it was made with primarily the console crowd in mind...
the game is one of simplicity to the point of almost being shallow...
AI. Dumb as a cinder block.

Pretty much describes gaming and gamers in general these days.

Yeah, because back in my day those ghosts were hard as hell to get around so I could get the power pellets and fruit! Whippersnappers!! Uphill both ways to save the princess in the freezing snow

The dedicated server docs say up to 50 players

I wonder if a new batch of DVDs would be out around Christmas and if so then will these minor nuisances be fixed by then?

I wonder this since I didn't plan on buying the DVDs but asking for them as a Xmas present. My money right now will be abosorbed by Total War: Rome. I already envision this weekend being totally lost due to that game. I better stock up on provisions

Every idiot has a game "review" site nowadays. And they all throw their awards around like candys. Game awards are nothing special anymore.

As if any award, short of the Nobel Prize, are actually worth jack squat (Blockbuster Video Award, Grammy's, MTV Video award).

While I will freely admit to being another idiot with a game review website, let it be known that Sphinx's Sanitarium will never give out awards.

At least not until these game companies start sliding money under the table. Then my ability to sell out will be greater than even a has-been athlete like Joe Namath or Johnny Bench.

If I recall there were more branches to the tech tree than a Mormon family tree. Gawd that game was complex to the point of insanity.

The strategy map component to RTW is real-time? The turn-based system in MTW worked just fine, so I'm hoping this isn't so.

Where'd you read this?

You get a bunch of pigs, pour tar on them, and set them on fire. It will scare the everloving crap out of all nearby elephants. I guess there's going to be an elite "fire pig" squad.

That's the best part about it. Sometime back 2000+ years ago some guys were sitting around thinking, "man we have to beat those elephants somehow. Any ideas?"

"Well, how about pigs?"

"Yeah, pigs. I don't know. Maybe we can set them on fire too or something."

"It's crazy but if anything we'll have some bacon to eat after the fight."

Charging through several units of troops with your elephants is definitely one of the higher moments of gaming this year.

When is it not?

- Age of Kings: Elephant special units that appear to dry hump buildings to knock them over. Awesome in and of itself.

- Rise of Nations: Persian/Indian units are elephants that roll over archers and common foot soldiers

I'm starting to a see trend with the eliteness of a game and it's usage of elephants. There might be a direct correlation. Of course a control study is needed so Disney will need to make a game based on Dumbo Drop. Bonus points if they get Dennis Leary and Danny Glover to contribute their voice acting talents.

I don't see anything about the demo supporting multiplayer but when the full comes out I'm all for some multiplayer on this one. I think Medieval let you play co-op against the computer, right?

That's a heck of a name for a game.

I hope to see it's sequel soon: "Jarhead Jubilee!" or would it be "Punk'd Palestinian"

The girls play in both tourneys.

Anyway, from the floor of the Quakecon tourney I was hearing mutterings that since the Doom 3 competition chairs were given out by drawing numbers, everyone found it odd that "Fatality" just happened to get drawn as well out of 3000 people. Several people do not recall his name being called out when the numbers for the entrants were being drawn.
