maybe we don't consider ourselves 'leet' by hanging around with piracy kids?

I wonder how 'leet' people feel when they realise that last l33t haxx0r crack actually installed a trojan?
I'm guessing not very leet at all...

But hey, if it makes people feel they have a big e-penis by supporting games piracy...

"men. It amazes me that after the horrible PR backlash they got with the original Bioshock, that they'd just stupidly burn themselves on that same shit again. It's really a zoo full of retarded monkeys that runs 2K."

wha?????

you think that it stopped the game being a huge hit? because I assure you it had zero effect. Outside internet messgeboards, the game is a big hit and very profitable. hence the sequel. Shareholders don't give a fuck about people ranting on a forum. They look at the bottom line

I couldn't agree more. Every day I hear horror stories from fellow developers making console or iphone games. Not for me...

I agree, I have very few issues too. PC gaming for em is pretty much as trouble free as console gaming, plus I don't need to hog the TV in the living room to do it. Plus I get mods

Only when 95% of the game playing population of earth have fiber optic to the desktop PC.
Until then, this is just an investor scam.

That is the design and point of the game. I appreciate it's not to your tastes, but that's the whole raison d'etre for making the game, to emphasise pre-battle planning.
It's a love-it / hate-it thing.

I have 4 friends that play this game (guys in my WoW guild) and all I hear from them in vent chat is "oh, more hackers" .. apparently MW2 is riddled with hackers..
GG.. no thanks.

I've never played an online FPS where people didn't claim everyone else was hacking. Normally just after they got shot. Some people are just good.

I agree, but it doesn't require an entire team to be on base for issues post launch

The best people to fix bugs are those who put them in. You think it works better to get a bunch of junior intern coders to fix multi-threading and graphics issues coded by the lead developers?
People fixing code they don't understand statistically do way more harm than good.

This blows my mind, there isnt a game that releases these days that doesnt have bugs and in alot of cases, game breaking bugs and issues.

tells me what utter fucking morons they are and how much these doosh bags care about their online community.

How arrogant these assholes are.

As games get more and more complex in code terms, the likliehood of bugs increases exponentially. Have you ever debugged code on multi-million line pieces of software? I doubt it.

Complexity always leads to bugs. If NASA have problems with space shuttle exploding after using a tried and tested design that they spent billions on, I think its laughable to assume that a PC or console game is going to ship with absolutely zero issues. Especially on PCs where every single shipped piece of hardware is subtely different.
But I'm sure that just arrogance, and you can do a MUCH better job with your ninja game development skills no?

Couldn't agree more, the SFC games were great. Although for obvious business reasons I'm glad they aren't still making them

I agree, but there is a whole generation of gamers who refuse to pay anything. To them , all games, and their time is apparently worth nothing. *shrug*

I couldn't agree more. COD 4 is one of only about 4 games in the history of PC gaming that I have managed to finish. I get stuck or broed usually way before then, and every single step of COD 4 was fantastic and polished.
I also find if funny that people think that games are a certain 'length' measured in hours.
How the fuck do they factor in different levels of difficulty, different play styles etc. I actually take the time to enjoy and immerse myself in a game, I don't treat it as a race.
I bet less than 1% of the COD4 players thought it should be longer. They are just noisier.

I guess its useful because it shows what games are actually out, on sale and new (as opposed to just on their fourteenth pre-release hype building press release) and what games other gamers find popular.
I wouldn't have ever given half life a try if it had not dominated so many sales charts, because back then it wasn't my style of game, but I'm glad I did.
