agreed 100%, but many of the pirates that are killing off PC gaming would still like to cling to some infantile excuse to claim what they are doing isn't wrong.
It is wrong, and it is illegal, and you can (rightfully) get your ass prosecuted for it.

I love the fact that even though 2 big name PC developers have recently come out and said piracy is killing PC gaming, all the pirates still like to pretend it's not happening. What do they want? a message from jesus, countersigned by the pope saying that it's true?

"I don't think that piracy is the problem of your low sales. "

actually I dont have low sales and never said I did. You can just rpesume that if it makes you feel better. show me a post where I complain I have low sales? good luck.

Im supposed to worry because you won't show my games to you freinds? if they are pirates like you, why do I care? you and your friends just steal games anyway, so as far as people making commercial games are concerned, your opinion isnt worth noting.

Ive made this point earlier, try re-reading it.

"Cliff, I don't see you on dialup on a 486 PC running DOOM at home"

you have abvsolutely no fucking clue as to how well off or not I am.

Sorry if you want to live in some fucking dream world where all game developers are your bitches living on a poverty line, but that aint the real world.
Stop making pathetic excuses to justify stealing other peoples work. You arent kidding anyone.

If you support the idea of communism, have the guts to be open about it, rather than dreaming up some shit about all games not being good enough.

If they arent good enough to play after the demo, don't take them. Its not complex.

"Does this hurt the industry? No"

As someone who runs a games company and sees the figures, I think I'm in a better position to know the answer to that than some self-justifying kid posting all day on a messgebaoard about hwo its fine to steal.
Funny how everyone pretends to be an economics expert on an industry they have never worked in, if it lets them justify theft.

"Piracy improves the PC"

what serious fucking drugs are you on?

Try running a business instead of bitching about the products you steal from other people.

"I would also like to say this: When the majority of games are persistent, pay-as-you go, MMO type affairs, I will retire from gaming"

and yet as a self-confessed pirate, you are pushing that day ever closer. nice one.

if you dont like starforce vent your rage at the leeches and thives who have made copy protection neccesary, not the developers trying to ensure their hard work isn't abused and taken for nothing.
Without piracy there would be no DRM, yet when we say that piracy affects sales we are described as 'high and mighty'.
Its sad.

"The market is changing, and the industry has to rethink their strategies... "

if you steal the games, you don't contribute to the market, as I said earlier. You are invisible to the market because you aren't paying anything into it.
The worst irony in the world is pirates bitching about the state of the games market. If you opt out of the capitalist system, it's no good bitching about it.
I'm sick of arguing with the leeches and thieves here. You claim to care about PC gaming, but developers (remember them, the guys who MAKE these games you enjoy) are constatntly telling you how its your actions that are killing it off.
The way most people see it, taking stuff you didn't pay for, and which isn't free, is theft. You can argue your way through 10,000 posts on the internet to try and make yourself feel better, but anyone who isn't a selfish leech already knows what they think of you.

I don't use DRM.
My EULA is practically non existant.
I allow format shifting between mac and PC.
I have demos for all my games.
I price my games below most PC games
I provide good technical support.
I allow re-downlaods of digitlly bought copies even years after initial purchase.

Yet still people pirate my games. I would *love * to think that only games made by evil corporate bastards who try and squeeze money from their customers at every turn, who fill games with adverts and DRM, and provide zero tech support, are the ones getting pirated, but my experience is that pirates take *every* game. They don't bother tos ee who the developer is, or even try the demo first. They just see it, and they take it.
As for the house thing, we are avoiding the minor issue of the hosue costing 10,000 times as much aren't we?
Do you get a full demo of an apple before you buy it? do you get to digest it first? What about a meal? I've ordered pizzas that cost more than a downloadable PC game. I did this without a demo. Millions of people do this every single day. If there were no staff at restuarants, I'm sure many would leave without paying.

How dare he give a toss about paying for stuff eh?
face facts, this guy has shown that even on his salary, he doesn't have to stoop to stealing games. and yet you do.
That says quite a lot.

*sigh*

you pirate games.
the develoeprs spot this and move to a platform that has way less piracy
you now blame us develoeprs for leaving the platform
Just *try* and think your logic through.

Your not kidding anyone mate, you steal stuff because you think you won't get caught, and you try and desperately justify it by saying "not all games have screenshots" and other bullshit.
I'd have more respect for someone who actually admitted he was just a thief.

you've never seen screenshots of oblivion?
my you are getting desperate now aren't you?

consider this mr pirate,
Whenever you purchase a game, the developer gets money, they get an incentive (a strong oen) to make mroe games like that. Every single sale goes into spreadsheets that convey information that "games like oblivion are cool" and "games like star trek legacy are shit". If you pirate a game, nobody ever knows you did it. Nobody gets pauid for it. As far as the developer knows, that game sucked.
No sequel
No expansion pack
no tech support

Nice work. If you really gave a damn about good PC games, you would buy them, to signal to the develoepr that this is what you want.
but I guess you just want free stuff, and don't give a shit.

pure bullshit.

the best way to buy a house is to live in it for twenty years first. How much of a demo do you get with a product that takes you twenty five years to pay for?
Normally a few hours at most.
