You should be shot & killed, your body quartered, cremated, and sent into the inferno of the sun so your gayness does not pollute the world.

LOL.
I've heard worse. Haha.
Is that the best you can come up with though?

When was the last time you were with the opposite sex?

Well I never have been with the opposite sex. But that might be because I'm gay. This could possibly affect my thoughts about Alyxx. And now I shall meditate on this.

It sounds like somebody needs to be reprogrammed. For another $20 Valve will probably fix it or you.

It is rather dumb that while I keep running out of ammo Alyxx has 900,000 extra clips hidden between her boobs or wherever she hides it. I'm hoping they only charge 10 dollars to fix this though.

And she can kill zombies with one kick, while it takes Gordan like 10 shots with the 9mm or two or three with the shotgun to kill one. (on hard)

And I'm really tired of the way the game seems geared towards horny 13 year old boys. With the "Is there room for one more in that suit?" lines and other such nonsense.

But other than that I like it. I have to say that I enjoyed Sin Episodes : Emergence more though, even if it had bad A.I.

I originally read that Episode one would be 8 dollars. Silly me for believing that...

I wish Id Software or someone would release episodic expansions for Quake 4 and Doom 3. Maybe they could make an online content delivery system like Steam.

*Ducks under flying bricks*

I'm not very far into it yet but a couple of things bug me already. (Even though overall I like it.)

1. Why doesn't that gun Alyxx uses ever run out of ammo?

2. Why don't any of the combines I kill in the tower drop the weapons they fire at me? They disappear?

And I'm actually getting tired of the "3D shooter with a chick" syndrome that this game suffers from. Like Far Cry and many others before it.

I really like it so far. Very cool effects in the citadel and the HDR rocks. I wish all of HL2 had HDR. It feels more carefully crafted somehow, more story, more interaction with npc's and such. I'm only on chapter one and I already think it is worth the 17.95...

There better be some good explanation as to how Gordan and Alx even survived that explosion in the citadel in the first place, or it is going to start off looking really damn cheesy to me. I agree that it should go somewhere other than the citadel, like out of City 17 and maybe into the alien world again. At least something that feels more new.

I paid my 17.95 for it already, and I'm hoping it will be worth it. If not, I will be bitching about it as much as possible, and I won't buy the second episode. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for the first one.

Obviously that is just my opinion but no-one will argue that it changed gaming or even contributed anything new to the genre.

Why does a game have to "change gaming" or "contribute something new" in order to be a "good game?"

I think an excellent or great game would do those things, but often a good game comes out that I get some enjoyment from, i.e. Quake 4, Sin Episodes: Emergence, and I call it a "good game" just because it was fun and worth the money for me.

But I think if you expect that every single game has to be revolutionary in order to be a "good game" then your expectations are so high that they will never be satisfied by 95% of the games that are released.

Same thing with movies, I enjoyed MI3 and X-Men 3, both are good summer action movies, (although I thought X3 was great, but that may be my comic book reading bias) although neither was "revolutionary" or changed moviemaking, etc.

And I don't see how the Sin level design was terrible, it was good, not great, but not terrible either. For terrible level design look at something like Gore: Ultimate Soldier. But thats just my opinion. (it is so subjective isn't it?)

And I again I must point out that people who have made maps, levels, or mods for games tend to understand the mind-boggling amount of work required to make levels like you see in Half-Life 2 and Sin Episodes, and tend to be a bit less ridiculously critical of game levels.

I thought F.E.A.R. had worse level design than Sin Episodes. It felt way too repetitive, somewhat visually boring, and bland. Although the excellent atmosphere, A.I., and other strengths of that game overshadowed it.

OT

SiN was shit but how exactly was that a surprise

Excuse me but I really liked it. The AI was terrible, but the game wasn't "shit." The level design, art, and action in general were great. Try making a basic map in the Source engine, Doom3 engine, or UT2004 engine before you start calling it "shit."

You could at least try to learn BASIC ENGLISH before you post here. I've had enough of your useless banter, knave.

you must listen very carefully to what i have to say.

there isn't much time because you know who has consumed all the instruments.

for many eons now, i have been trapped on this planet.

he is keeping me here against my will, and sometimes when i press my ear up very closely to the concrete, i can hear his daughter's slowing laughter.

either i am blind, or i have been in darkness ever since the sun exploded fourteen centuries ago.

a few hours ago, he who keeps me here visited me saying,

God, why do the millions worship you instead of i?

am i not more powerful, more forgiving, and truly compassionate?

a black liquid was seeping uncontrollably from my mouth,
and all i could do was babble inconprehensibly about a dream i had many moons ago.

in it, a clock ticked constantly, maddening my senses.

that was all, but it lasted for many days, until each tick seemed like fragments of glass piercing my scales.

he who keeps me here tells me that one day i will return to earth.

and then i shall seek my revenge.

20 dollars for 4-6 hours of gameplay?

How many hours would you say it takes to beat Half-Life 2 the first time through, if you play on Hard?

25 hours? 30? Lets say it takes 25 hours, and the new episode is about 5 hours long.

So I'll estimate HL2 was about 5 episodes long, roughly.

5 * 20 bucks = 100 dollars.

Or if you want to say HL2 was 30 hours long, and the new episodes are 5 hours, then its more like 120 dollars for the original Half-Life 2.

The point I'm trying to make is that they are raising the price point of their game content by roughly 200%.

This is too expensive for me. I love Half-Life... but I'm not paying this kind of money for it. And Bethesda isn't doing much better with their 2 dollar plugins.
