I bought and played it, then sold it second hand. Those specs are laughable. Take the recommended spec as the bare minimum and you might be in the right area.
It's also punishingly difficult.

I looked forward to this and bought it, but have since lost interest and here is why:

The game has stupidly high demands of your PC for even the very lowest, and most mediocre graphics settings. My PC happily runs COD 4 and Company Of heroes on high-very high, but it struggled on 'very low' with Arm-A. I have no idea what machines reviewers played it on, but I'm guessing minimum quad core PCs with cutting edge SLI and 4 gigs of RAM.
My machines is a core 1 duo 2 gigs 8800 GTS, and it ran so badly as to be unplayable, and that's even on very low res with everything at bottom.
I'm sure there is a great game in here struggling to get out, but unless your PC is ninja-spec be very wary of buying this without trying a demo.

yeah right.
because your incentive to legally buy the full game when you already have the full game pirated is exactly the same as if you tried a cut-down demo.

What pathetic bullshit. And yet you are still touting this crap...

you have some serious self-esteem issues if you are ashamed to buy a specific genre of computer game.
Unless you are eight years old, who actually gives a shit if their friends dislike their fave game genre?

I tried the demo and was surprised how addictive it was. I was initially put off a bit by the graphics but its cool how quickly that just doesn't matter. It's certainly worth a try.

firstly, 99% of employees do NOT need office pro. In fact, 99% need maybe microsoft works, which is normally free.
It's a free market, if the open source free stuff was better, it would be used more. Nobody forces 3d modellers to use max (they can use blender). I bought poser rather than use a freeware version because it was that much better than the freeware software.
Also, you do not *have* to use the latest versions. I've found that older versions of both Max and photoshop still work just fine for anything I'd use them for. It does buig me that they don't make slimmed down versions of those 2 apps, for much lower prices though.

There are reasons (to be revealed later) why the battles are hands-off, but it might be something I could add (an RTS mode) at some later stage.
I'd love to see this game for sale on impulse. I wouldn't be surprised if we sorted that out. This is a totally different game to GalCiv and Sins and I think would work well alongside them.

how has your country being 'armed' helped?
Your crime rate is no lower than anywhere else, and your homicide rate is way higher, close to that of Columbia.
There is zero evidence that an armed population has led to greater democratic accountability of government.
Gun ownership in the US seems to have only one discernible effect, that of vastly higher homicide rates.
Your constitution arises from a wild-west history that has long since become irrelevant. British people don't expect the laws on compulsory archery practice to still be relevant today. Why do you assume 1800s firearms attitudes are still relevant today?

given that sites like reflexive take the vast majority of the money, and leave the developer with maybe a dollar per sale, don't let the developer have the email address of the buyer, and reserve the right to slash the games price to near pennies without even informing the developer, I'd say no, reflexive is absolutely zero alternative. In fact, I recently yanked every one of my games from there because of the stunts they pull.

"and get his backside on steam asap (as much as i dislike steam, for indy devs it sounds like a great place to be) "

Easier said than done. Steam look at your game and decide if they like it. uif they don't you are stuffed. Its not like its an open platform. Steam sells games that Valve like, its not a simple matter of asking to be listed there.
Stardock and GamersGate stock my games, but Valve don't. They have never told me why.
There are tons of good indie games like Lux and Masters Of Defense which are not sold on steam, and likely never will be.

the problem is that AI gets a very small CPU budget in comparison with the graphics. This is marketing and business driven. You sell games based on shiny screen shots. Once people find a way to show the AI on the box cover and screens, THEN you might see more attention given to it.
Sad but true.
Otherwise stick to graphics0lite games such as turn based strategy or old hex games. there its all gameplay and AI, and the graphics are workmanlike.

I'm confused on that too, but don't expect the piracy apologists to give a fuck about the people who make the content that they so desperately want, and then slag off so they can justify not paying for it...

you never fail to trot out bullshit do you jerk?

You do realise the reason pirate sites are popular is because self-righteous thieves like to get stuff without paying right?
If they didn't then they could quite happily go to the twenty billion other sites that will tell them about new games.

Just have the balls to admit you want to freeload off everyone else, rather than cloaking it with this bullshit. people would respect you mroe for it.

I'm excited about the idea of a WW1 game, but why the fuck introduce zombies and other crap into it? Wasn't WW1 scary enough, given the number of people slaughtered for absolutely no real reason?
