Several 4chans in one place and you didn't lock them in a closet and pour bleach on them? What's wrong with you, Valve?

And why is Gabe's quote incomprehensible? I don't want to make the usual joke about his weight, but when an interview is forced to translate for an English-speaking interviewee, I'm not sure how much to trust it.

Valve is Steam in my mind. Portal 1/2 were cute, but ultimately tiresome. HL rumors no longer interest me. I doubt a HL3 would interest me either, should it ever be realized. Too much time has passed. The moment is gone.

I wonder how this game will scale on Ipad Mini/7" Android devices? Will it even work on phones, like Galaxy Note?

If you followed the link, you'd know that it already runs on an iPhone4, but they won't release it because the UI is too small and I suspect this is also true of other phones. The Note isn't that much bigger. The iPad mini is no different from an iPad except for the size, meaning you can't release something for the iPad and prevent people from loading it on an iPad mini. It should be playable on a 7" tablet as long as you don't have fat fingers.

Is there some reason Blue won't report on the official Dragonborn announcement made on Monday, and the fact that it will be the third Skyrim DLC to carry a 30-day exclusivity to the XBox? I would have thought this would be worthy of Blue's News.

Bethesda has a bad habit of remaining silent when they don't live up to their promises. The only thing that forces them to talk is documenting their contradictions in the gaming news.

Why would you need to adopt kids if you have a spouse in the game?

I was wondering the same thing. Who needs to adopt kids when you can "make" them? Or maybe all Dragonborn are infertile?

I'm glad to see this smaller DLC because it means the contractual exclusivity to the XBox is over and future DLC can be released for PC and consoles simultaneously. That is, if Bethesda can figure out how to make their games work on PCs. Their recent efforts don't leave me feeling overly optimistic on that front.

An offer from Microsoft to "certify" a third-party application for Windows is simply an offer to test it to make sure it works. I'm not defending Microsoft or anything, since limited effort is extended to make things like games "certified," but this Notch guy seems like he goes out of his way to be difficult to deal with. Either that or this tweet could be translated as "Screw you, I hate Windows."

Personally, I'm going to skip Win8 like I skipped Vista. And I don't care about Minecraft.

They confirmed long ago that Laidlaw's still in charge, so I don't see this being of any interest to PC gamers. And if I hear them say they're pulling stuff out of the "Bioware vault" again, I'm going to vomit.

So far, I haven't received my one wish for what I wanted to see from Dragon Age III: another developer's name on the box.

They still sound like they don't have a clue.

That's because they still believe that they lose 96% of their PC title revenue to piracy.

This release date is really dumb on their part. Why do they want to compete with Borderlands 2?

I don't think they're considering other games' releases. They promised a Summer 2012 release as part of their pre-order and Sept. 21 is the last day of Summer 2012. They took people's money. I'm sure that plays at least some role in the chosen release date.

More "Game Jam" recycling. There's nothing here that wasn't part of the freeform developer creations from December.

However, I'm all for a small "horse armor" DLC if it means the last of the XBOX 360-exclusive content.

$20 is way too much for this. If Skyrim cost $60 and offered 200+ hours of gameplay, $20 DLC should offer at least 60 hours of gameplay. Throw in the fact that the bulk of code and assets are recycled from Skyrim and it's an even worse deal. I'll wait until this is $5.

Same here. $20 is too much for what amounts to last year's "game jam" hobbled together into a DLC. Winter/Holiday sale, maybe.

Also, what's with the vague leadup? From "we have not announced" to "here you go, PC users." Is it really necessary to be this vague?

Its not on the ps3 yet or the pc because its an xbox timed exlusive....nothing to clear up.

StingingVelvet wrote on Jul 29, 2012, 03:57:
30 days of exclusivity doesn't mean the DLC launched on PC on day 31.

You're both missing the point. I'm referring to this quote:

"We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I'd tell you," Bethesda vice president of marketing Pete Hines wrote.

According to this, we (as yet) have no reason to expect a PC/PS3 release of Dawnguard. Ever. That is what should be cleared up.

It's all conjecture, but the best reason for the delay I've seen suggested is that they're having problems porting it to the PS3. From what I gather, the 1.6 update still hasn't made it to the PS3 and 1.7 is now in beta. Why this should hold up the PC version, I don't know. And I can't get behind the silent treatment from Bethesda. Where things stand now, there's no guarantee that Dawnguard (or the next DLC, for that matter) is expected on the PC. That is something Bethesda needs to clear up.

Certainly no offense meant to Blue for posting the story, but I stopped reading at "giving his outlook on such litigation." I could care less what the defendant opines about the litigation he is facing, particularly when his strategy is outlined as "throw piles of money at making sure they don't get a cent." Personally, I'm more interested in whether this case has merit, and this story doesn't offer any illumination on that question.

"by or through making, using, offering for sale, selling and/or importing Android based applications for use on cellular phones and/or tablet devices that require communication with a server to perform a license check to prevent the unauthorized use of said application"

That seemed pretty clear to me...

My point was that making that the point of interest of this story, rather than Notch's opinions on the lawsuit, would have made more sense.
