What a load of crap! It is like the reviewer didnt even read the damn manual.
I am still reading it but a few things came to mind as I was reading it.

I’ll admit it, I’m a bit of a gaming snob. I turn up my nose at games I’ve never even heard of. I walk past with a disdainful turn of my head, averting my eyes so that I’m not sullied by the dross that pollutes the market, of which there seems to be a never-ending supply. This is not to say that I only play big titles, or games attached to “big name” companies. I scour the field, always looking for the coveted “sleeper hit.” These are the games that make my eyes light up at the mere mention of them.
This quote is very contradictory. He admits that he doesnt like unhyped games and yet in the same breath he says he looks for sleeper hits. He is basicly admitting that is he hasnt heard of teh game then he is going into the review already with a percieved bad mark against the game. Maybe I am reading into it wrong but it sure does read that way.

So, I was anxious, with good reason to my mind, in regard to this game I had not really heard much about, I also found out after some research this was actually Imperium Galactica 3 with a new name.
Strike 2!!!! Had he REALLY done his homework there is enough info out there for him to find out the real history and again, not had a preconcieved notion of what the game is or isnt. IG3 it is not and was never meant to be.

It wasn’t long, however, until I realized that I was in the ideal position as a reviewer. I was tabula rasa, a totally blank slate as far as this game was concerned,
Based on his above statements I question if he was indeed ideal or had a "blank slate" since his above comments dont seem to bear that out.

It is unfortunate that the quality of the graphics do not seem to carry over to the animated objects, which seem to stand out in a garish way, even with their sedate textures and colors, against the stunning background.
What!!! I am stunned. Garish!!! What the heck is he referring too?

From time to time the text is omitted in the middle of a mission, an annoyance that can be rather frustrating considering that what is said in the heat of battle is usually far more important to your success then the plot filling that takes place before and after each mission.
RTM!!! Even for slow readers there is an option to see all conversations. Click on the "i" button.

You see, to this point I had been disappointed with combat. It was slightly cumbersome, but more importantly, it was slow. That’s right. Snail-slow.
I dont see how it was cumbersome unless someone didnt read the manual or use the tutorials. Slow!, jeez thats like complaining that an aircraft carrier not handeling like a speedboat. These are Capital Ships, not fighters.

I won’t go into much more depth regarding the progression of the storyline as it goes against my grain to spoil a plot, even when it is attached to such a tedious method of delivery. However, I will say this: I maintained my optimistic skepticism, assuming that the game was like a roller coaster with a steep but rather boring climb upwards before descending in a frenzy of jovial screaming. I persisted through the game with this mindset and it wasn’t until the credits were rolling that I realized that my optimism was, in fact, naïvete. I suppose this game might appeal to someone, somewhere with a penchant for monotony, but I should have realized earlier on, when I actually stood up, went to the restroom without pausing, grabbed a bottle of water, and returned to my seat while engaged in combat only to find the battle still continuing much as I had left it, with no significant change in the tide of battle, that Nexus was not like a roller coaster. It was the teacups…with an “Out of Order” sign.
ok, I think that we have just been insulted with the whole "someone, somewhere with a penchant for monotony"
Another thing is that if he left for awhile and came back that just goes to show taht a) he should have played a level other than beginner b) used manual control instead of relying on the auto-stance buttons.
My rating for this review is 2 out of 10.
