It's funny because Central Mich Uni students have seen massive hikes in tuition because of cuts in higher education funding to Granholm. She'll probably cut more to pay the legal fees, it's a catch 22 huh.

Bitch.

Tumbler, could you troll else where. We are all well aware that no matter how great another game maybe, you'll always play BF2 instead.

We all feel sorry for you, and we're all over it.

The map itself is one of the best custom maps available, easily matching Valve's quality. It diffenently worth looking at if you enjoy Half-Life 2 in anyway.

An update, about an upcoming update, to an update.

Valve loves it's metaupdates.

It'd be cool now if they actually released either a)DoD or b) Lost Cost instead of still talking about em.

Strange that Valve wants to add another feature to one of their products... Fitting for a developer that talks about new features, to actually build a feature around talking. Hope to see this feature, and more importantly THE CONTENT with in the next year or two...

Are old, and been relatively proven to have been from pre-rendered footage. It's not uncommon for developers to prototype a game in a CG to present to a publisher, and that's clearly what happened here.

Generally I think is a top notch title, but it's slower pace is a turn off eventually. It's fun to be part of such a large persistant world, and it really does give a sense of vastness. But with that, comes a sense of vast emptiness. Lol, which makes sense for a space game. But still you can't help but feel alone at times, which detracts from the whole MMORPG thing.

What is cool is you can truely play the game in many different ways. I did trade runs myself, buying ore in one area and shipping it to another. Again tho, not very exciting.

It's just a mixed bag I guess, I want to love it, but I always seem to end up not playing it for a week or two and feel guilty, yes guilty, cause I'm not taking care of my character. Then I stop payments.

Maybe I'll check out this or the November patch. It's worth a try for anyone tho, it is pretty addicting at first and I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that will enjoy the slower, more relaxed atmosphere of the game.

Now, I'll come right out and say this, I might be wrong about the following, but if I'm right... well I am.

For those of you complaining about the lack of support for your video cards, lets examine the facts. If you are using a GF4MX you should have been screwed out the gate. I'm sure most of you know this, but the GF4MX is not a GF4 class product at all, and the core is actually based on the older Geforce 2 cores. This of course means the core you are using, is based on hardware that doesn't support pixel shaders in any way, shape or form.

When Nvidia launched the GF3, it included support for PS model 1.1 and 1.3. You'll see tho, that isn't relevent either. The Geforce 4s came out, and still only supported 1.3 shaders. Even though both GF3 and GF4 cards are DirectX 8.1 cards, they didn't support 1.4.

You'll notice that the min requirements are as low as a 8500 on the ATI side of things, as it supported 1.4 shaders, or Advanced as they were called at the time. This means you're card must at least support 1.4, at least from what I can gather.

While it isn't great that they left out a large segment of the market, you can't obviously expect developers to continue to drive graphics exellence on old hardware. This is how technology works. If you want to buy a console go for it, but remember, after 4-5 years, you'll still have to buy a new one of those.

As mentioned above, you can find great DX9.0 cards at rock bottom prices right now. Nvidia already dropped prices on their entry level product, the 6200 with TurboCache last week in preperation for the G70 class cards. Those are sub 100 dollar products that will run the game. Mind you, you'll have to turn off most of the goodies to get a good framerate. Lol, but hell, you've been doing that for YEARS with that OLD GF4 card anyways.

Here is a great article I Googled up that will bring you up to speed on the timeline of Pixel shaders and what cards support what.

I'd buy that collection alone to play SoR again. Now if they included 2, I'd start peeing my pants right now. SoR3, I'd love ot play, though I know not many people enjoy that one.

I didn't follow the development of this game much, but I recently got back into Desert Combat and now I can't wait for this title. The new teamplay oriented features such as squad leaders, commanders, and a more useful mini map sound great. Also having the voice communication and stats built into the game sound like a solid foundation for a great multiplayer experience.

I don't think publishers are staying away from him because of the book, which I doubt could have sold all that many. It's probably his new publishing venture... Gamecock Media Group, that name alone is infinently more humiliating than doing some shady deals with company money.

I don't have a big deal with PR. I completed a Journalism minor, with an emphasis on pr. However, coming to this site for literally years, its become clear that there has been more actual press releases actually quoted in the news section for the day. I guess I'd just like to see a deticated PR section maybe towards the mornings tech bits that has links and quotes located there. Mind you, that probably wouldn't work, as they release the stuff over the course of the day. I just think the way its laid out on the main page breaks up the information I'm looking for.

This is a news site, so I'd rather hear about news more than just media hyperbole. Nothin against Blue, just my opinion.

I still think that Road Rash 2 was the best of the bunch. EA got it right on that one, as fun as 1 with some good graphical improvements. Then they went and made 3 I think, or the one for SegaCD?Saturn?Genesis?(can't remember) and it tried to use photo-bitmaps for the characters and bikes and it looked ASStastic.

Also this is a good move for Sproing(ehh, terrible name), because that movie is total and utter trash. It's been on HBO or Skinmax lately on repeat and it is God awful. The acting, if thats what you want to call it, is terrible. And the rediculous amount of product placements for Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Bud are rediculous. Fast and the Furious on bikes? No, this is much worse, it's in another level of out right badness. If you happen to catch it on TV, try to stomach 5-10 minutes of it, it is halirious for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully Sproing will continue to distance itself from that terible license and come closer to RR2.

Was this console title that successful? I know it got blasted by many sites and mags in reviews. Also I thought there was a lot of rumors that Atari was buying good reviews or something. Anyways, regardless, does anyone really care about this title coming to PC?

Shit I better take my soul off the market, I was going to sell it to the Devil, but I hear they are in talks for a hostile take over of Hell.
