants to see that crap. I mean c'mon guys (i.e. writers @ the Sci-Fi channel), do you honestly think women are watching BATTLESTAR GALACTICA REMAKES on the Sci-Fi channel? Please. Keep that crap out of it and stick to making quality series that guys want to see.

In short: don't screw it up.

Hate to break the news but the majority of the cash for this was stumped up by Sky. That's why it is premiering on Sky One in the UK. Which as the 6th most watched channel (and first among satelite and cable channels) means it does have a LOT of women viewers.

If you also factor in the fact that a lot of fans of the orginal are by now middle aged and married and you come to the conclusion that yes women will see it (my wife saw it - but then hey I have to put up with the L word)

The final nail in the coffin is the fact there are only around 50,000 humans left. This means they need babies fast and as unfortunatly humans can't just shag anything whose butt smells good means there is almost certainly going to be continuing love stories in the series!

PS I still ain't bought a DVD drive and this one ain't changing my mind =)

Yeah I saw it - was alright, still pretty slow though and those ads for Moment of Silence look like pants!

"A cinematic adventure" haven't heard crap like that for a few years.

Shit music, buggy AI (twice I couldn't hit mobs but they could me - once when I nearly had the boss done).

Hopefully they fix this before release day (and get a better soundtrack - I grew out of heavy metal when I was 16)

Yeah 473 does seem a little large - anyone fancy stripping the videos and directx from and redoing it at 200?

This doesn't seem to have changed at all from the console versions including labelling buttons as Z, Y, B and A. The graphics are very colourfull and so fast you barely have time to notice much else - but it does seem to be quite simply textured for the main part.

Switching between the 3 heroes on the fly is still confusing as the game runs so fast that you barely have time to look at the indicator to decide which one you want to tag in next. This also means that although it is essentially a very simple kids game the added control difficulty means it's probably aimed at 7-8 year olds.

This seems a bit of a shame as my 4 year old can do the running about bits!

I had always found pouring a bit of soup (Chunky brand, of course) into the toilet a great method of convincing my mother that I was truly sick.

Make sure you don't go for cream of mushroom or she'll think you've just had a crafty sherman tank and shown her the resulting load of baby batter.

(That should make some of the ill people puke mohahahahaha)

Wait a minute chemists are working on bacteria to remove the caffine from coffee???

WHY???? Without caffine it's just a cup of rather bitter hot brown water that gives you very bad breath!

As for BBC, yeah they are (on the whole) an excellent system. The only two problems are their embarrassing political correctness (political politeness = good, BBC political correctness = cringeworthy) and their dumbed down television news. Their website is excellent, though. My homepage for many years.

Yeah very nice for everyone not british - we have to pay over £100 a year to fund the bbc. Every single household which owns a TV.

Even if you don't watch BBC, who put 30 year old reruns of sitcoms on during primetime saturday night, or listen to their shite radio stations.

You still have to pay over £100 a year. Must say that doesn't really feel like freedom to me!

The "corporation" is also run by total imbeciles - for instance they signed Graham Norton for £5,000,000 but he has yet to do a single program for them. That's approximatley 5000 homes who's TV License money went straight into his pocket - hmmm great value for money.

Whichever, he/she hasn't toked up enough to lead by...yeah, I wonder if (s)he also thinks it's that bad a joke.

and they have to watch movies in PAL format too... man, id miss those 5fps if i was them

Actually PAL dvd's are 25fps whereas NTSC are 23.997.

Anyway easy solution - buy on dvd - mount on wife's laptop install over to mine across lan. Crack for no DVD.

Actually I've never needed a DVD drive before that's why a don't have one. I did have one in '98 but never found a use for it during the machines life (actually I did once find retail dvd's for 30 quid but it turned out my little 333 couldn't decode them without skipping a frame every couple of seconds).

And as my machine is a 2400+ with 1gig of ram, 120gb hdd and a 9800 pro yes I think it will run HL2 just fine thank you.

My main issue with this is I only want HL2 not Counter Strike, HL1 Source or any other bolocks they put on the dvd.

I tried counter strike quite a lot back in the summer of '99 - it was full of annoying kids then - why the hell should I pay for a dvd drive so I can not play it now???

um BOLLOCKS. The game will have to be good to pay out an extra 20 quid for a DVD Rom!

If you don't like him or his games and you don't buy or play them then why do you care if others do?

I don't care - but Derek Smart thread's brighten up my otherwise dreary day like no other. As normal I got woken up before sunrise by my two year telling me "I got poo" (no matter how much we try to change that little phrase he still uses it).

As you can imagine wiping poo off a little boy's bum before you've even smelt the coffee is not the best start to the day. But logging onto blue's news to see a Smart war starting can brighten things up no end!

Devils Advocate here.....

You are good at throwing insults at devs... why dont you do better? Go ahead and make your own game so we (John Q public) can berate your game, your intelligence, say you have sex with animals and threaten you and your families lives.

All I am saying is just give it a chance

I don't create games because I know I couldn't make a decent game. Derek Smart has yet to realise he can't make a decent game and keeps producing shit. If he stops making shit games I'll stop taking the piss.
