I've been playing FPS games since they were invented.
I Love regenerating health. The market has shown that the majority of gamers also agree.
Just because you dont personally like a feature doesnt mean its not popular, or a sensible decision for IW to go with it.
Infinity ward are massively succesful. These guys are not idiots, they know their stuff.

I'm one guy with a home office (plus some contractors).
It doesn't make a shred of difference. World of goo was just two guys. Sometimes 100+ teams spend 10 million on a pile of shit. Sometimes one guy makes an awesome game.
Almost all books are written by lone authors, and people don't care what the 'budget' or 'team size' was for a book. Some day, hopefully people will stop caring about who made a game or what it costs, and judge it purely on whether or not it provides them with good entertainment

It saddens me that the ad campaigns budget is news. That is not news, that is just people boasting about how much money they have to spend.
That doesn't make the game better, or more interesting, and everyone on gaming sites knows about the game anyway.
It's just corporate dick-waving of the worst possible kind.
I don't care if they spend $500,000,0000 on advertising a game. I just care if the game appeals to me personally. I don't are if I'm the only person, or the billionth person to like a specific game.
Meh

I am actually genuinely surprised and disappointed at how poor the space battles look. Visually, this looks like a 5-6 year old game at best. What gives?

Steam ignore my emails. Stardock reply to them and so do Direct2Drive. hence it is on impulse, will be on D2D and gamersgate too.
I'm not wasting hours and hours of my life trying to beg steam to check their inbox...

My thoughts exactly. You could do a pretty complex and geeky farm sim game that dealt with crop yields, the weather, the problems of having enough casual labour on the right days, the decision of how to predict what is best to grow so far in advance....

This is not that game. A pity. and a wasted opportunity

yup agreed 100%. Random gamers are jerks, that's the sad truth. Regardless of age they act like retarded spoilt children, and are people you would cross the road to avoid in real life.
Playing against friends FTW

couldn't agree more. This isn't a PR release, its a comment on a publishers forum. I think it shows unusual honesty

maybe some people really enjoy these games and don't mind paying this price?
Or is everyone whose income or enjoyment from a game differs from yours a 'dumbass sheep'?

Sad but true, as with all multi-platform games, the PC port will be an afterthought. The only really good PC games tend to be those that were designed specifically and exclusively for the PC.

Exactly. I could pirate all the games I play but that doesn't support the developers and makes it less likely more such games will be produced

well said,
Basically if you pirate games rather than buy them, you can spend your whole LIFE on forums whining about publishers, developers and how they are all retards who make shit games that arent worth buying or playing. None of them care. You don't make a game for people who won't buy it. By pirating you totally remove yourself from the market, and the debate. Its like complaining about the government but not voting, why should they care?

If you like a game, its in your own interests to buy it, because devs *have* to make games that sell. I knew I could make Democracy 2 because people bought Democracy 1, and I knew making another, better game like that would allow me to pay my rent.
Most game devs are in it almost entirely for the love of games, I know I am, but sadly we have bills too.

" Seriously dude, you post stuff like this and you cost yourself more sales in my opinion. It doesn't matter whether or not you think DRM et al is reasonable or not. "

Err.. My games do not use DRM. None of them.
You are shouting at the wrong person.

Because when you do that with singleplayer games, gamers whine like its the end of the world about "evil developers assraping their firstborn because of teh evil corporate greed."
PC gamers are not exactly easy to please. Not if you also want to actually have any incentive for people to buy the games.

If they want to act like superior twats they should set up a private server.
