There's ridiculous, and there's incorrect. I haven't looked into the case, but if it was a federal court and someone mistakenly thought it was a state court, they were wrong, but that's not a "ridiculous" statement. It's just a mistake.

Taking something from someone without paying for it or without thier consent is theft.
When you pirate a game, the person you take it from doesn't lose it. I'm not saying it's ok, but it's just not the same thing.
But if you think that stealing to feed a starving baby is always wrong, then you've got some bigger issues to think about.

TheDude is too predictable these days. JosephBlowski is more of an enigma. That said, The Dude's comment about HL2 being "built on the Steam API" was a nice touch.

I think this may be the only Agatha Christie book I read - I was more into Sherlock Holmes, a series which has had its share of interesting and crappy games. I really enjoyed this book at the time, but I'm not sure how I see a game translation working out. We'll see, though.

In Doom3 I've actually shot a zombie in the head and hit a wall behind it and slump to it's butt, that kind of event simply isn't possible in HL2.
Um, you might want to play some HL2DM or Counter-Strike: Source and then restate that. Or better yet, pick up Gary's Mod and play around with the ragdolls a bit.

I don't know - there's a lot of folks I know I disagree with politically at times (my wife being one) and we all get along just fine. What's the fun in it if everyone agrees all the time?
