Am I missing where they indicate whose the actress is going to be that is going to play her?
The actress for the role hasn't been mentioned, but Waller-Bridge was very much to blame for the arc of her character and its deleterious effect on the story of Indy 5.

Shame on you, Bethesda. Releasing on a Monday all but guarantees that your QA staff are forced to work over the weekend. You haven't learned anything.

It would be great if this were all about trimming the fat and returning Bethesda to the days of old when they were a seat-of-the-pants developer making great games to stay employed...but this is clearly about maximizing profits for shareholders and executives and was almost certainly part of the calculus that justified a $7.5B purchase of Zenimax in the first place.

Glad to see some are enjoying the game and are happy to wait for BGS to make it enjoyable enough to justify their purchase. Personally, I won't give $0.01 to a studio that insists on using obsolete technology and justifies it with lies, incompetence and a boring product but that's just me. While it's true that Starfield likely made $200M+ let's not forget that Microsoft paid $6.5BN to purchase BGS and expectations were that Starfield would yield a much larger profit through XBox exclusives. Once the modding tools and DLC are released maybe they will. That's great for those MS corporate guys like Phil Spencer, et al. It doesn't fill me with hope or giddy expectation for the next Elder Scrolls since they'll still be using this same broken engine developed by the same incompetent people and represented by the same lying game director.

Exactly the correct and responsible decision if this indeed delivers a polished and finished product at release. The experience that Homeworld 3 will offer will be all the more memorable if it is a full-featured and comprehensive product.

Apologist videos like this miss the most basic points. Emil is a design & writing director, meaning he makes the decisions on what content gets included in the game within his sphere, and his sphere is writing/story/quest design. We don't need to watch a 2+ hour youtube video to be told that he's just one person and Bethesda is a 250+ person studio when we already know that he's the one making the questionable decisions that result in disjointed, inconsistent, ridiculous stories.

Oh my god, no. Seriously they need to stop, it's killing their games at this point.
It was first announced approx. 2 1/2 years ago, though that was before Microsoft instituted control over BGS. Here are just a couple of articles that shared this information about the TES6 engine, both from Summer 2021:

While you may have meant this in jest it is actually true. Most if not all of the designers, leads, producers and directors that have been responsible for what has been good from Morrowind up until (and not including) Fallout 76 have left. Nesmith, Purkeypile, and others are gone. BGS now has 20 years of tools made for various versions of NetImmerse/Gamebryo/Creation and likely very few employees with experience using it.

"The largest update yet" = features that should have been in the product at launch 4 months ago.
Look, a beta patch for a game that nobody's playing any longer because it is dated trash.
Starfield's Creation Engine 2 is like a Ford Pinto with racing stripes, spoilers and a muffler bypass, all MacGyver'ed together with bubble gum and super glue. No matter how you paint it, it's still GameBryo/NetImmerse with 1000x modules strapped on and waiting to explode (your save game).

the opposite of Love is not hate, it’s apathy. It says something when somebody bothers to put together an eight hour video on how Starfield sucks. Redfall is an objectively much worse game but nobody talks about it. Why is that? it seems like people are offended that other people actually like Starfield.
Maybe because Microsoft acknowledged the failure of Redfall and Phil Spencer offered an apology. Bethesda Game Studios has responded to criticism of Starfield by getting defensive and telling players they're wrong.

It doesn't appear that SteamDB tracks ratings by reviews over time but I imagine even Skyrim had dips in ratings after a while only to surge back with each DLC and the release of the Creation Kit. Of course, those dips would have been mild - nothing like we've seen with Fallout 76 or Starfield. BGS has made the claim that Starfield will be played for 10 years, presumably fueled by continued support and content releases, but the majority of people leaving are doing so because the game is the same game they've played for over 10 years only worse. Game mechanics have regressed from previous titles, exploration is absent, technical limitations of the engine reveal bugs at a rate that increases the longer you play and Emil Pagliarulo's writing has NPCs insulting the player at nearly every opportunity. Why would people want to return to this game for another helping of this kind of "content." Even the most dedicated fans can endure only so many loading screens before they get "bored."

Doesn't matter. Bethesda and their 25 year old game engine are irrelevant.
Let's see how many people are willing to pay for more garbage like this when TES6 is released. They'll get exactly what they deserve.

Not asking him to apologize. Also not going to be silent because this developer (BGS, not this individual) has a history of taking silence as praise. And I don't want them to ruin TES6, so the message I'd convey to them is this: you must do better.

So many things in Starfield just don't make any sense.
  • You can open your inventory with one keystroke, yet you have to tab through 5 screens to get back to the game. Did no one ask whether this makes sense?
  • NPCs only react when someone takes damage, yet children are immune to all damage. You can unload a full magazine into a child in front of a guard and they don't react (though the child flees). Did no one ask whether this makes any sense?
  • On PC (apparently not on XBox) the player character holds melee weapons like the UC Saber backwards. Did no one look at this to see if it was correct? How does it get broken only on PC?
  • The jump distance of ships is limited, seemingly to get players to invest in a skill tree, yet there is no refueling mechanic in the game beyond landing on a planet. Did no one ask whether this makes sense?
What's the point of these questions? They would have all been answered and addressed if someone were responsible for maintaining a central design document - you know, the thing that every other developer making games insists on to make sure that designers on different parts of the game know what core features are required to be in the game in order to insure that their work ties in with the overall product. Yet Emil Pagliarulo insists that design documents are not necessary at Bethesda Game Studios and now he's complaining about criticism. Go figure.

Maybe if you had a central design specification that you kept up to date so everyone could work with it you wouldn't end up with a disjointed game that leaves so many feeling disappointed. Maybe if you used a more modern game engine you wouldn't have to make so many compromises. Not your decision? Then don't use having to make concessions as an excuse for using woefully outdated technology.

Apparently it's taking longer to shoehorn the new "Creations" paid mods shop into Fallout 4 because the Microsoft overlords are making them finish Starfield first. In all seriousness, the majority of BGS is working on the Starfield DLC because it will generate revenue. Patches for Starfield do not, and a next-gen update to Fallout 4, which has been marketed as initially being free to owners of the game, will only generate revenue from new console versions. The delay can therefore be attributed to the poor reception of Starfield (and the general state of the game at launch).
