What is so shocking about this movie? From what I can tell, it deals with info that's common knowledge at this point. Everyone knows that the Bushes, the Bin Ladens and the Saudi royals have close ties.

I strongly disagree. I think Nintendo's main problem is that they DON'T think outside of the box anymore and are afraid to take chances. Mario Sunshine, Zelda: WW, the new Mario Kart and F-Zero games, etc. are the exact same games we played years ago on Nintendo 64 with better window dressing. Nintendo's games are just not evolving at the rate they used to, which is disheartening considering how much they contributed to video game design in the 1980s and early 1990s.

This game takes the entire Final Fantasy series, bends it over, violently rapes it, and then kicks it in the teeth with such force that it causes every Squaresoft fanboy to simultaneously explode in a shower of lard and Doritos.

Diablo 2 was way behind the curve when it came out. I actually thought it looked worse than part 1 thanks to the increased character movement speed which really showed the limitations of the Diablo engine in the form of choppy scrolling. Then there was the 640x480 resolution issue, which they corrected in the expansion. I didn't like the artwork either, but that boils down to personal preference. I look at Diablo 2 as the low point in Blizzard's career.

I didn't hear Nintendo whining when NEC and Sega put out more powerful hardware 3 years into the NES's life cycle or when Sega and Sony put out more powerful hardware 4 years after the SNES came out. There were no comlaints of industry accelleration back then because Nintendo was at the top of their game and didn't need to blame someone else for their troubles like they do now.

What I don't understand is why Microsoft is the scapegoat. It's not like Sony would have waited until Nintendo was ready to lauch their next system. We're actually about due for new generation of consoles seeing as how this generation started with Dreamcast in 1999 and continued with PS2 in 2000. I don't see what the fuss is about.

One of the problems right now is the focus developers are putting on questing. WoW is all quests to the point where you're actually at a disadvantage if you aren't linearly doing quests. You advance much slower if you decide to just go out and kill monsters because of the ridiculous experience penalty system. The genre is actually getting more restrictive as time goes on.

Instead of genetically engineering cows, lets start testing the ones we have. You know, like they do in Japan. There are slaughterhouses that want to test each and every cow that goes off to slaughter, but the USDA is stonewalling them. Why? Because they know there are more BSE-infected cows out there, and they don't want to risk further damaging the American beef industry by finding them. Every meat-eating Americans should be screaming from the top of their lungs for universal testing.

I'd be more inclined to blame mediocre PC exclusives than console ports. How many MMORPGs and war-themed tactical first-person shooters do we really need? If the PC industry is any indication, at least 2 a month. Console ports are a symptom of a larger problem, and that problem is lack of originality.
