wish writing like this would die. Agreed. The cheesy bad pun factor is astronomically high, and should be phased out altogether; I'm positively stunned.
*ducks and runs*

EDIT: Fixed initial post.
EDIT2: All the same, wish I'd found out about it sooner as I would have loved to visit... The Museum of Science in Boston about a decade(???) ago had a Star Trek exhibit which I'd gone to. Was a heckofa lot of fun getting an idea of the NCC-1701-D bridge perspective.
Now all I need to do is build a replica and drop in a simulator program... where'd I put that lottery ticket?

Eh, don't feel too bad, I got 13% - mostly guesses, and I didn't really play the old CS all too much - nor do I play it nowadays.

I'm sorry for your loss. 2008 has been a bit of a down year, it seems like. My condolences as well, Blue..

Love interview on Gry.02.pl |

I almost missed the sidebar with the English translation; I have to say I think I did rather well trying to translate for myself before realizing the English off to the (upper) right.
Anywho, really looking forward to it - and hoping this doesn't fall into a Molyneaux-esque trap.

NASA abandons plan to fly new spaceship |

That's just sad.
Granted, NASA seems recently (in the last decade?) to have been fraught with problems, managerially and technically, but I'd like to see space exploration continue, especially with respect to developing technology to allow us to get off this rock and travel through the solar system (at least), while simultaneously trying to find another rock suitable for human and other life.
I mean, we put men on the moon nearly a decade before I was born; I loved hearing and reading about the stuff that went on "up there". (Star Trek: TNG helped further interest me indirectly, of course.)
We could develop and test improvements to the spacesuit, space shuttle and other devices and (manned) vehicles that mainly rely on those original designs - okay, we're probably already doing that and I'm just being impatient for the results, and very naive...

And this is the most disturbing bit in the article for me:
"The reason why little Yang was not chosen to appear was because we wanted to project the right image, we were thinking about what was best for the nation," Chen said in an interview that appeared briefly on the news website Sina.com before it was apparently wiped from the Internet in China. Actually, more like:
"...we were thinking about what was best for the nation," Well, at least they're being honest with their reasoning, I guess.... hell, we have singers miming themselves over here (some times)!
EDIT: Fixed quotation(s).

Way too many celebrities dying (early) this year, it seems... or is it just me?
Gotta play "Chocolate Salty Balls" now...
EDIT: This, of course, is not meant to downplay "non-celebrity" deaths - loved ones, friends, and so on.

Can you send us a post card? Actually, a friend of mine wanted me to do one better than that - bring back with me a copy of the video taken by the endoscope, after which he'd overdub in some audio a la Jacques Cousteau....

Can't say that I remembered or was aware of him, sadly, but sorry to hear.. my condolences to the family (and Blue and any gamer who knew him, directly or otherwise)...

P.S. Going for endoscopy/biopsy in about 14 hours, 20 minutes... whee. |

Sorry about that. The server has been moved, and I think a database was turned back on before it was done migrating. No worries. I didn't write the ultimate secrets of the universe in there or anything.
....or did I?
I should take a closer look at that Aeron chair you guys are mentioning. It looks a bit weird, but I might have to try one out. Then try justifying the cost..

is up with these tropical New England rainstorms that last all of 10-20 minutes these days?
Morning: Clear sky. Noon: Clouds rolling in. 1pmish: Break for lunch and run to the car as I hear rain slamming down on the roof in our windowless office. Get drenched, close car windows. 5 minutes after: Pull into Subway & Pizza (not the chain Subway), order food. 10 minutes after that: get food, turn around and find blue sky again with rain having mostly stopped. After another 5 minutes: Park back in parking lot, walk to front door and notice the sun teasingly reappearing almost as if to say "ha-ha!".
Chicken Parmesan foot-long sandwich with water and a brownie: $10.03
The look on my face as the sun was eeking out from behind a cloud innocently: priceless.

EDIT: Good luck with the evergreens, Blue!
