I was hoping Ron Gilbert would grab the license, though he's busy making his own game. Oh well, it's better than having it rot in LucasArts' vault of expired games, as if they'd do anything with it.

It'd be cool if Wolfgang contracted Ron Gilbert to make the game. How sweet would that be?

They're basically saying that there's no way to minimize crunch time and that work will only get harder.

But dont fret! They're working on it! Really, they are!

This cheat has been around since beta, and has been reported countless times by myself and others with no response from Blizzard.

One would wonder if they're actually so inept that they cannot fix it.

It'd be nice if they actually fixed the game's AI instead of releasing useless crap like this. Oh well, thank god for Rome Total Realism mod. Creative Assembly sucks at QA.

"Go buy a clue please "
I thought we stopped living in the 80s, shithead.

"MMORPG's ALWAYS wipe characters...ALWAYS. I couldnt even believe some idiots went to level 40 in beta just to do that shit all over again, then bitch about it when they found out (GASP!) that the characters are always wiped at the end of a beta "
I guess both Lineage 2 and Planetside would prove you wrong, then, wouldn't it?

"Exitium: You are a retard. Please, yes, move on to another game and do us all a favor. BETAS ARE FOR NERFING you shithead. Its not the full game what did you expect? You act like Blizzard owes you the right to not fix their own fucking game in Beta. "
You're missing the point, stillmind. The point that I was trying to make was World of Warcraft is just another shitty Everquest clone with crappier graphics than anything else new on the market. I'm sure just pasting the Blizzard logo on the front is going to sell a lot of copies up front but once people discover the 'true nature' of the game they'll likely stop their subscriptions unless they're too fucking addicted to what ever shitty level 40+ character they've managed to make for themselves by devoting months to some virtual lifestyle while neglecting their responsibilities to real life.

Enjoy your shitty MMORPG. I'd rather not play a game with so many 'hooks' and 'timesinks' and go with a game that offers me entertainment up front without forcing me to dedicate weeks of my life to building some shitfaced character just so I can indulge myself in the lacklustre PVP that graces the World of Warcraft. I'd rather be playing games like Half Life 2, Bloodlines or Guild Wars instead of wasting my time on this heap of garbage.

Have a nice life.

Lineage 2 had a 30 day head start with the "Open Beta" which wasn't really a beta at all. Most of the bugs had been fixed 6 months before, but they didn't even implement the Korean patch until 2 months after the game went retail. By then, people had found and exploited all of the bugs.

Wrong. Lineage 2 allowed you to keep your characters, and that game is a complete mess.

The game runs fine.

I don't know what forums you've been to but every single one of my LAN party friends has been playing it with few to no issues. Few of us encountered speech stutter problems but that was quickly fixed by disabling EAX. It doesn't seem to have much effect on the game anyhow, though I've heard that keeping EAX enabled causes massive slowdowns over time.

None of us have had any problems with copy protection and I'm even running a CD-RW/DVD Combo drive, which is notorious for its problems with Safedisc.

Another crappy title I won't be buying after months of beta testing (I was in since Beta 2) and after witnessing the nerfs of the various characters instead of tweaking the weakest characters (Warlock and Druid) to be on par with the stronger ones. They handled it very, very poorly and I have no intention of playing the retail game. It's one thing to endure nerfs through a free session, but it's completely another to pay for the game on a monthly basis and watch as they nerf the character you worked hard on (and paid) for months. I don't want to be a part of that experience.

I'll just be playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (a real, actual RPG) and Half Life 2 in the meantime, before Guild Wars is released.

Just give it time, guys. The server's lagging. When I first authenticated at 12pm PST, it only took a matter of minutes for the game to unlock (around 15-20)

Wrong. It'll be in stores on the 16th. It'll ship out before that, just as Half Life 2 will.

Curiously, I wonder where the Gold statement was.

Who cares if the game is gold? There's a patcher. There will be at least one more patch before Nov 23 and, obviously, constant patches after release.

This MMORPG is more complete at its release than just about any other out there.

Guild wars was beyond boring and lacked a key element: fun.

It's funny that you're one of those kids who scream "nerf" when Blizzard implements a "change".

But what do you care, you won't be playing anyway. (yea, right.)
Constant patches after release? Don't kid yourself. Blizzard's stated repeatedly since the beginning of the beta until now that there will not be constant patches, but rather releases of large patches that don't occur often.

Just because WOW is more complete than any other MMORPG doesn't mean we have to accept it in its current state. After years of development and from Blizzard, nonetheless, one would come to expect something more than an unfinished, buggy, imbalanced product.

I don't know where you get off on calling Guild Wars 'unfun'.

"Change" hah. Tell that to all the warriors who can't tank anymore. What's their purpose now?
