No story once you play through...
As opposed to other ARPGs which, what? Listen, D3 ain't perfect. But if you want to complain at least find something a little more specific to it.

Great game, but it has run its' course. Hard to believe anyone still plays much of it. You'd think they'd move onto Grim Dawn or PoE for a little variety if nothing else...

It's how Mitt Romney made his millions, although I've heard stories worse than what he did.
Yeah, I remember. The problem is everyone in the decision tree gets rich off these deals. So the only way to keep it from happening is for someone to be a "stick in the mud", who has power to block it, who won't fold to being offered millions. Those are few and far between -- and frankly, I'm not sure I could resist it.

Pressure mounts where? In the plumbing of their mansions? There is no pressure, the letter from the Ds is effectively meaningless.

Blame capitalism. It was bought out by Cerberus Capital, who took control using a leveraged buy out that gave Remington a debt of $1B for the privilege of being purchased. Cerberus then paid itself millions in management fees per year.
Ah, thanks for the information. It is simultaneously unsurprising and disappointing those kind of transactions still happen on a regular basis.

I thought this was kind of surprising:

Remington files for bankruptcy

figured all the gun makers were doing fine.

Hey Cutter -- we agree on something! Star Castle was excellent and didn't get enough credit. Sounds like you were better at it than I ever was. Although I did like Tempest also -- was pretty good at that.

Ha! This got me bouncing around related wiki pages, from The Golden Age of Arcade Video Games:

In 1982, the arcade video game industry's revenue in quarters was estimated at $8 billion surpassing the annual gross revenue of both pop music ($4 billion) and Hollywood films ($3 billion) combined that year. It also exceeded the revenues of all major sports combined at the time, earning three times the combined ticket and television revenues of Major League Baseball, basketball, and American football, as well as earning twice as much as all the casinos in Nevada combined.

Amazing, simply stunning.

I remember playing Centipede in the arcades, and I'd swear it was 'new,' but chronologically, that can't be right. Maybe later versions.
Before looking I was going to say 1978 -- the wiki page says 1980. So, if you were playing it in the arcade around then, it was new. I know I sure was.

I'm waiting for Amazon to offer internet service; Google can't seem to get it done.
If you mean FTTH, neither Amazon or Google has enough money to do that except for a small percentage of the population. It will happen eventually over time, but it won't be common for a long time to come.

You are certainly correct that corporations have been treating the public like so many serfs for many decades. What has changed with the current administration is we are seeing the government bending over backward to assist them far more often than they did previously. Yeah, it happened some in the past, but the way the current administration is sweeping away regulations and opening the countries resources and coffers to the corporations is really quite breath taking.

Excellent film. He also apparently did the music for Sicario which was also very good. No cause of death released... hopefully it wasn't something "stupid".

7. Re: This flu season has now reached pandemic levels Feb 10, 2018, 22:14 Mr. Tact

This sentence,
In particular, officials are seeing unusually high levels of hospitalizations in non-elderly adults, with the rates for 50-to-64-year-olds significantly higher than what they were at the same period in the severe 2014-2015 season with the same predominant flu strain.
seems slightly worrying to me as I'm in that age range and haven't had a flu shot since I left the USAF a couple of decades ago. I've only ever had the flu once (more than a decade ago), so I'm pretty sure my immune system is reasonably resistant, but that resistance is sure to weaken over time...

How does a company stay in business for so long while doing nothing but losing money? I didn't understand it when Amazon did it for years too. I guess I just don't have a head for business.
I'm not sure YouTube is losing money these days, but even if it is I'm with you on the confusion over businesses losing money for years but managing to not only continue, but to grow. I mean, I understand it to a point, but it seems some companies take it to such an extreme it's difficult to comprehend. Of course, part of it is business "accounting" - which anywhere else would be scamming. In the business world accounting principles are often non-intuitive.
