I apparently was accepted into the beta but never recieved a link to download the client. All emails went unanswered and no explanation was given. I kept getting beta emails about schedule changes and stuff for a year after. This company can't get its act together.
I downloaded the beta client, setup my account, started the game and just sat there in the newbie area remembering why I quit COH in the first place. It was all coming back to me. I quit the game and uninstalled.
I loved that game!! Especially that secret level that had the wall texture as "You are not supposed to be here" I think it was called "The Vomittorium"
I believe the reason why they have so much melee combat in WH40k is because Games Workshop built 40k on top of the Warhammer Fantasy rule set way back when.
I'm talking about the table top versions mind you.
Xero, try playing as Eldar for a micro challenge. DOW gets boring if all you do is turtle until you have overwhelming force. Try harassing your opponent from the beginning and you will find that you can win with far less time and forces.
Losers of Warsong Gulch are now given a "Ribbon of Sacrifice" which they may turn in to Captain Shatterspear or Sentinel Farsong for a faction reward.
Players may no longer purchase items that require a PvP rank unless they meet the rank requirement at the time of purchase.
Nice going Blizzard, so basically even if you loose at the Battlegrounds you are still a "winner". What a load a of bull. About the second note, I wish they would make up their minds regarding this issue. Still no reason for me to reinstate my membership.
They don't think players have the ability to maneuver in space eh? Doesn't Lucas Arts remember a little series called X-Wing? I don't recall being able to tap a button and doing instant barrel rolls or double-backs.
I really hope they fix the AI in this game. How many times have you had a single square of unclaimed land in your territory and the computer will make a b-line for it even though they should not be able to see it. You then have to basically threaten them to leave and they get upset at you.
Also, how about the computer rushing for resources like saltpetre or oil before they should know about them?
